    • Fractured Content Pills - Week 22, 2019

      Howdy people!

Today we are going to start with some behind the scenes!

An expedition of the Dynamight Studios team gathered in Bologna two weeks ago to attend one of the most important Game Dev conventions in Italy: Svilupparty. Unveiling the Fractured world to developers and fans was a thrilling experience, and we valued each comment and reaction of everyone who tried the game or just passed by to take a glimpse of our universe; all the compliments and good feedback we received really made us proud of how things are turning out for Fractured!

And here for you, the brave companions, united during that memorable event!

      60611204_2221730767905203_6539392186981548032_n.jpg

Let’s jump back to how the Fractured world is evolving, specifically to some news about crafting. New equipment is coming to protect your guts during your travels around Myr!
During A1-T1 many heroes among the community noticed that the creation of armor was limited to fur and hide. Starting with the next test, you’ll have the chance to build and use a tanning tub to turn raw animal hides into pieces of leather!

      wooden tub.jpg

The tanning tub is also the first station featuring non-instantaneous crafting: the hides have to rest for several hours in it before the process is completed!

But there is more, in A1-T2 you will also have the possibility to show all of your artisan skills using a brand-new robust workbench; with it, you will craft items, weapons, and marvelous armors!

      insta workbench single.jpg

Are you still hungry for pills? Here’s a sneak peek at one of the armors that you will able to craft: the skilled hands of our master dev leatherworkers have finely sewed this suit for you!

      These are the 3D models!

      Leather.jpg

And here it is how it will dress your future hero!

      Hello Everyone Folks!

I’m Znirf (it’s pronounced ZedNirf), and I’m the new Community Manager of Fractured MMO. In short, I will manage all the social and communication content about the game.

Something about myself: I’m 26, I’ve just got a master in Digital Marketing, I had a previous job experience in Rotterdam where I managed the advertising and communication part for a mobile video game company. In my free time, I like playing games such as Lol or Magic Arena or having a good beer with friends in the Genoan alleys!

I’m so excited about this project and for the forthcoming release of the Alpha version. I can’t wait to discover with all of you the new features that will be implemented in the game and to become your ferryman for all of the news about Fractured!

Ah, just letting you know, tomorrow already I'm going to drop an important announcement!

      Hello guys,
the Pills are back! After a long and scorching summer, the team has returned to the office, eager to show you all that's cooking at Dynamight's!
Before that, however, let's go back and talk about Gamescom! Yeah, this august Dynamight Studios succeeded in reaching and conquering the mythical videogames peak of Cologne! Our booth in the business area was a success; we had the opportunity to speak with you and meet new important publishers. By the way, there could be some big news coming up in the future, fingers crossed for us!

In the picture below, Jacopo, Andrea and Michele with Kralith! What a nice surprise meeting you!

      Gamescom.jpg

Another important thing that happened the last month is the total overhaul of the store! We added new Founder packs, pet companions and more, and we will update it with new items in the future!

This is a small preview of our Furniture Nordic Set. Are you ready to furnish your dwelling with original Viking décor?

      mob nord.jpg

For all of you who can't wait to find out more about Alpha 2, here are some exclusive glimpses of it!
Within the area of Hearthwood, in the darkness of the forest, there are strange natural creatures that roam with incessant slowness: the Treants and the Sproutlings! Don't make a mistake underestimating their appearance though!

If you don't respect flora and fauna, you will be ensnared by their roots and surrounded in no time!

      treant_Sproutling.jpg

Last but not least, we increased the Goblin Family introducing this bad guy: here it is, the Goblin Warchief!

Be careful to dodge and parry his brutal mace and shield blows, or your head will become feed for birds!

Hello everyone! Welcome to another appointment with the Pills!

Right now our special envoys Jacopo and Andrea are showing Fractured’s last updates at the Codemotion IT conference in Milan.

Showcasing Fractured at the Codemotion… only the most observant may note a clue on the screen!

      Girl-Codemotion.jpg

Are you curious too to hear what’s going on here at Dynamight Studios?

