Farmer/ Herder or Miner/ Woodcutter?
-
Haha, I came here and I see mostly wow pictures on peeps profiles. I'm excited because I want to be a farmer not just fight. I guess that's the cool thing about Fractured is that, unlike WoW, its sand box and you can interact with the land. I cant decide which side I should choose!

You can have more than one toon
-
you can have 1 of each plus 1 of each opposite karma. not sure what the max character limit is but we should have at least 6.
-
Doesn't matter how many character slots we get. I'm sure they will be selling character slots in the cash shop.
And yeah. Looking forward to be a farmer or maybe a blacksmith (or maybe both) and craft useful items for adventurers.
Seeing how it's full looting when killed, weapons and armor is always needed, and so is food. So looks like a good career path to take.

@jetah what do you mean ?
-
@evolgrinz I am excited the same way you are about choosing a "city-life" character to craft and support other players in selling my crafted items.
However, I am a bit concerned if we can really enjoy this "way of life" with this knowledge-system or more specifically with this resting-system as I stated in the other thread New Ultima Online?
Please feel free to reply, I would be interested what you think about my concerns.
Cheers!

It wouldn't be a complete city-life, as we would need to venture outside the city walls in search for resources and we would need to be able to defend ourselves.
Possible going out and explore to find rare recipes etc.
But I do share your concern that everyone will end up crafting most of the stuff they need themselves. Aside from being a farmer perhaps, what takes more time investment.Unless there is a special skill tree or whatnot that you can focus on to be better at crafting than someone who doesn't. Like being able to craft stronger armor and weapons. Perhaps being able to craft items using less resources, so you can sell items for less than it would cost for someone to make it without having those skills.
And perhaps even be able to unlock unique recipes.

@redinsanity if you like
1- farmer ? you could start like a beastman
2- if you want to be a farmer and a fighter you could start like a human (or change your aligned bestman's alignement to neutral)
3 if you like pvp more you could start Demon

Thats the good thing at Fractured, you will be able to play whatever you want.
Thats a part of the system, that carebears can enjoy the game as much hardcore fighter will enjoy it.
I‘m just curious how good the system will work at the end.

Everything is essential to the game, so everything has an impact. If I were to tell you, I'd say pick one of them, and let one of your friends pick the other and start from there.

Like to own a nice little tavern in the middle of no where, with no rules other then dont spill the ale
-
Very true. That's what they make alts for.
-
I distinctly recall hearing that you begin with 2 character slots.
-
@fibs It was changed to 3 character slots.
-
Definitely will be doing couple things as ppl mentioned can have more than one toon.
-
That's wonderful man, I hope other players can't kill my herd?
-
miner so i can craft armor
-
miner woodcutter most likely but tbh its to early to say for certain
-
Right now it's hard to make those decisions because we don't know if we will be limited in our choices. Can we only have one or two professions or can one person do it all if they want to put the time and resources into it. I'm hoping that Q&A tomorrow will clear up some of the questions although I'm sure we'll have a whole new set of questions afterwards.

I plan on becoming a nerf herder. (Please make a demon animal named a nerf).
