@anasfract there are quite some games that tell you that you can make real money in them, but I think that in the end that concept will ruin the idea of gaming, since people will only do content to gather in game money and try to sell for real life money, generating inflation and pulling people away from fun content and towards reward-only content.
All in all I'd say no to that.

RE: March Winter Alpha?
@drfate786 if a specific date existed, they would have told us, the fact that they don't tell us depends on the fact that it doesn't exist.
That said, the Alpha should have started in February, and the team already apologized for being late, and also stated that they could not provide a specific date as yet.
So far alpha phase specific dates have been posted with a couple week advance, so if no date is out yet you can expect no alpha in the next 14 days, likely.
Again that said, inconveniences are always around the corner when developing a game with a small team, and it's sadly easy to be unable to deliver the wanted content in the wanted time, so while it can be annoying for us waiting, we cannot enforce dates from the team, because they just don't have any.
That said, Amazon delayed New World for like an year now, and further delayed alpha phases and releases every time they got close, and they are BIG, so imagine what can happen when you're not big.
The compromise is between not anticipating alpha periods, so that you won't break any promise, and trying to estimate delivery times, ending up with some failures here and there. -
RE: Tame monsters and make them accompany you
@anasfract taming is already planned, as far as I know, not sure it will work after a fight, and not sure it will encompass every creature existant.
Such a mechanic needs fine tuning, otherwise it could become too strong and require everybody to play the tamer to stay in par. -
RE: The Eviction/Refugee system ( Residential area solution for city takeovers )
@Rife you rise a very good point here, and the solution is not bad.
I would extend that even more maybe, making the governor able to evict people even after city capture, maybe at higher cost the longer the person has been living there, so that if the guild grows more room can be made for new guildies, always at a cost, a rising cost.
The refugee status system is not bad actually, but something in the back of my mind calls out "exploitable!", but I just can't figure out how right now.
All in all nice job, a good point to start from! -
RE: Feb Playtest?? Lesssgoooooo...
@Logain on that I agree, communication is fundamental everytime you need you player base to be compact and supportive.
People can endure hard times if there is good communication, Steam reviews on a lot of early access games prove how good a feeling is for players to be dealing with active and open devs, and on the contrary how damaging silence can be. -
RE: Bounty Hunting & Jails - Official Feedback Thread
@SirAlbion the only thing I agree on is the fact that jail actually puts you out of the game completely, techincally banning you, unless you're willing to play an alt while you wait for your sentence.
It would be nice if you could do something while in jail, like forced labor, mining resources for the community, or something like that to keep you busy somehow. That said, it's necessary to have harsh punishment on a balanced world for PvP against unwilling targets.
You can PvP as much as you can steal in RL, but if you get catched you pay for it and it is just fair.
About the invested time, when ganking you're probably "destroying" days of work for the average PvEr you kill, so it's not like days in jail would be unfair, again given the fact that you can play something somehow. -
RE: Newbie Here, Sorta
@Auromyst welcome on the forum and welcome back to the game, when next alpha will kick in...

RE: Adding Fractured To Steam In Alpha
I agree with Farlander, Steam community can be unforgiven and being plagued by a lot of bad games it can become hostile to a good one which is not polished yet.
Recovering for a bad start on Steam can be hard, better wait for better times and do a better job at being better...

RE: Why are young status players allowed to kill legendaries?
I read about making alt accounts to use again the newbie protection to advantage.
But will accounts be free in the end?
Because if yes then yes, I see a huge exploit problem.
If not, still can it sound a bit like pay to win, since you can make accounts and use the newbie protection to gather critical stuff for your main account.
Maybe in the end you can just lift or highly reduce the span of newbie protection.
Or maybe lift it if certain actions are taken, such as legendary killing partecipation. -

@Neonis I don't think I ever will.

RE: Redo Spell for Divination(or Alteration)
A tuned-down version of this thing can be done without being too much op tho.
Some games implement this kind of time rewind in a limited fashion.
Come to mind Ekko's ultimate in LoL or Mirage's continuum rift in GW2. -
RE: Howdy!
@SevenDF welcome to the forum!
Don't worry for language, as long as message are understandable it's all fine, and yours fits well.
I suppose you'll be oriented to Arboreus when it will be available, I'm also leaning towards that direction actually. -
RE: Why are young status players allowed to kill legendaries?
I agree with @GamerSeuss, especially for the concept of "get into the game since day one", you should not limit people based on the time they played.
On the other end, I wouldn't mind removing the new player protection on game launch, so you can really get into the game since day one, included being ganked, it's a harsh world.