We had some delays due to the porting to the new version of SpatialOS and Unity, but our brave team has not been hampered! Want some proof? Then keep reading!

Do you remember those days where you had to gather each single stone block or wood log one by one to build your house? From Alpha 2 it will be just a bad memory because the cart that many of you requested finally became reality!

The carriage now will be a breeze!

      insta handcart medium.jpg

If you remember, in the last pills we introduced some green nasty guys from the Goblin Hills. We added another one of them, more fearful and powerful, the Fire Shaman! While the other little goblin will assault you wielding swords, axes, spears and hammers, these crazy pyromaniacs will throw flame bombs at you from the side-lines and obstruct your passage with scorching totems!

Only your cunning will keep you alive from this hellfire…

      shaman3.PNG

      …or maybe also something magical!

You heard right! Do you want a suggestion to pass the “Fire Shaman’s test”? I suggest you try a

and let me know. This runic magic will shield you from poison and flames during your skirmishes!

And now, some special effects that will make your Fractured adventures even more mystical and special!

We wanted something that could give a creepier touch to the Deadwoods. We thought spiders, undeads, ruins and webs weren’t enough, so we decided to add some fog too!

Will you still have the nerve to step in these dark lands now?

Last but not least, here are some new glowing friends that will wander around in Heartwood. Will

, protectors of the forest and nature, help you find the way home or will they make you lose your bearings?

With this dilemma I greet you, my friends!

      See you next time!

    • Fractured Content Pills - Week 18, 2019

      Hello everyone!

Here we are again with some brand new content pills! After the success of Alpha 1 – Test 1, our team has kept working harder and harder to develop new features to enrich your future adventures in Fractured!

Let’s introduce two new areas that you’ll be looking forward to exploring:

      The Garden of Nelena

      Dancing Meadows.jpg

South of Myr, in the region of Dancing Meadows, there stands an ancient and magnificently bloomy sanctuary. The garden of Nelena welcomes its acolytes since ages, guarded by the statue of the Goddess of the Wild and Mother of all Beastmen. This will be the first temple implemented into Fractured: through the altar you will be able to question the deity in order to start quests or receive a temporary blessing. Surrounded by a biome of life and nature, you won’t ever be safe during your prayers: Earth Golems, other gigantic animals and the eldest Ents protect their refuge, fearless and unstoppable.

Now, a glimpse both at the past…and the future

      NelenaMarketing4.jpg

      The Goblin Hills

      Goblin Hills.jpg

Many travellers departed towards the north-eastern coast of the continent, only a few (sometimes, a few pieces…) of them managed to come back from the Goblin Hills.
True to its name, if you’ll dare to climb any of the peaks of this bare region, hordes of Goblins and Ogres will try to rip you apart; at first sight, you won’t notice the groups of Shamans hovering and enchanting their staffs to summon powerful Totems, protected by magical Wolves while casting devastating AoE spells.

      Goblin1.jpg

      Goblin2.jpg

Definitely not too friendly, these guys! Look at that skull…Hey! Did you hear that sound? It’s better to run and get back home!

      Hello guys!

Here we are together again by popular demand with the Fractured Pills!
After the end of A1T2, our team is pumped as never before for the release of the new features that will enrich your Fractured travels! For today the plate is full: the monsters’ roster will be enriched with new creatures that will severely put you to a hard test!
      Let the parade begin!
We already spoke about the new Goblin Hills in our first appointment, do you remember that? The landscape was already threatening back then, but a little bit desert; so, let’s start to populate it with these sneering and jeering goblins! Some chaotic and boorish yells are coming!

Those war paints aren't enough to intimidate you?

      Goblin war paints.jpg

Easy guys! They won’t be naked and defenseless like in the photo: here it is, their fearsome elite force, the Goblin Enforcer! These brave little warriors will fight to the death just to have a bite of your fresh meat!

      goblin1 enforcer.png

Now, let's start looking down south. You are wandering through the pristine forest of Hearthwood, now let me show the way to the mystical temple of Tyros… there, plant creatures and wisps protect the sacredness of the place. Wait, what is that? Oh, that is a majestic elemental, generated by the primal force of the Elysium, guardian of nature and the stones!

