Allergy to various types of food.
-
How about to add allergy. It can be random for every character or bounded with races. Eating allergic food will place a Debuff on your character, but at the same time, it will help avoid starvation.
-
ok ok ... but why?
-
@lohen idk... Another hardcore point, when you are on the other planet. Everything for the total immersion into the game, haha.
-
mhhhh could be funny with enough variation in food
-
@croshee This will not happen (I think so) . Developers want to make debuffs and depending on the state of the character and the disease (strong debuffs). So that hardly lit we their will see.
-
How about no?
-
This sound a bit weird, but why not. However I don't want this in a game where you need to have luck to find food if you don't have any food left. SO
-
I kinda want to say yes just because it would be funny to hear people cry about their characters' food or bee or whatever allergies. But I don't want my character to have allergies so I'm going to say no too. I have enough allergies in real life.
-
for me, thatβs a bad idea and the devs will not want to add that feature because thatβs depend on rng and they hate rng

If taking an allergy got me 1 point in character creation (so all those builds on the non-human side where 1 more point means the difference between a 9 and a 10), I'd go for it XD Demons would probably have it worst - low biosphere on Tartaros means fewer food options. Beastmen would seem to have lots of options, while humans would have the most. Tartaros Eclipse invasions are food/beer runs? XD

I would like to note, however, that burning hot Tartaros climate would burn all pollen from the air, and most of other bacteria. So less food, but also less sources of allergies overall.

That's not how food allergies work...

Oh right, this thread was only about food allergies. But, hey, if we would have allergies, then we would need to have both food allergies, pollen alergies etc. So Tartaros would have problem with food choices, and Arboreus with lots of pollen. The balance. Humans could have problem with sewer systems, rat transmitted diseases, and steampunk industrial pollution.

I think we can generalize that a little bit and it may actually be a neat idea (though probably for another game) - every character has some sort of issue / weakness, may it be allergies or headaches or whatever. You don't choose what your problem is, you only get to know about it once you begin your journey. You also don't know what other characters' problems are but if you find that out you can take advantage of it.
-
@nightcoder I like this idea. nothing major, but making it a bit of a thing. Like, you are allergic to a certain tree's pollen. -10% movement when you are within 20 feet of that type of tree, and for 1 minute after being so - cause you're sneezing.
you're lactose intolerant. potions or foods made with milk or cheese cause -10% health regen for 1 hour after, cause your guts are not happy.
Rock dust is no good - screen gets slightly blurry until you can wash your eyes out. stay out of canyons.
Peanut allergy (minor) - food containing peanuts give you a 5% poison malus that engages once a minute until the malus is removed, or 10 minutes have past.
Wool - wearing wool makes you break out in hives, which is highly distracting, -5% to accuracy and evasion while wearing wool. may occasionally lose control of the character as they scratch furiously. go naked, it's less embarrassing.
-
@therippyone Cool! But I think, that it will be a challenge to add so many different types of allergies. (Ideas for hardcore server, keep in mind...)(they will create a hardcore server, I know...(hope)
-
allergies could be done in a way that a buff food doesn't give that buff. it just replenishes the resource but nothing else or replenishes it a slower rate.
If there are allergies then there should be favorites, which give a bigger buff or replenishes more than normal.
I'd prefer to have a complete random on this.
-
I think this is an unnecessary complication.
-
Sounds like it could be interesting, but at the same time sounds really annoying as well.
Issa no from me.
-
I think it's a bit too much ^^ It could be interesting for hardcore players, maybe.
