A stranger in a dark hood approaches you would you
If you have a gaming-ready PC, you can lend your graphical power to fighting the COVID-19 outbreak. That's not a thing I ever thought I'd write, but it turns out 2020 is occasionally weird in good ways too.
Nvidia is putting out a call to PC gamers everywhere to download the Folding@home application and start putting their spare clock cycles toward advancing humanity's scientific knowledge of coronavirus. The program links computers into an international network that uses distributed processing power to chew through massive computing tasks - something that gaming-grade GPUs are quite good at, as it turns out. You can still turn the application off and reclaim your GPU's full power for playing games whenever you want.

I hope to God They dont listen to these kind of plans.
Real life politics has no place in fantasy games.
The fractured world has it's own Lore, and its not part of the messed up world views of a small percentage.
Women and men and beasts Male and female are what exist in this world
For example Just because you sexually identify as a rock, does not mean that the fractured world need to change its lore to suit your political ideology

That's great and all but that's not really my issue. My issue is not "guess we don't get another stress test". It's "it really seems like they weren't even remotely ready to begin with" and got a bunch of sign ups under their belt that they can now use to gain investments or make claims with. Again, whether thats their intention or not I do not know for sure but this is how it seems to me.
They already have investors, and enough money to fund the game.
The test just failed , thats the point in tests, if all tests where 100% successful there would be no need for tests, the game is in alpha development atm, and this is the first ever time more then 30-40 people have been on the server at the same time.
they found a server killing bug, yeah its frustrating especially for them , I imagine they would have much rather it went smoothly .
but IMO this is the point of the test, and im glad its happening now and not during open beta stages
@RoyalX said in B2P vs F2P:
why do the dev took the b2p option and make the game low population when they can make the same amount of money or more by going f2p and make the game feel more alive ,i played the free alpha and i saw only 1 person all game ..
b2p is less likely to have bots, (because banned accounts have to be re-bought)
b2p is less likely 2 have toxic players, (because banned accounts have to be re-bought)
f2p needs to have a f2p cash shop meaning they will need way more cosmetics, and possibly even the dreaded p2w, to support the game
even f2p games tend to be b2p during development
I personally would rather have a low population of good honest players, then a huge population of self entitled f2players that want everything for free, and whine when someone who spending money and supporting the game is stronger then them.
f2p breeds toxicity and i personally hope DS can sustain a B2P model permanently
Id go for something from folklore According to the Japanese folklore, the Jorōgumo is a magic, 400 year old giant spider, that can change its appearance into that of a beautiful woman. She seduces young handsome men, wraps them up in her webs and eats them..
@PeachMcD Movies are a complete different medium for one, and your "facts" are all opinions.
Iv personally spent about £300 on fractured, and if the devs suddenly changed the feel of the game just to pander to 0.1% in some misguided attempt at making more money,
Then they will definitely lose me as a customer.
Not because I care if beastmen are called beastlings, but because I care that a tiny group of people can manipulate the game
I dont mind a new race suggestion that works with your world view and fits with the lore.
But changing the world just because you want it (and the devs actually listening)
Would make me lose faith in this company completely

@tulukaruk said in Is this game using these Unity Asset Store assets and why?:
The whole Unity is a ready "asset" In old days they would have to code everything from the ground. No point in reinventing the wheel.
No, Unity is a game engine. Writing your own renderer alone takes a lot of time and it won't look as pretty as an industry-standard engine, so it makes sense to use one. On the other hand, when it comes to assets (the ones that will be in the release), you want a homogenous graphics style, which is kind of hard to achieve by gluing together cheap assets from unity store.
They are making there own monsters and spells, apart from the UI , and some animal mobs such as rabbits and deer (hardly need a unique rabbit).
The UI could always be updated later if its necessary (take black desert for example)
I Personally think the ui looks fine atm and looks like it fits fractured
@Jetah said in MMORPG with MOBA movement is an issue?:
i'd believe there are more gamers younger than 50 than over 50. now the over 50 should have more money to spend.
you can try to convince them that wasd is the way to go, i've even posted that link or similar but they refuse. they want click to move. that's their stance, just like isometric view is.
Hes not asking for wasd, he is asking for toggle auto run toggle auto attack for less clicking to help with repetitive strain, carpal tunnel etc.
You seem completely distracted from the guys point.
Try reading peoples posts carefully @Jetah instead of just trying to argue
There is no reason why devs cant add toggle clicks it could just be a little tick box in the options.
@Jetah getting mad at people for using the forum for what its ment for is pretty weird, it's not like the first page is full of is this game like albion posts.
Makes us look unwelcoming, complaining at a guy when hes just asking a question, hes not trying to be controversial, and hes not being rude. I dont see a problem with OP personally
The dev forums is back to being inactive, has the lone mod that was trying gone now too?
The developers forum has finally been posted in again, fingers crossed this is a sign of things to come im so relieved dynamic is turning over a new leaf.
Another 20 days has gone, in the developers forum with no replying, its really crazy you still advertise this as part of the 300euro eternal package, @Prometheus please sort this out
@spoletta maybe you can convince @Prometheus to give you access to dev info so the original pleges can be honored (developer access is also still being sold on the website) so any new backers sre really going to be disappointed if they purchase the most expensive package, just to get one of the perks they and we paid for to be something thats getting ignored
@spoletta are you able to get the developers forums active again the devs posting sneak peaks and bits of preview info like they used to please?
are the developer forums going to get used again - be nice if we got some changes/response around here
@grofire on top of them reselling waterd down kickstarter permanent VIP for cheaper, to try and make extra money, when it was supposed to be limited time offer/deal, if i would have known they would resell it i would have waited, and likely never backed.
And you cant just abandon stuff and let it quietly fade in to the night, you need communication, talking to the backers that paid for this service.
If it was failed and discontinued why is the forum section still up and useable?
It's not because the devs consider it a unwanted backer perk,
they dont even care enough to finsh it off and give us an official statment or any acknowledgement.
All it It shows is that devs do not care about its original backers.
There is no way to frame it nicely, its making the fractured team look bad.
They use to care enough to post, now they dont
@GamerSeuss Aug 21, 2021, 1:26 PM was the last time a mod posted, that same thread has been posted in this year saying they have been waiting for 5 months for a reply, spector messaged @Prometheus multiple times about the thread to get an answer to no avail.
He gave up the person who made the thread is still waiting and posting as are many others, spector dosent reply anymore and neither do any of the developers, probably ... people are still trying and are using the backers forums, the devs just dont care.
@GamerSeuss you would be right, if players were not still using it, they are, people have been posting in it for over a year with no response of the 70ish threads about 8 have been made by devs, most at the start of kickstarter, people have been posting asking questions using it and waiting on replies.
So you can blame them now for dropping it.
Although i doubt you will
