Finally an MMO with an promising Idea
-
If the developers do the things right, this could be a really good MMO and may be able to rescue the genre MMO.
I am really interested in the future for this MMO.

Welcome @Mapolo30 I also hope that this mmo will be the one that will save the genre

As a fellow MMO lover I have to say rescuing the genre will take a much more drastic change (no offense to Fractured) and also a better time in the life cycle of game genres.
-
I disagree.
I think Albion Online tapped into what the genre needs, but the developers just weren't skilled enough, or listening to the right people. I think that sense of open-world, sandbox, dangerous style MMO is exactly what could save the genre.
-
@mapolo30 welcome aboard new friend yeah let's cross our fingers to see mething better than Albion initial design.

@dulu Albion was just a super grinfy gankbox with a with a system "conquering the territories" monopolized by the top guilds. We do not need something so exclusive just for few players.
-
@finland We certainly don't need another carebear "everyone wins", "free stuff" MMO.
Albion was exciting for the first few months because it offered challenge, and clear winners and losers.
If you sucked, you were a bottom feeding pleb. If you had skill, either in economics, diplomacy, or combat, you rose to the top and became god-like.
Games need that. Plebs need something to strive for.
-
@dulu Albion is not for carebears considering that the end game is just in red/black zones. This game is not going to be a shitty gankbox aka AO. You can not sell a game for 10 people. you need people to make money and making a game where none playes is a dead game. The point is not the skill in a game like albion that was just grindy/gear based. I have not sucked there I just hate to see an MMO empty.
-
Also, with Albion, I think it suffers by being available on Android and iOS. There's just not a lot to do with those OS's and I think it would eventually hold them back in what new features they could expand on or release. And it opens a lot more opportunity for botting or spammers. I was glad to see Fractured will not be released for phones and tablets, so they won't have to hold themselves back for that market.

We are all excited to see how this MMO will turn out! Welcome aboard!
-
Yep, all around here are people with high hopes, welcome to the journey to hopefully fulfillment!

@dulu lol Albion please. First up you're focusing on old school RPGs with near full loot system. These type of games aren't as popular these days because a large majority of people focus on PVE over PVP in MMO these days and would rather not have a system where they can be punished or griefed by other players. I had predicted Albion wouldn't be as successful as some would say, and guess what it turns out just the way I thought it would. I'm not saying its a bad game or anything, but if you want something big in the MMORPG community, even if Albion had been further improved, it would still be nowhere as big as 1/10th of league or fortnite's player base. Something fundamentally different has to come out in the MMORPG genre to drastically change it. Sandbox/open-world? Nothing new. Full loot? Not new either. You might as well call it a modern version of Runescape in its core fundamentals. Albion pretty much makes a system where you had to grind hard and play hard, so it didn't cater to the more casual side of the gaming spectrum. In no way could Albion ever succeed. Sorry to burst your bubble if you're a big fan of Albion, but the truth is the truth. At this point, I don't see any MMORPG on pc/consoles turning as big as wow back in the days or even majorly big (the yet to release but already known MMORPGs might have a decent player base, but nothing revolutionary enough). Well, if you still don't understand, let time tell its tale.
