      @Saluko said in Lootable Corpse?:

      Not sure if I missed it or not, but will corpses be lootable in pvp ?

      Yes, you can loot an unconscious player but, most likely, it will affect you with the criminal status effect thief. In that case, most NPCs will refuse to trade with you and some city guards may decide to attack you.
      The only exception where stealing is not considered a criminal action is if the robbed victim is another thief or a murderer.

      @asspirin said in Casting speed of spells / attacks:

      Simple question - will all the attacks (except channeled ones) be instant?

      Hello! We will have two different types of non-instant spells:

      Active channeling spells that do whatever they do until the player press the hotkey. They will have a gathering time of about 5 seconds that prevents you from spamming them. (for example, beams work this way)

      And then, we have also channeled spells, in this case, the casting phase is not instant and both the gathering (in this case you will need just to make another attempt) or the casting process (here you will also lose mana or any other resource and the spell will go on cooldown) can be interrupted, causing the spell to end prematurely.

      @asspirin said in Human passives:

      @Xzoviac The fact they have more stats just gives them versatility, but with this logic beastmen are also versatile - you want tank? Go bear. Caster ? Deer. Dps? Tiger or wolf. And beastmen will probably have passives to even widen the gap. Does human race have any advantage then? Im not arguing, it only seems to me that human race will not be very versatile, just allaround lacking.

      Humans won't have passives, but they will have more points to spend on character creation. Another important human advantage is that they will be more resilient in other planets, so they will be able to stay longer with less debuffs.

      We can get COMBAT PETS?? That's awesomesauce. I want one of those elementals for sure.

      Yeah, you will have companions and pets, the second ones can support you in combats!

      @Farlander said in Pet system can be based on UO or Daoc?:

      I hope they are not trainable because that is when balancing starts to become a problem

      In the future we will give you the possibility to teach them Special Abilities and Spells, but I'm speaking about post-release updates.

      @MrTimo said in Healing:

      How is healing going to work in pvp vs pve? Will there be alot of different cleansing spells, buffs, etc...

      There won't be any differences between PvP and PvE. We'd like to create a balanced system giving you cooldowns and mana costs that won't allow to spam healings. For example, there will be "consumable spells" that will use your HP as a cost πŸ™‚

      We're wanting weapon cosmetics, in the similar idea behind illusion magic, where you can physically equip a caster staff (and thus those spells) but have a cosmetic skin of a sword (example).

      There won't be any cosmetic that allows you to drastically change the type of weapon, the only way to change the aspects of things will be through the School of Illusionism πŸ™‚

      @Xzoviac said in Fractured - a living world?:

      Are the npcs, in fractured going to move around, hunt eat kill monsters near there citys, maybe join the local king/tyrants military.

      Even if we are not getting many quests, it would be nice to get a feel/connection for npcs.

      Be like oh shop keeper Eric had just died, and his shop has shut down, or his daughter has taken over, and said npc is sad about the loss of her father...

      I like npcs and I feel like they make a world feel alive, I hope fractured npcs are not just shop drones with no feel movment or memorability

      That's a nice idea! Interacting with living NPCs would be great but, right now, that's not in our priorities. I can say that we want to create important and fundamental NPCs to interact with, especially in the cities, but we will see, It's a topic that we will implement later! πŸ™‚

      I looks like dual wield will be available, what will it be limited to, also what about Fist weapons.

      Dual Dagger / Dagger + Sword / Dual Axe

      Hey guys! The limitations will be just for your off-hand, where you will be able to equip only a "light" weapon. Anyway, there will be also a talent that, once unlocked, will grant you the possibility to use whatever weapon you want in both of your hands!

      @Xzait said in Dual Wield / Fist Weapons:

      that could be a good strategy tho. make your ebemies expect 1 then, then hit them with something else. throw them off. the art of desception!! i wonder if the devs will allow us to do that πŸ˜„ coz it is a legit thing

      Of course, you will be able to change your weapon at the last second! πŸ™‚

      @islesofurth Yeah, Specter is doing a great job, he is here longer than me, and I (and all the Dynamight team) respect him and I'm thankful for this. Remember that I'm not only the Community Manager here, I have other tasks to do but, it doesn't even matter, your complaints are justified and again, I assure you that we are working hard to fix this timing problem. Now let's just focus on the testing weekends and to Alpha 2! πŸ™‚

      @Znirf said in Where is the news of the next test phase...:

      @islesofurth but I was on vacation and the others were focusing on the porting.

      Stop making excuses, when the studio is simply bad at keeping people up to date on events that people have already payed for.

      If you are going to go on holiday, then you need to make sure such events are covered by another staff member or you complete it before hand.
      You should also have provided a statement saying you were going on leave so backers knew not to expect updates.

      This is downright unprofessional and dynamite is certainly not deserving of its fanatics when you act like this
      Get your shit together and start acting like a proper company

      These are not excuses, it's the reality of a small startup as we are. Our priority right now is the game, we want to give you something as soon as possible and I can tell you that we are working hard for that. We had some problems with the porting and we had to shift the schedule a little bit, we are sorry for that but we will make up for it with the Alpha 2! πŸ™‚

      Few notions from my last post ^^. In the text is said that 50 talent points is the maximum, but in that talent tree picture there is 24/60 points unlocked.. πŸ€”

      It seams that some talent nodes costs only 1 point and some 3 points. However, I was wondering does those cost 3 points at once or is there 3 tiers and you can spend 1, 2 or 3 points on them?

