May 3 City Progression & PvP Q&A Livestream - List Your Questions!
Player cities are the next big feature coming to the world of Fractured. The first iteration of the system is going live in. However, I've only managed to reply to some of the questions - in fact, we've perhaps cover half of the system, if not less!
To fill the gap, I'm going to be live again on Twitch on Sunday, May 3, from 7pm CEST (1pm EDT). To tune in, just open Oxfurd's Twitch channel a few minutes before the time announced above - we can chat a little before the Q&A session begins!
So, wait no more and start posting all your questions regarding:
- City progression
- City specialization
- City & guild competition (PvP, conquests, territory control)
If you prefer, you can leave them in the dedicated channel may_3_cities_pvp_qna on our Discord!
Before you post, however, I suggest you have a look at:
- Don't make more than one post
- It's fine if your questions are complex, but please post questions, not essays!
- ...and no more than 2 or 3, please
- Also, split them clearly if you got more than one.
- This is a dedicated question thread. Don't start discussing with your fellow community members!
Thank you all and... see you soon!
What will we get by controlling a city?
How much control will the leader have?
Will we be able to control what or who joins a city?
Will cities be ruled by dictatorship or democracy?
Can crimes be committed in the cities? And if so how will the governors handle that?
Progression and Specialisation of Cities are of course interesting and gives some questions, but i am more interested in, how to save your Town in PVP enabled areas.
So my questions will be:
What's the difference between Planets at Territory Control, if there is a difference?
How i can imagine Town Sieges?
What possibilities groups have to siege a town and whats the benefit of it? (What to loot, what to get)
Which kind/possibilities of Defenses we will get?
Does city progression still have stages? (Hamlet -> Village -> Town -> City -> Metropolis)
If yes, how the progression from one step to another happens in practice? What kind of player actions have impact to the progression?
If no, how city development works then?
Welp I can't wait
Can the land surrounding a town/city be controlled and managed? Not the mines and stuff but the actual land around it for agriculture or the like.
Does the city give boni to the defenders scaling with city progression?
how fast can a city regenerate during a siege?
walk us through a scenario where a player/guild/group finds a (node) spot to start a town.
- will it always be a ruin.
- can it be wilderness with a 'town center' object.
Concerning town sieges:
- Any type of city can be besieged?
- What happens to the governants and citizens of a city if they are defeated?
- How long a siege last? What are the conditions for defeat on either side of the siege?

I wanna know this as well. Will it be Albion-style (5v5, 20v20) where only selected few can join, but small guilds will have a chance against big guilds or basically a zerg?
I'm interested in more about what happens after city siege is lost:
- What all does winning guild get from attacking an enemy city, after they have won?
Regarding Territory Control
Asside from Sieging, will there be other ways to force/change who owns what Territory?
You said you were designing for solo play as well as group so, would solo players be able to Siege a city by themselves?
Can you be Sieged or lose territory while Offline?
Will the city system implement the resource management that has been talked about in previous q&as?
What happens when a player quits the game that is running a city?
How do you change who runs the city?
Where do city finances from taxes go and who has access to them? What can those taxes be used for?
So far, questions are mostly around city mechanics & fighting. My question is more about social dynamics:
Will this next test incorporate any of the gods, temples, &/or karmic aspects?
First time for me hanging out on a Twitch gamer channel, and I liked it! @Oxfurd is an excellent host, I got lots of my unspoken questions answered, and Kralith et al made me feel VERY welcome. Looking forward to the next one
