Kickstarter Update - Stretch Goals Revealed

Loved seeing these, but I'll admit to some disappointment to seeing fishing and animal taming where they are. Definitely both things that would attract me, and I'm thinking others, to the game. Fishing is always such an awesome time sink in the MMOs that do it well.

If I remember correctly, they stated that stretch goals won't implement core mechanics to the game, but aren't fishing and (especially) animal taiming/animal training core features which change gameplay for a lot of people? For example, for someone who plans to create a business with (tamed) animals/pets.
The fact a feature can have a significant impact on gameplay doesn't make it a core feature - otherwise literally anything cool would be a core feature, right?
A core feature is something necessary for the game to work, and/or something that truly "defines" the game. Survival elements, resource gathering and transportation, crafting, building, player-run towns, governors, town wars, guilds, the knowledge system, environmental effects, the three races and planets, these are core features. Fishing and Animal Taming are content
@grofire we're getting a lot since we've published the goals actually!

Thanks for your quick reply and definition.

Happy to hear that, great news!

I'm excited that the Lich doesn't change one's alignment, but I wish there were another option for a form that wasn't undead... Maybe, if upon completing the process, you're allowed a new character customization opportunity to decide on your Lich-ness. I might be able to live with that.

ya i seen 6%, from 79% o 85% right now. im so glad that people decided to pledge, i really want this KS to workout.
-
@Holyhong idk im just saying things lol...who knows
-
@prometheus Tell em, Lich are normal people too!
LICH LIFES MATTER! ... or Anti lifes.
-
You really should have released the stretch goals earlier. I think Animal Taming being a reasonable possibility would have gone a long way to attract contributions. As it stands, knowing that it was considered and now likely won't be implemented makes me less likely to contribute.

Loving these goals

I think it was incredibly silly to withhold the stretch goals; I can't fathom why that would be a good idea.
At the very least, the first stretch goal should have been visible from the start and more revealed as the campaign went on.
-
@fibs I kinda have to agree. Keeping all of it hidden was a little unusual. Meant we had no idea what those incentives were or if we should be interested in them.
Oh well. Hindsight is 20/20 and all that.
-
@fibs 99% stretch goals was a latter idea to try to end the KS succesfully, else they would have been present from the beginning..
-
Tartaros fishing would be the best.
Or... indirect fishing to be a bit more precise.
-
Since the spotlight about races, i was completely decise to not playng a Human, even if the balance between PvE and PvP it's what i like most. But lich transformation plus mantaining karma and allignment? Man that would awesome!
I use to tought playng a Human on MMORPG is not worthing but that would give a fresh air breeze to Human Being.... hope to it see anyway.
-
Loving these stretch goals. Here's hoping for a full release!

Wonder if anyone will make a guild completely made up of angels, liches, or abominations
There will be atleast one guild with an Lich as Guild Master.
Called Ainz Ooal Gown. ^^With lots of demons and demihumans.
-
nice to see we're breaking goals
-
You know I said I wasn't going to do any more kickstarters.....but damn it if I don't want to see these guys succeed.
-
If is possible insert a new FAQ in KS that tell people about taming and fishing. Many are concerned about their implementation in the game if the stretch goal is not met. Maybe tell them that is possible to reach the goal after the Ks on our site and if not met at all that it will just be postponed because is intented as a non core future for Alpha stage.. (if its correct what i got)

That's is my understanding of the matter as well.
