Searching for a tool for recording bugs in a short video clip.
-
I am searching now for a while in internet, because i want to capture some of the bugs i am facing, but somehow i don't find the right tool for it.
But i don't want to capture the whole Game Window, i want to capture just a part of it for some frames, enough to capture the problem itself, but not the whole things around.Like this normal screen snip but in motion:
Anyone of you have an idea, how to do it?
Edit: I found some tools with names like "Screen Recorder", but not a good one yet.
So my question stays, if someone knows a good tool for it that is recommended.

@Kralith OBS Is what I use to record bugs for the devs. https://obsproject.com/

@Kralith I also use OBS. You don't have to stream to record, although that does help with sharing the videos. It is kind of weird and unintuitive at first, so dm me if you'd like some help setting it up? The finished product is worth it.

you'll just have to record the whole screen, then crop it.
@Plume
probably just better to write it up for everyone instead of hiding it.
-
@Jetah It's less an attempt to hide it, and more that I don't feel qualified to create a public guide. I can try, but that will have to happen tomorrow.
For now, here are some quick resources.
- The Official Quickstart Guide
Hit record, but not stream, per the guide.
This video is not high quality, but keeps to the point. Primarily, it shows someone using the program and manually adjusting some settings.

@Jetah indeed it is a bit tricky to setup, depending on your system.
I had first some struggle with records that got very low FPS.
A short guide maybe would not lead to a proper setting.
This Program has a good own knowledge-base/wiki and a forum, where you can get some hints when you have problems.My conclusion after a day of testing, the program really is worth a look.
I tried others before, but OBS gave me most intuitive adjusting features.So thanks again for the commendation

a short guide is something to guide you, not give every possible answer to.

@Jetah i know
Maybe, if i used it a while, i will create a guide about "How to record with OBS".
