Alpha 2 - Test 3 New Launch Date
-
Dear Fractured followers,
we are glad to announce that the bug that forced us to postpone the launch of Alpha 2 - Test 3 has been resolved yesterday afternoon.
We've spent yesterday evening and the whole day today playtesting in depth to make sure no unlikely occurrence of the issue could still be around. Well, it seems it no longer is, which means the official new launch date is:
Wednesday, July 22, at 4pm CEST (10am EDT)!
I know some of you will be asking "why not starting sooner?". The reason is simple - having a launch on a weekend is really a terrible idea, since most of the team is not around to provide support in case something bad happens! Moreover, we wanted to give you some time to prepare for the new launch
When announcing the delay, we mentioned a compensation for your disappointment. That's already been delivered - 1,000 Dynamight Tokens have been added to the all the accounts with access to Alpha 2 - Test 3.
Oh, one last thing. Don't forget that client download and character creation are already available! City joining and claiming is also open, and will be closed again on Tuesday afternoon.
See you soon in game!

Wohooo, lets pray Specter doesnt test it on alpha-launch day again
-
Good Show! On my off day too. I'll get to stream and play. WooHoo!!
-
Look forward to it

It's not a bug. It's an undocumented feature.
-
Absolutely agreed. Setting the launch to your working times makes most sense.
I am so curious about the town features. And Wednesday isn‘t far.
-
Testing during the work week. Guess I’ll get the bench warmer time in game...
-
Thats good to here that the test will be still happening next week! Glad to see that you all got the bug fixed and are ready to go!
-
yessss its starting soon

@BlueGoblin said in Alpha 2 - Test 3 New Launch Date:
Testing during the work week(...)
The test is supposed to run for multiple weeks. You should have ample opportunity (and weekends) to get in and have at it
It's better to do ample testing and delay for a weekday when you can have the best possible conditions for a smooth start. No reason to push something just to gain a day or two.

Anyone who has seen Devs do Friday or Weekend realeses. Knows how stupid an idea that is.
One reason most patches and stuff are tuesdays or thursdays.Good that you guys take your own mental and physical health into consideration. No need to crunch on weekends, to fix another hidden game breaking bug or server restart. Just so that a few people can play a few days earlyer. Which is still a test run, to literally find problems and get feedback.
I really will enjoy fractured next week. Till now i had been positive suprised how smooth its going. ;3 sometimes you gotta offer up that code goat to the machine gods, better get that cabal group going stronger next time. Haha.
PS: Don't rush. This game is looking to be what i hoped albion would become. Sadly albion got doggy styled by people abusing stuff and devs not careing. + the whole real money tradeing. Keep stuff cosmetic and time saveing, sucess will come.
PPS: .... i do hope we get some wolfs type pets or cool cosmetics on realese. I gotten that winter fox, cause i love foxes ;D. But i dunno what to spend my 19k dynamight gold on atm. Give em stuff to spend and i will spend it. I'ma sucker for cosmetics ....

Thank you for the info, next week will be fun!

Another advantage to waiting until Wednesday to restart the AlphaI launch is that they have a few more days for in-house testing to make sure that the bug is completely overcome, and see if any other glaring server side errors come up before releasing their baby into the wild.
I also fully agree with the mid-week release. Hump day is a great time to do so, even the 9-5ers out there will get a few evenings available to play before the weekend, and the weekenders exclusive only need must wait 2-3 days to play. The Devs and Support staff are there for the opening labor pains of our newborn test to smooth out the wrinkles, and those initial wrinkles can be smoothed out before the weekend is upon us.

I am so so so chuffed!!! Really appreciate the continuing transparency and open comm-lines from @Prometheus & the devs.
My little toons are all ready to rock and roll!

I'm curious ... let's see. 2 more days
