Feature Spotlight #4 - Skills Galore
-
Hi everybody!
In the last Feature Spotlight, we’ve revealed how character progression works in Fractured, outlining a set of game mechanics collectively known as the Knowledge System.
While we hope we’ve been thorough with our description, we’re aware several of you were left with the question “Alright – but what can you actually learn in the game?”. This new Feature Spotlight is your answer!

As always, let us know what you think about this new sneak peek and check out the last paragraph to find out what we're covering next!
Enjoy Fractured!

Oh yes! Fractured is real. I guess we've reached the point where people can start hyping. The graphics look great, much better than that "screenshot" on the website.
-
Love, I'm very exited.
I can't wait to play it
-
Was I the only one that first watched all the short movies of the gameplay, and only after that went to read the all thing?!
Great info you giving us in this spotlight, not to mention the game graphics and animations are looking great as well, specially for only pre alpha footage Keep up the good workd team
-
Exactly!

so glad that you can be a bard. can't wait for the next journal.
-
Yay for videos Always nice to see some moving pictures.
-
Woohohooo!! Thanks for the update Happy new year to the team!!
-
I like the look of the moves.
As i play at the moment Path of Exile, it feels familiar.
But thats good, now just the MMO, Story, Sandbox thing in there with much possibilities that makes us addicted, and it will be definetivly a game i like.
-
Woot excited for this. Particularly interested in Assassination and Musicianship. Musicianship seems like a fun style of play that I'd want to try out. Assassination deals with poison, which is what I usually go for.
-
Looks good!
-
Graphics from the video definitely remind me of a more vibrant path of exile. Sounds like there will be a ton of customization which seems cool. I'm prolly the best monk to ever play eq2 so martial arts seems interesting 🤯🤯
Looking forward to alpha.
-
This looks pretty cool, I know I am a bit more excited to see this!
-
The ice ray remember me about underwear mask in LOL. Well a LoL MMO could go very far but cant be developed outside Riot The skill system 3+ultimate with reasonable cds could be very good anyway for an MMO. I Always dreamed about using Morgana in a themepark.
-
Warfare is too epic!!

Question:
Will the abilities directed at the nps (without harming them) increase or decrease the relationship to the applying (to the next one who enters with him in the dialog)? Or raising your stats.
-
Having hundreds of REALLY different abilities seems rather ambitious. The ones you presented there seem more like the common average ones you find in every game, featuring much the same effects with a different name and graphics. It's going to be interesting to see if you can really make them different enough.
-
Sweet, can't wait for another!

Yeah, they're very outdated. It's about time we replace them!

Feel free to surprise the world with a cunning bard-assassin

That's pretty much what we're trying to achieve, so... good definition!

You'll be able to build your Morgana-like character on Fractured!

Sorry but I didn't really understand what you're asking

Hold on - what we meant in the Spotlight is that each ability should be as unique as possible within Fractured - for instance, there shouldn't be a "fireball" and a "major fireball" that is just better than the lesser version. Of course many abilities will resemble those you can find in other RPGs or MOBAs - buffs, debuffs, shields, beams, rays, projectiles, summons, mobility, status effects - they're some of the elements we're working with, and they're all well-tested concepts. It's the Knowledge System (character creation / progression / re-building) and the interactions with the environment that make Fractured different in this case - other than the fact that there's no real sandbox MMO with ARPG combat out there yet

I'm really curious how this will all tie in with the crafting side. Can we expect to see similar skill progression there? Will we be able to do both simultaneously or will mastery require focus on one side. Some of the descriptions already show links to effects in crafting, but will crafters be required to go into those few offensive trees?
