Hopefully not, because this would eliminate danger of travelling manually.
I'd personally prefer if teleports between different planets were the only kind of existing teleports.Not if it's 4 just to get to certain corners of the map that really don't lead to anything at all. It's more for mapping purposes

@esher From what I understand, players don't decide where roads go. Their pathing is just part of the map. In a future version, roads will start as part of the wilderness and have to be developed/upgraded/maintained by players, but in alpha 1 all roads will already be built and won't degrade.

I am not sure they aren't thinking that @Esher . And it has worked fine in a number of other sandbox style games, at least. Especially near town it should be okay.
I doubt people will invest the huge amount of time to build and maintain roads for griefing, because I expect covering a large area with them would be a huge undertaking.

@jairone Yeah, sure ^^ I asked that especially if there was two towns that was not linked by roads. After, it could be a job for some players, to build and maintain roads (not the best job, sure x) ), and maybe a guild of road worker could emerge, and they'll be paid by owners of town that hire them

Oh my, just imagine the possibilities if that was the case.
- Some dedicated guild building roads right next to other roads, turning once fertile land into an extremely well paved lifeless hellscape, covering first an island, then a continent, and then the WOOOORLD!
- Veterans creating a circular, closed off road loop in the middle of nowhere as a noob trap for newbie explorers.
- Two rival small towns, opposite of one another, vying for dominance over the only road connected to the local player hub, using its erratic curve to create confounding crossroads that con candid characters into cruising closer to their conniving chamber of commerce.

I'd say the latter, but it's too early to tell, the whole architecture of dungeons is something we still have to fully define

Teleportation exists but it very limited - more info at the end of this article.

We'll use it for the game as well, and the system there will mimic browser cookies. Won't be IP-based.

I guess by previous habit, but it's not something we control directly, it's a new feature from our marketing campaign service (which some competitor services had been providing for a while already)
