How do people get so many points?

This is kind of random, but I was wondering how you get to the higher rewards for the foundation (eg. Ambassador). It seems like you would have to recruit a lot of people or win a bunch of the weekly draws.
Is there some way to get higher up faster? Can you get points from sponsorship packages or something?

beside said things, the weekly drawings can give you a nice boost.
But to be honest, all people in the range of 40k are here for more than 10 month.
I'm not at 40k yet and i joined 10 months ago. I missed the first weeks the daily 50 points, but i'm quite active since many months, so it is not surprising to be on top.
It's all about patience.Is there some way to get higher up faster? Can you get points from sponsorship packages or something?
It is you making "faster" with the points you can get from weekly drawings .
You can't buy them.

A few days ago someone claimed to be in the #3 spot with only 3 referrals, and said he would still be #3 if he didn't have any of them.
You just have to remain active. Winning a weekly raffle helps, but is not required.
I even went inactive for a month or two and I'm still in the top 150 myself. I'll probably get a prealpha key

@wolfkomodo46 I have a lot of recruits but they give me few points. Most ppl are slackers and don't lvl up.
Weekly drawings and ambassador drawing got me most points

People have created tons of sock puppet accounts to look like they got lots of new recruits, and this has been a big problem in judging how big this community really is, versus how many accounts are just sock puppets.

I got to my rank (lvl 143) without having friends.
I was here early, so got a lot of points from daily messages and was lucky enough to win weekly draw 5 times.So just make sure you post daily and make it good posts and not just a simple message in the daily post thread, so you are eligible for the weekly draw. Also share the news stories on FB and twitter.
And having friends doing the same will help a lot.

My account celebrated it's first birthday a while ago. Everyday a daily post, every post read and retweeted and reposted.
I've won no competitions whatsoever.
I was inactive for about a month or so, so would have been further but it is what it is. The first days were hard because news was infrequent, and there were only snippets of information and a concept to get hyped on.
But look where we are now!

Yeah, just grind away with dailies and facebook/twitter share. Although I have had a horseshoe up my bum and won 4 of the 1k drawings already. That definitely helps.

That was me (on Discord). I'm at 46,195 points, and #4 is at 43,875 points (so a 2320 points margin). My three recruits have earned me a total of 900 points. (If somebody's really curious, they can send me a chat message and I'd provide details on my point distribution
). Basically, it's daily postings for me (and as a result a decent amount of won weekly drawings) over the last several month.

I'm eight without any friend
(yeah, I have one recruit, but I think she have forget about this game x) ). Winning some ambassador and weekly drawing get me near to the top

Those drawings were key for most IMO.. 2,000 and 1,000 points are nothing to laugh at when you consider level 70 is only 14,000 points total.
When the community was smaller, the pool of winners was smaller. Combine that with 20+ daily points and another 50 points for posting each day and one month can be 2,100+ points for these folks.
