Will Fractured region locked ?
Hi elcro - it's too early for this kind of question. All I can tell you is that, as of today, we're not planning to have region locks.

@Vahn interesting question. I'll give you a quick answer since these points too will be discussed in future Feature Spotlights.
The fact you can craft the piece of armor / weapon you need yourself doesn't mean that you have the material you want to use to craft it. Basic ones, you'll likely do, or be able to obtain easily. Rare ones (particularly those coming from other planets), probably not. Plus, even if you have "that" rare material you want to use, that doesn't mean your character can actually use it! The ability to use each material is something that you need to learn, just like the ability to craft each piece, and if you're a Beastman and that piece of knowledge is tucked away in a remote and dangerous region on Tartaros... Good luck obtaining it!
As said above, mind this was just a quick answer. There'd be a lot more to be said
I don't know if the law is going to be enough to keep Syndesia from becoming a gankbox. Plenty of sandbox games out there with justice and flagging systems that still turned into gankboxes. I guess it will very much depend on how punishing the law will be, but it needs to be very punishing to work.
Yeah, this is something that will likely receive a few balancing passes before it works as intended. That being said, it's not only a matter of "how punishing" the system is, but also of mechanics. We've come up with some innovative ones for Syndesia, which of course will be covered in one of the following feature spotlights!
I'm curious what % of the current foundation members fall into which categories - what are you most interested in, keeping in mind that while moving between zones will be possible, it will also apparently be limited. If you have to stick to just one of the three for an extended period of time, where are you at home?
I'll drop a little hint here: in the coming weeks it will be known how many players want to start with each race
@johnny-quantum said in Feature Spotlight #1 – Three Races, Three Gameplays:
Races look really great. Would like to try them all, but this leads to some questions:
Is there any value in creating more than one character?
Will there be any account wide unlocks or benefits?
Hi Johnny! There is a value in that you can try the Demon, Human and Beastman life, which, as you have read, are quite different experiences Plus, the stats of your character and thus its main strengths and weaknesses are defined when you create it, so it's quite useful to have more than one!
Is Fractured an isometric MMO?
Yes, it is, although the correct term for Fractured's view type would be "perspective projection". The camera of Dota 2 is a good term of comparison
If you're very interested in open world PvP / full loot, you should definitely play as a Demon! Alternatively, you can play as a human and go criminal - on Syndesia it will definitely be easier to target players who are less skill in PvP, but you'll have to deal with the law.
as promised, the first Feature Spotlight of Fractured has arrived this week! The core design principles of Humans, Beastmen and Demons are now unveiled, as well as some insights on how Fractured is set to revolutionize the concept of race in the MMO genre.
A word of warning before you start. In our initial plan for this spotlight, we wanted to not only introduce you to the three races, but also to detail their three planets, societies, religions... We've been such fools! We soon realized we would have ended up with a blog post as long as a novel - and mind, this one's not short either.
Therefore, we decided to break the topic down into several spotlights, with the first one being "only" a high-level overview of the three races of and their Families.
The promised video FAQ also hasn't been forgotten, worry not! Once we're done with the other couple of upcoming spotlights dedicated to the race-related matters hinted above, all the questions still unanswered will get the video reply they deserve. So keep posting and...
