Tech Tree, Marketplace & Money For Dynamight
-
Hi all!
Today's update brings some awesome news and a... less-awesome one: a spotlight on new big features is here, more $$$ for Dynamight are coming, but the Winter Alpha has been moved to March.
See you soon for the next video spotlight!
-
Great news with that GTR stuff! You're really doing well with that few people already!
-
Congrats on GTR!
-
So many YT views already - folks are chomping at the bit! This vid is gonna make some waves, methinks.
Question: do city owners start with a certain number of Research Points?
In an alpha situation, w a very limited time frame, it's gonna be tough to wait days or weeks to complete the basic researches. Choosing btw farming, architecture, & manufacturing, for example. Yike!
When things launch for real it might be more realistic, but if we only have a month or so? Or am I misunderstanding something?
-
"The next time we’ll make sure to avoid mentioning a specific month and indicate a quarter instead."
That's the way, avoid missing deadlines by giving vague dates!
Jokes aside, keep up the good work, you deserve every single success you obtain because your idea and dedication are really good!
And I haven't played the game yet!

no veo la hora de ver el juego en plataforma de steam para comprarlo, ya que es el único medio que uso para comprar juegos.

Excellent news!
Grats!!!!
-
very interesting news

Congratulations on the GTR partnership!
I'm glad you're not trying to overextend and instead stay on the save, financially stable terrain.
Good luck on the evil city conquest mechanics that you're currently struggling with, take your time, as long as you let people know, I'm sure they are content with waiting a little longer for a good result instead of getting something wonky rushed out

So does the marketplace remove the need to transport any and all materials now ?, and how will this affect the possibilty of raiding transport groups in transit, has this just been removed fromthe game. ?
-
@Stacy555 you still need to bring materials TO the marketplace from where you gathered them, so you're still raidable if the trip is long enough.

Nope, but there are a few things you can build without any research: houses, the tavern, stockpiles, and the workshop with all the basic crafting stations. Given that cities require 20 players to be claimed now, gaining the first levels is going to be pretty quick, and each level grants 2 research points (= 2 researches), so.. you're soon going to have a flourishing city

Correct!

Marketplaces are local I didn't specify that in the video since I assumed it was a known thing, sorry for the confusion.
-
Congrats on securing the additional funding! I am intrigued at watching the continued development and the checking out the Winter Alpha.

I saw in the marketplace there is a way to sell buy it now but what about being able to set an auction with a time limit for people to bid stuff up?

That's not an option, sorry! It's a marketplace, not an auction house

Super big congrats on the top 10!
Awesome to get new funding.I'm not bothered by postponement. It just means more content is coming.

I'm concerned about how sieges being tied into the tech tree will play out. Unless I missed something, it seems like newer guilds that miss the land grab but have the manpower to take over cities won't be able to siege if they don't have access to a cities tech tree? It kinda seems like only the early guilds who happen to take control of a city plot early will be able to siege, due to the "warfare research" being required to attack another city. Also how will sieges work on Tartaros where demon's don't have access to a tech tree?
-
@WaterMerchant that's a really good concern, I didn't think about it.
In fact, where would a guild without a city do its stuff in general?
Being the game not instanced you can't have the equivalent of a guild hall somewhere since you can't have it in the real world, so without a city your guild power will be severely limited.
This can though generate some interesting interactions, for example a guild sponsoring another guild by triggering a war to conquer a city for it, or something like that.
Or maybe they'll just implement other ways to wage war.

As long as you don't team up with a pay-to-win publisher and turn the game into a microtransaction-infested casino. Or get tied to a publisher that adds nothing then closes the servers after a year or less. I hope you choose...wisely.

According to the last update, guilds can inhabit cities they don't own. Though the governing guild can still hassle them or spike their taxes if they want too. I just hope the solution to cityless guilds being able to launch sieges, isn't them launching on behalf of the governing guild, because that would be kinda awkward if you wanna be on good terms with a neighbor and they start seeing random guilds using your city as a staging ground to attack them.