      That image is purely for a demonstration purpose; the layout of the talent tree will be slightly different. Anyway, I confirm you that the spendable knowledging points will be 50 πŸ™‚

    • Fractured Content Pills - Week 37, 2019

      Hello guys,
      the Pills are back! After a long and scorching summer, the team has returned to the office, eager to show you all that's cooking at Dynamight's!
      Before that, however, let's go back and talk about Gamescom! Yeah, this august Dynamight Studios succeeded in reaching and conquering the mythical videogames peak of Cologne! Our booth in the business area was a success; we had the opportunity to speak with you and meet new important publishers. By the way, there could be some big news coming up in the future, fingers crossed for us!

      In the picture below, Jacopo, Andrea and Michele with Kralith! What a nice surprise meeting you!

      Gamescom.jpg

      Another important thing that happened the last month is the total overhaul of the store! We added new Founder packs, pet companions and more, and we will update it with new items in the future!

      This is a small preview of our Furniture Nordic Set. Are you ready to furnish your dwelling with original Viking dΓ©cor?

      mob nord.jpg

      For all of you who can't wait to find out more about Alpha 2, here are some exclusive glimpses of it!
      Within the area of Hearthwood, in the darkness of the forest, there are strange natural creatures that roam with incessant slowness: the Treants and the Sproutlings! Don't make a mistake underestimating their appearance though!

      If you don't respect flora and fauna, you will be ensnared by their roots and surrounded in no time!

      treant_Sproutling.jpg

      Last but not least, we increased the Goblin Family introducing this bad guy: here it is, the Goblin Warchief!

      Be careful to dodge and parry his brutal mace and shield blows, or your head will become feed for birds!

      @Roccandil said in Min/Max'ing and crafting/fighting:

      • By attribute cap, I meant total (natural + talents + armor + consumable). I remember 25 being mentioned, but that wasn't in Alpha.

      Yeah, the attribute cap will be 25. There will be no other ways to have a higher value πŸ™‚

      • How many talent branches can you complete?

      Six branches, in each of these there are only two nodes that give you the attribute bonuses!

      @Jetah said in Min/Max'ing and crafting/fighting:

      Isn't the attribute increases a vertical system though?

      As I said, the only attribute increases come from talents, equip and consumable (the last two are rare to find). As you can understand the unbalance is minimal.
      Anyway, adopting a horizontal system doesn't mean that there won't be a little bit of progression, it's quite essential for a game!

    • RE: Min/Max'ing and crafting/fighting

      @Roccandil said in Min/Max'ing and crafting/fighting:

      Right now, these are my big min-max questions based on Alpha:

      • Will there be attribute caps? (25?)
      • If so, can I reliably expect to boost an attribute from 20 to the cap with gear? (in Alpha you could get 5+ INT from gear)
      • How do the permanent +2 attribute increases work from knowledge (can I get them for each attribute, or do I choose one attribute to boost, and that's it?)

      The practical consideration is that there are nice bonuses for getting an attribute to natural 20, so depending on the answers to the above questions, it may be worthwhile to not push any attribute past natural 20, in favor of getting multiple attributes to 20.

      Not every race work the same, for example, the humans during the character creation, have more available points, but they can't rise an attribute over 18. The other races have fewer points, but different caps and they always have an affinity for one attribute (meaning that the points for that attribute cost less - You can check this spotlight for a more precise explanation.).

      Apart from this, another way to increase your attributes is through talents. There are six branches of them, each of whom can give you a max of +2 bonus (You won't be able to have +2 in each of your attributes).

      Then there will also be the bonuses from equipment, but, they will be low and rare to obtain, the same for the ones from foods. The armors that you saw in Alpha were just for a testing purpose. So, don't take those as a benchmark. πŸ™‚

      @Farlander said in Effect from Taming on mainly PvP:

      Tamers are often OP in games and balancing them is very important especially with regards to pvp.

      When we talk about pets here is this also enveloping the ones you buy from the gold store? I was understanding that those were soft and cuddly and only were for cosmetics. Can they fight with you?

      The ones that you can find in the store are Companions, so only for cosmetics use.

      @Jetah said in Effect from Taming on mainly PvP:

      that sets the president that other activities will be simple and rely on one attribute. That doesn't seem like it'll be a great system. I'll point to Eve Online which uses a primary and secondary attribute. some skills are 75/25 while others are 50/50 while others are 90/10 depending. this means you can't get one attribute high to have better than average training time for certain groups of skills.

      We will take in consideration your suggestions, but have faith in the work of our team πŸ˜‰

      @deusex2 said in Effect from Taming on mainly PvP:

      Regarding monsters taming, in case of demons, can demon players tame demonic creatures, native to Tartaros? And if yes, can they be taken with demon-players into different worlds?

      Yes!

      Why is Charisma the main stat? Why are all mobs affected by it instead of other stats. Maybe some creatures only follow physically strong leaders! Maybe some only follow those with higher intelligence.

      Just for the game balance, a taming system too heavy and complex could upset other stats decisions πŸ™‚
