[Poll] PvP or PvE, now with more precise scale!
-
Poll options say it all.
-
I really enjoy good PvP action, specially the organized large scale / GvG battles. But I also love smaller scale skirmishes very much. Even if I love good PvE, I enjoy good PvP more.
This basically means I will quit whatever I'm doing in PvE (unless it's organized raid/dungeon, I will not let my group down of course) when nice PvP action happens and I will jump right into it.
This is why I voted PvP focus with moderate PvE (basically, I PvE while there is nothing interesting going on in PvP).
-
For me, I'll take pure PVE any day.
-
What @Warpuppy said.
-
If I see some nice PvP action going on, I will make sure I walk in the opposite direction.
-
I don't mind PvP as a whole, although I do not like ganking or griefing behaviors (ganking lacks the competitive part to me, the entire idea is an advantage so extreme that you cannot lose). Thus I tend to like them more as a split up set of activities.
That said, I do like things like sieges and such. I think there is a lot of potential room for something like that within the human areas, with Tartaros being the free for all. Of course, we have had some words on that before, and what the developers do is what they do!
I basically just want to minimize people who have the only interest of causing problems for others, while still getting to have fun with both types of gameplay. I specify separate because, as is so often demonstrated, "People are why we cannot have nice things." AKA, if people can make things really bad for each other, they will. That doesn't mean (separate) that there should be only battlegrounds, but rather that there should be times and places rather than a complete free for all style (imo for Sydensia).
-
Must say, I'm a bit surprised at the results. Thought a ton more would want a much heavier PvP focus.
-
There are too few votes to take any meaningful conclusion.
But I personally enjoy Pve much more, only jump onto pvp if there is some guild war happening or something like that where I can help defend.
-
@esoba the PVPer are vocal minority, in all MMOs.
-
As I prefer meaningful PvP, that evolves over time, which means, I've voted for 'PvP and PvE equally'.
-
Thing is, you can not avoid PvE in any MMO because PvE gets you levels (where you have levels), gear, skill points etc. There hasn't been a single MMO yet where you can obtain all this (effectively) through pure PvP.
This is why PvP players are used to doing all content, and there is no full PvP focus votes, because you simply can't play like that.
On the other hand PvP gets you nothing extra that you can not gain through PvE, and PvE players can (if they wish so) avoid all PvP and still get their characters to their maximum effectiveness.
Things would be a lot different if players could gain all through PvP, without the need to touch PvE at all, or if PvP gave players a half of needed things for character progression (half progression obtainable through PvE, half through PvP).
So far in MMO world things have always been biased towards PvE in this aspect, and PvP was (sadly) always looked upon as "an extra", as something you can do, but isn't needed to progress your character.
-
I picked PvE focus with moderate PvP, but honestly, it ought to be PvE focus with light PvP

If Fractured ends up done nicely, who knows, it may just become a moderate PvP for you.

Well, 4 out of 6 of the top guilds are Beastmen guilds. Although 2 of them rather inexplicable talk about PVP.
-
@gothix Honestly, a game that required PvP to get full development is one I'd personally never be able to play. Just the way I'm wired.
-
@warpuppy You need to go to Tartaros if you want to max certain skills. If you're a completionist or just need to max out a specific skill for a build, PvP is not really avoidable.
-
PVE all the way
-
I voted PvE focus with moderate PvP, but i will only jump into PvP if i'm not alone. If i'm alone, i think i will focus on PvE.
Difficult decision between this two choices.
-
Looks like I'm with the biggest group, mostly PvE.
-
i wonder what the people that vote "PvE focus with moderate PvP (Focus on PvE, but jump into PvP if some nice action happens nearby)" thinks that mean?
