what do you like to see next from the developers?
-
@nightcoder That's correct. The lifetime VIP is limited to the crowdfunding campaign.
-
I'd like to see more info on religions
-
@specter Soooo that changed then at some point it looks like? Because I (and seemingly others) were under the impression that it would be a limited thing for the Kickstarter campaign. It's confusing to say the least. You state it isn't exclusive to it. Then your very next remark could be taken either way. That's a bit frustrating because I backed at the level I did both to support the game, and receive that unique reward. Which doesn't appear to be true anymore. You guys really gotta be more upfront about this kinda thing.
Then again it happens. Can't always catch every last possible detail all the time. Not something one can physically do. So. Eh. Is what it is. Appreciate the response regardless!

Buildings require maintenance. Your own house, farm or other constructions will decay over time and eventually collapse if not maintained. The Carpenter NPC takes care of the issue for you.
Lifetime VIP can be obtained through crowdfunding only. First through the Kickstarter, and later through the website.
Last I was updated, lifetime VIP will not be available after Kickstarter. Immortal tier is Kickstarter-only.
-
@genobee It was always a crowdfunding exclusive, not a Kickstarter exclusive. There's a big difference there. "Crowdfunding" refers to both the KS and the upcoming store on the website.

@prometheus said in Kickstarter Update - Pledge Packs:
Some like character slots, sure. Others like the custom crest, not decided yet. Others surely not - the Lifetime VIP is a crowdfunding-only reward.
From the beginning it was said to be crowdfunding only. A lot of people misunderstood that as kickstarter only, but that's not really DS's fault.
-
@specter I don't know. The way it has been repeatedly stated comes across as misleading. Clarification was hard to find to top it all off. That's really not a good way to be doing things, nor is the cavalier attitude towards it. I brought it up with someone (letting them read through it) and their first thoughts on it were "deceitful marketing tactic".
Please, please, please be more clear in the future.
-
@genobee it was stated by people that are not part of DS, like fibs, you really need to be careful what you hear from people that are not DS, many people will say something that isn't true.
-
Idk, Maybe a couple of new Tshirts on @Prometheus
-
Right now, I really just want to be able to fill out the kickstarter survey so that I can go into hibernation and forget about Fractured until Alpha. I don't have the fortitude to stay active throughout such long pre-release development cycles.
-
I'm also curious, and want to hear from the devs about, what they think of all the yammering we're doing XD Do they find what we've said to be useful - has anything here changed anything, or re-enforced anything for them?

They would have to read all the yammering to know if the yammering is useful.
-
@jahlon We've seen that they do occassionally - we're getting multiple servers (as opposed to one central server) partially because we asked for it, with good logical reasons. They regularly answered questioned, too. The end of the KS, and the vacations, and the convention, have put a damper on the feedback loop, but they do still read the yammering.

More Gameplay videos.

I love theorycrafting and want to see a list of all +400 skills/abilities that they have planned for release!
@grofire cool idea this tread
-
@logain I would rather them make the best game possible instead of rushing to meet goals.
-
Goals are always a good thing, but it need to be realistic.
Goals are the engine for creativity.
-
What I want to see next: Continued involvement. That means the occasional news item/blog, a few ideas tossed around the community here, maybe some sort of down time fun that they share... and continued work on the game.
I want them to do a good job, and to have fun as well. That's just my outlook on work anywhere, though.

I think you misunderstood me there, sorry for not expressing myself better.
I am not saying they should 'rush' things, quite far from that, but they have set goals and these goals are important to me, since they are what they claim to be financially viable and secure. So if they drastically miss these goals, the predicted timeline is more and more unreliable and as such is funding. A lack of funding and a missing proper prediction of timeline are the factors that most often kill projects, as simple as that.
So, if they can show they meet their own goals, it means they were able to properly predict and manage resources, which raises the likelihood of that happening again in the future and as such the game being released.
Does that make more sense now?

Hopefully return from (the well deserved) vacation soon and have a spot light ready to drop immediately to get the buzz going in the community again. Traffic on the forums has slowed to a crawl as there is not much new to talk about.

+1 on that. Usually I'd go away for a few hours and the counter of unread messages would reach 99+. Right now you can log-off over a day and get only ~30 - most of which are the usual "daily posts".
