With only 10 people getting an invite, I doubt you'll find the game on a torrent, because it would be pretty easy to pinpoint down who leaked the game and drag them to court.

im rank 20, and super active, if someone that is lower then me in rank got in before me, that will make me mad, it sound very unfair.......
for example @Gothix is rank 28 and super active too, same as me, if he would have got the invite before me, it will be very unfair, and annying....

Yep I chalk my missing it up to being excited. But I'd you're going to miss things that's probably the best reason to.

While I'm too exited to see the project starting, I don't get all this hype for a Pre-Alpha: it's basically a test to see if the general core of the game works properly, it will have tons of downtimes and very little will be implemented.
Chill out guys, it's far more interesting to see the Alpha 1 where the game will be more refined at we could get a better idea of the game.

work for a year to get into Pre-Alpha just to ignore it when it's up. Master at stupidity as well

Paying and not showing is much easier as some people have lots of money to spare. Look at the crazy people that spent 5k$$ on Fractured
Investing tons of time and then not having a bit of time for pre-alpha? Not likely.

Peoples situation in life can change drastically and fast. But in such a case, there's always the option to invite more testers. It's not like this is a time critical scenario, since the developers have plenty of systems to work on till people spam them with bugs

why would you get mad if someone on leaderboard behind you gets in?
the pre alpha is something the devs and player work on together to optimize the prozess till alphaif they handpicked the first few players then it means the devs think they would be contributing the most
its a gift for themif i gift someone on the streets some money and you are nearby
