Identifying Guilds...

Dark Age of Camelot had an awesome system where you had the option to dye, or enamel your armor different colors, but also place your guilds logo on your shield, or cloak.
To me, this was always cooler than WoWs tabard system. But I think the tabard is a nice option if you have the other things as well.
Trust me when I say there is nothing cooler than seeing your guild getting ready for a battle or a raid, and everyone has their matching color schemes and insignia.

I did like the cloaks in DAoC. Having a combo of all of it might be the best. I am not a fan of covering all my armor and skins with guild clutter though. Being able to toss out a battle standard or carry one in town might be cool as a option.
-
I like the idea of there being some options for showing guild affiliation.
-
i think we have to have freedom of choice either we want our guild logo on gear or not. how??? keep reading....
also i suggest that we have spy game. so if you get enemy cape with their logo you can wear it and enemies will think you are one of their own and they wont attack you untill you start first. that would be very cool. i sick and tierd when game force you to be happy to wear guild logo. people are not happy if they forced to be happy. so if we also will have freedom of wearing any cape we want that will add some more tactics in combat and more fun.
maybe if we collected a lot of enemies capes we wear them all and enter their city center and kill them all. i bet there will be more fun then confusion.
all games force players wear your own cape, like you put on some cape and it automatically becomes your guilds cape. if we wanna keep player play our game we need to make some thing different from what majority of games force you to do.

Optional guild logos on things would be cool. As to the spy feature, it could well be turned around by guilds that NEVER wear guild logo stuff in town... spy comes in and gets brutally murdered.
There's a lot of possibilities there, if it is optional. I also do like it being able to be placed on a couple different pieces of gear as well, although cloaks or armor will likely be the only reasonable choices with the isometric angles.
-
maybe they can implement Tabard? would be cool. and you wont be able to see what armor is on enemy? why its cool? cos usualy game give you a lable if you wear a top geat "LOOK AT THIS GUY!!!! HE IS TOP!!!" same for low gear. but with tarbard this will be always intrigue, just a bunch of guys in blue tarbards, who is strong? who is weak? you dont know. all you know just classes, this one is tank, this one is support. thats it. and you can steal tabards and wear them haha
-
@boogis of course it should be optional.
While I think it's a great idea I think there was a talk that we won't be able to use custom images for guild logo.
-
@tulukaruk as i remember it was said it is not planned, but that not means it will not be such an option in future.
All is depending on how they guildsymbols will implement i think.
-
It is also difficult to show off guild wares when in a isometric view. I do hope that some interesting ways will exist to find out guild and alliances visually, either by game mechanics or simply by looking at players. Again though, with cash shop items being visual hiding them under guild stuff may not be an option for some people.

@mazikar
i'm just getting tired of the "place icon on the nameplate" thing.
-
maybe they can make guilds cloth sold in a game shop. what do u think? its like, you wanna feel special? pay real money

the guild purchases a design. the material and placement shouldnt cost the member.

@jetah yes

I would love to have a cool guild crest and colors on my shield/tabard.
-
What would be sort of cool, is if the Guild leader could issue a command like "Guild Show" and every member of their guild (in the immediate area) has their armor shift appearance to the guild colors, or get an aura with the guild symbol behind them. It goes back to normal after 30 minutes, or if you get out of range, but, just the idea of having this ragtag bunch of people watching a confrontation between guild heads, and then "You and what army" guild show "This army." And it turns out that most of the crowd are their guldies XD just the effect would be cool XD
-
That does sound pretty awesome
-
I like the idea of Guild Crest that are shown during Guild fights.
https://www.crunchyroll.com/record-of-grancrest-war
that anime has some neat ideas on the crest. in that it can be imbued with magic to boost a stat.
-
Sounds good , a cloak would be cool to show off what guild U r in
-
I dont like cloaks and i always hide them if possible. But i like choices, i would like to buy shields/tabards/cloaks and banners with guild crests.
-
Yeah, I'd like a way to show off my guild, too.
