Going Worldwide - Regional Servers & Localization
-
Hi everyone!
Today, we’re going to tackle another topic which has been discussed aplenty, with lots of sensitive feedback being received over time: regional servers and localization.
Our vision on the matter largely conflicted with that of the Fractured community. What have we done to address that?
As always, let us know what you think of this update and let’s keep the support for our Kickstarter campaign going strong. 9 days to go, we can make it happen!
Enjoy Fractured!

Hurray!! HOW MANY POINTS WITH THE SERVERS!
I'm doing the translation^^ минус 70 мин жизниПеревод готов!

Good news!!
-
Hopefully we will get at least 2 servers so Europe can has it's own!
-
Oh holy Gotti, our Devs are Geeks, i‘m very sure now!
-
Love the fact that Dynamight, Intrepid, PLAYWITH, and a few other studios are all becoming more involved with their communities. Its a driving force that is going to change the MMO world and how companies interact with their customers.

@Prometheus
To the part of splitting user think about a worldwide one, because some of us have friends all over the world and want not to get splitted.
Me per example has people at my recruits from Mexico till Russia.
I would not be happy, if i would getted split by them.
-
I looooove this!
-
@kralith maybe they find a solution like pairing with friends ^^
i support the decision with more servers and regional servers
better latency - better game experience
-
WOW!!!! That's really good news!!!!! Thanks >.<
-
Yay! So glad to see this
-
For player from Europe, focused mostly on pvp such as myself it's really good news, thanks DS

@kralith I think, if they provide more servers does not mean, that you are forced to log in your nearest one. If all of you join on one server, then you will be still able to play together on the same server, but you will have to "deal" with bad latency (maybe).
But you would have dealt with that as well, if there would have been only one worldwide server anyway. So more servers "just" mean more flexibility, which is good!

And if they don't want to chose to play on the same server as you... well, then maybe they weren't so good recruits as you thought.

Don't split the servers just do a worldwide one. Making more servers could easily kill the playerbase on one server to another, just look at Bless Online. They had a whole bunch of servers, and each server playerbase just killed itself one by one because not enough players.
Albion Online did the one server thing, and it improved greatly through testing and working hard at it. So, I support the one s thing espically for this type of MMO. Everyone who don't support the one server idea and want mutiple servers are the ones that just going to play casually, and then bitch later on and say ''The playerbase is dying.'' Which is dumb, but seen it happen many times before.
-
Hmmm... well splitting userbase is hopefully done after you know that theres enough to keep the server alive. Or you might need to merge these again, which would be hard with how citys and stuff work.
How will you handle the city perks and stuff liek statues?
AND most importantly... pleaes don't outsource it to a localicatuon agency. These are all crappy as hell.
Rather give the "crowd" ... us the usersbase the chance to translate it from one language to another. It's free. Maybe a bit free dynamight gold or a nice handshake, so not fully free.
It's accurate. Not at the start, but the longer it's up. The more people will check over it.
It's barely trolled .. there's always a few blacksheep, but rather having an skill be named "Mr.Frog.Meme" and "spawn best meme" for a few minutes or hours. Then the crappy translation of agencys who take good money for it ... forever.I had good experience with CrowdIn and similar databases with a few other indie development games.

Good to know the server will be close for almost everyone
-
splitting servers is the most stupid thing you can do on a game like this

They are wonderful recruits.
But why i should want from them to get splitted by their other friends in their own countries with which they want to play too?
A worldwide acting server can get the ones together who want to play worldwide.

Excellent news. I like knowing I'll have a server right next to me. Also should open up many more higher tiers if you're planning on selling them post KS.
