What defines Vandiir’s identity?

Our Philosophy
We want to not only play with our friends as a community, but also leave a lasting impact on the worlds we play in.

Our Leaders
@Savitr, known on discord as Pteroguin, is a man driven not only by his love of dinosaurs and penguins, but also his love for our community. It’s a love that the second-in-command Plume also shares. Savitr and Plume may be the heads of Vandiir as an overall organization, but you will find that our group has many leaders who stand out and thrive in various games.

The name of our Group
Vandiir is a unique and lively group of people that are as close-knit as a family. Such a group deserves a name just as unique. Savitr came up with a name that he thought not only sounded good, but was also one he had never heard used. He later found out to his chagrin that an artist had been using it for many years, but the name had already stuck.

The purpose of our Group
Vandiir is a gaming community that Savitr created when he wanted to forge a place where his friends could play together in Chronicles of Elyria (another Kickstarter MMO). Vandiir may have been organized based on Chronicles of Elyria, but it is not solely a community centered around it. Our purpose is to hang out and have fun regardless of what game we happen to be playing at the time.

How do we intend to approach this game?

Metagaming vs Roleplaying vs Science
Vandiir is often taken to be “metagamers” at first glance, but we actually don’t subscribe to a particular playstyle. Our community has a core group that really enjoys what we call “science”, and it is this science that gives off that particular impression. I will say that Vandiir honestly enjoys trying out every option as a group to find out what works best, but any bugs discovered along the way are reported properly to the development team of whichever game we are playing. It’s more about the journey than simply reaching the finish line first.

Alignment
Our members have shown interest in each of the races and planets, giving us quite the conundrum with the way guilds and planets are locked to specific alignments. Our core organization is likely to be a neutral-based guild with branches on each planet as a result. If necessary, we will split the main guild into three separate allied parts to match each alignment in order to make the most of Fractured’s unique features.

Please keep in mind that I wrote my posts geared for a Chronicles of Elyria based gaming community. I didn't talk about all features or even the best features because I hoped our people would discover the charms of Fractured for themselves.

My guild is wanting to work with another guild. I have a few questions and concerns about how this might work.

Deleting our guild and merging into theirs is very simple on the surface, but I was looking through information and found this.

An election cycle can be triggered in the following ways:

• In free towns, if 21 days have passed since elections were last held
• In guild towns, if the governor changes or leaves the guild (on purpose or because he’s been kicked out)
• In all towns, when the Governor’s account becomes inactive for a long time, without an assigned delegate

Town and Government Politics Feature Spotlight

Would joining another guild put our governors at risk? Could there town be stripped away at any time for any reason even if they do everything correctly, or are there checks and balances for this?

Is there any way to declare an alliance at this time? The only information I could find about alliances is that they exist. It'd be kind of nice to be able to reflect an intended alliance in Foundation.

Racial differences.

Will there be a way to make multi-racial guilds work in the game? Trade between planets will be lucrative if dangerous. Cultural Differences versus Economic Benefits. How deep can an alliance between two different planets go, and what is the best way to actually achieve it mechanically? It was possible for humans to have a neutral guild with both races the last I heard (I can't find a quote), but I think it was referring to the different races coming to the human planet and joining a guild there. Is it possible for guilds on different planets to ally or even merge into a larger cross-planet guild? How would such a guild work.

Some of my questions may sound a little silly, but please bear with me. I'd really like some sincere answers on this. The thought of making such cross-culture alliances may be looked down upon as impossible or stupid considering the obvious distinction between planets. However, I do want to make friends even as a little demon. Afterall, alliances are arguably more important in war than in peace.

Joining our guild is not required, although I would prefer citizens be communicative and cooperative regardless of guild.

At the very least on the moving black bar on the top. I usually click fractured forum (to take me to the top) and then fractured logo. If that static bar had the emblem it wouldn't require any of these steps to swap back. ^_^

@canterbury I like Titan Quest so I picked up the anniverary edition for myself and a few friends, as well as World’s Adrift for friends. The sales are good. Today it looks like there are a lot of franchise sales with the most notable being Civilization.

Actually, Titan Quest Anniversary is a decade old ARPG remastered to work better on newer systems. I’ve always found it a lot of fun and I saw a multiplayer option although I haven’t tested it yet. It’s similar enough to Fractureds premise to play while waiting for it to release. ^_^

Very well said Polaris. I find the jump from beginning content to the most advanced mobs currently on the map currently very disconcerting for tutorial content. Hopefully your feedback makes this a little easier on future players.

One suggestion I might make is an optional tutorial or a taskboard of some type in the starter town that outlines certain features of fractured that are not easy for beginners including items like the map icons or even combat that is less intuitive such as hovering the mouse for aiming.

The bug reports subforum might have a higher chance of getting a response!!

I believe so, but then again I'm an Alpha I backer.

If you are looking for playable content, I suggest checking out some of the streams going on right now as well as the post announcing what features are available to test. This is a alpha and we are doing testing, it's not an early access that you would expect a lot of content to explore in. The devs add a little at a time as they work on their templates that will be used to further expand the world later.

If you are looking to support an amazing project with a high chance of success led by devs still working despite the quarantine in Northern Italy, and maybe get a few items out of it, it's worth it 10/10 times.

@Jetah It's less an attempt to hide it, and more that I don't feel qualified to create a public guide. I can try, but that will have to happen tomorrow.

For now, here are some quick resources.

1. The Official Quickstart Guide
   Hit record, but not stream, per the guide.
2. 
   This video is not high quality, but keeps to the point. Primarily, it shows someone using the program and manually adjusting some settings.

1. Unable to drag skills from the skills and abilities window
   As it sounds. I wasn't able to use the poison blade skill since I couldn't place it on my hotbar. I learned the skill from the spiderling, unlocked it with KP, and added it to my preset at the campfire.

2. Accidentally equipped my poison to my ammo slot on my character window
   Not only did this make me unable to equip arrows, it made my character model on the character window show as a default male with no equipment. This escalated the next time I logged in.

It wasn't possible to open windows in addition to the obvious issues in the image above, I couldn't open windows with key shortcuts including esc.

The second attempt to play the Tilde character had the world load correctly, but had numerous graphical issues as seen above.

Fighting an animal caused the character window to look normal, except for the male character model. The endurance/health/mana bars started refilling from zero until they reached a reasonable level. The energy and food bars remained abnormally full, and most crafting stopped just before completion. Other characters seemed to work as normal
