RE: Next Play test ??
@BlueGoblin said in Next Play test ??:
I really wish theyโd open the doors a little wider to other packages.
If they did that, it wouldn't be following the protocol of what everyone pledged for. It wouldn't be fair on those that Spent $300 to geart alpha access compared to people that spent only $50 for Beta. It is amazing that they are letting people that have smaller packs or none at all join to be able to do stress tests on the servers at all. be greatful for what we get. Don't take it for granted ^c^ It isn't like people weren't told exactly what they were buying.

RE: Question about enviromental damage/effects
@PeachMcD Not to mention how Shrek does it by jumping into a pond and farting!! Now that's some real player interaction with the environment!!

RE: Daily Quest Issue
I had it happen a few times over the course of a fortnight about 8 months ago i think. What I also noticed, is that even when it said that i finished the quest, without actually posting that day, for whatever reason, I still got the 50 points for that day. Even though I technically didn't earn them. I only noticed it happen like 4 times though over the course of me supporting this game development. I don't know if it is much to speculate over, but I believe every time that it happened, I had logged in about the same time the next day, and it only happened if I logged in the next day, not if i logged in 2 or more days later.
I remember it so well, because it was really confounding to me.

RE: Download?
You can only participate in open tests. They have been pretty lenient with them though. But, as @humerus basically said, you can onlu download the client while a test u can participate in, is currently active.

RE: Mobile Crafting
if we could set up temporary anywhere stations like we can set up a temporary campfire to heal, that'd be pretty neat. Have it cost a reasonable sum of rss to make and have it despawn after a set amount of time
Only for basic crafting tho, it would be weird to be able to make super intricate items on the fly.

RE: Animations
@Jarmo This is an alpha after all. Simply having animations at this point is something, instead of characters that stand in nothing but a T-Pose like some other alphas that i have seen.

RE: Mele combat need and improvement to hit targents in movement
I personally havn't tried melee combat yet, other then the spear in alpha 1-2 where i didn't have much issues with it. Perhaps the different types of melee weapons have different ranges? I dunno. I agree that u can't just have a base range of one. Having a low base range could be useful though for player mechanics in fights however. For example, in a PvP fight, you might have an opponent that likes to run in and out of their target for cooldowns on skills or something. You could counter it by swapping to a bow while they aren't in melee range or a staff to cast magic or curses. Your character might not be built towards such things, but if u r quick enough, any debuff or stab with dmg on your opponent when you couldnt have otherwise would still give u an edge

RE: Would love to see mob loot drops tied to knowledge
@Roccandil I think RNG should still have a part. Artificial extensions to games make them longer, and grinding becomes less mechanical. I reckon you have an amazing idea, however, I personally believe that removing RNG isn't an option. When I got to this test, i was happily surprised that trees didn't give 5 twigs every time, regardless of tree. Variation makes the game more fun.
However, I believe, coming from your idea, the knowledge system should give a higher chance to drop rarer loot, such as rabbit feet. For example, at 0% knowledge on a rabbit you have 5% chance to get a rabbit foot, at 25% knowledge, you have a 10% chance, at 50% you have a 15% chance and at 100% you have a 20% chance. Considering how fast your knowledge goes up, and that rabbit feet are SUPPOSED to be rare, even 20% is a bit high potentially, but it's a rough draft ^c^
As much as i know some people hate RNG... for the most part, it keeps the game interesting. Seeing the exact thing over and over gets stale very quickly. RNG is the staple of most games today and it adds major replayability.

RE: How is bow build viable? seems underwhelming...
@Prometheus does bow damage stat off or PER? it's hard to tell how its' damage goes up looking at stats, as there is no mention of bows in the character creation. Perhaps there should be a tip put into it in future updates? I got my str to 15 this test in case bow damage statted off of that, but it doesn't seem to have helped.
I have been trying to do a bow build from the get-go in this game, but the lack of info does make it difficult. I havn't read up much on the news, because i like to discover things for myself instead of be spoiled for info and not have the excitement of discovery, so it is probably my fault... BUT, when the game is eventually released as open beta or a full game, New players with no background knowledge (like I, in effect would be testing as) NEED to be able to find out how they need their build on their own through wit and the descriptions of the different stats before them.
To add to this, my suggestion would be to add some kind of 'advanced descriptions' to the game. Have the basic description of everything that u do now, but then an extra button to open up more detailed notes on EXACTLY what each stat does for you in-game. Of course, this probably can't be done until all the stats are fleshed out completely and are exactly what u guys want, but I hope to see it implemented ^c^

RE: Unintentional movability of objects in other player's house
That's really neat pretty sure it was part of the rescent patches too.

RE: [FRAC-1897] House walls do not block aggro or melee combat
@Roccandil said in House walls do not block aggro or melee combat:
I meant I saw a player attacking a bear with the house wall inbetween them.
ah, i see. I guess this has become 2 bug reports then instead of 1 :3

RE: [FRAC-1897] House walls do not block aggro or melee combat
Mobs will walk straight through fences as if they aren't even there. I am assuming that is what u r saying, but u r very ambiguous and non-specific. I placed Fences around my plot because there is a large group of enemies (1 golem, 2 green spectre things and 3 or 4 spriggan's) right next to my house. I can be within the bounds of my own plot and they will aggro on me. I placed fences to block them from getting to me. But after fighting back and forth with them to even place the wooden logs, it was to no avail!! They just walked right through them, stunned me and dropped me before i had the chance to blink.

[FRAC-1804] Killing a rabbit with a bow
I killed a rabbit using a bow, and i don't have the right to loot my own kill.
-
RE: [FRAC-1788] Can't set permissions for chests
That probably wont be available as a feature till beta

RE: Week 113 - Weekly Drawing Winners

RE: Ideas you thought your were great but turned out not to be?
But it shouldn't seem like a chore. Whether it is done or not is completely up to you. You don't HAVE to do them every day.

RE: Ideas you thought your were great but turned out not to be?
@Gothix said in Ideas you thought your were great but turned out not to be?:
Daily quests. When i first started playing MMOs, i thought daily quests were great. Something fun to do, and you can do it repeatedly, since they are not only "one time" opportunity that expires when done.
Later on i very much changed my mind, and afterwards, I always hated daily quests from the bottom of my soul.
Something mandatory that you "have to" do every day to not miss out on benefits. Making the game a job.
I see your point, however... In a lot of circumstances, if there weren't any daily quests, there wouldn't be any reason at all to get on after a certain point, because there would be nothing to do if you do log in, whether it be for a repeating task to gradually reach a goal to improve or otherwise.
I don't really know if daily quests would tie in with this game though, being a player driven economy, but it does bring up the point of... What ARE we going to do from day to day if we don't? After we have finished the knowledge system, then what? What will drive players to keep playing when they reach 100%?

RE: Hey Everyone!
If we end up on at the same time, it could be a possibility. I have set up to hopefully play in a large group run by @LilCassiopeia (who will eventually be the leader of a township if all things go to plan). Never know, you could end up joining us all if we get to meet up ^c^ I am sure there would be at least a few other groups of people that might be doing the same
