Fall Alpha Launch & Dev Update #2

As far as time invested in crafting things, I don't think it will be a turnoff. Archeage had some pretty long craft times for certain things, and it worked fine within the game for players. (Monetization and P2W killed that game instead lol)

I have never played the game, so I can't really judge what you're stating there or compare it. I'd have to wonder though, if there's plenty alternative, why do people willingly accept basic 'slavery'? If there's some sort of force, sure, that's going to happen. But remember that Fractured is planned to be a massively large world (being a LOT LOT bigger than most other games in terms of terrain is somewhat of a selling point behind SpatialOS) with plenty of cities with plenty of nodes. And you can't just 'dominate' people either, since progression isn't grind and vertical based.

Might be getting some free time soon, been mighty busy for a while. Hope to get back into the swing here!

First time for you? Then prepare yourself to be thrilled by the nice landscapes and recipies you find

Im personaly very imterested to see how the trading post will operate in practice. Ans how many people will, and for what reasons try to go "around it". If any will.
Taxes, black market,... will probably happen due to various reasons and politics.

@Ostaff Sorry if I talk about things that's already set in the game or not how the game works. I'm really new here and haven't played yet.
-
No problem, its how we all learn.
-
Super excited for mining and blacksmithing!
-
How long do you expect this alpha to be live? Going forward are the alphas and betas going to be temporary until around go-live / early access release? Temporary meaning each update will be a full reset and only active for a short time until the next update comes out?
-
@KirwinHansel It'll last for at least a month, and yes it's done in phases with a wipe at the end of every test.

And actually it is quite nice that everything is always beeing resetted In this way we can always try new starting positions and new housing styles