You’ll have to be swift to evade their powerful smashes!

      Ele1.jpg

Finally, I'd like to leave you with a brand-new armor suit! Here it is, in all its stylishness, the mage armor! Are you ready to cast the most destructive fireballs of your life?

      The female version…

      Mage_female.jpg

      And the male one!

Welcome to a new appointment with the Fractured Pills! What’s brewing at Dynamight on the verge of the so long-awaited Alpha 2? I can anticipate that this will be a truly magical pill – literally!

All right. Let's get this show on the road!

Oh, wait a minute. Before that, we thought we should ingratiate the benevolence of the mighty Lord of Light and Justice Tyros: we finally completed his majestic Temple in the middle of the Heartwood forest!

What do you think about it? Will it bring some brightness to these rainy and cloudy autumn days?

      screen 01.jpg

      Too much brightness!

      screen 02b.jpg

..and here are further details of the temple.

      screen 04.jpg

      screen 03.jpg

Now that we got the divine blessing, we can start talking about arcane spells. Do you remember the Goblin Fire Shaman of the last pill? If you’ll be able to defeat him and wise enough to learn his strengths, you’ll be able to embrace the power of fire as well. This

is a small but effective demonstration!

      Fire Totem.jpg

Wait, there is more! Imagine yourself inside a fray, fighting shoulder to shoulder with other brave warriors. What about a prayer to enhance their willpower or intimidate your foes? In this case, the Words of Power are the spells for you. Do you need to boost an ally’s healing, stun one of your enemies or even silence him? Try

and your wish will be granted!

What if you are alone against an entire army of goblins? Well, we got a remedy for this situation too. Stomp your feet on the ground and entrust yourself to the Invocation School of Magic. The earth beneath your feet will collapse and the terrible wrath of the

will impale all of your opponents. Run for your lives as long as you can!

Now it’s time to disappear with the same magic with which I greeted you before!

    • Fractured Content Pills - Week 52, 2019

People, make room, the last Fractured Pills of 2019 are on their way! Even if showcasing work that’s in very early stages of development, we decided to release them anyway as a little present to you all. 😉

      So, without delay, let’s start!

We noticed you had a really hard time challenging Goblins during Alpha 2.1, so we decided to add a new Goblin camp in the Shadow Vale. This one will present an additional challenge, however: it will be fortified with thick wooden palisades. Will you be fast enough to avoid hundreds of Goblin arrows and burn their camp to the ground?

So, what strategy will you figure out to overcome these deadly walls?

      goblin palisades.jpg

Wait! Do you hear this frightening shrill too? Raise your eyes! Here it is, in all its viciousness brutality, the Bone Dragon of the Shadow Vale! Stories narrate that its magical blue fire breath is made of the souls of the thousands brave knights who tried to kill it in the last ages. Do you want to give it a try too? At your own risk!

You need to be careful or it will pulverize you with its lethal breath!

      Bone_dragon_1.jpg

Don’t be too scared, it’s not over! In the misty Shadow Vale there is another new dark guardian that will hinder your way, trying to allure you with its litanies of grief. You better gather a good fellowship to face this brutal enemy or your soul could be stolen eternally!

Even if it’s still incomplete, you can already sense the deadly dark force of this Demon Spirit!

      Shadowvale Demon.jpg

There is still space for some magical stuff honorable warriors! And since it's Christmas time, what better occasion to spread

from our hands. In this case, however, there will be no presents under the tree. If some of your opponents will try to get close to you, they will get stuck in the most impetuous storm that you have ever seen!

      Hello everybody,

Today our appointment with the Fractured Pills will definitely make you sweat! Our devs implemented two other working stations after the ones revealed in the previous episodes.

You’ll never be idle in the Fractured Lands nor your days will be dull!

      Content Pills 4.jpg

Here it is in all its craftsmanship, the Weaving Station!

      weaving INSTA.jpg

This may seem a simple machine to most, but you will be able to create the best cloth from wools and silks to customize your outfit and your house. Beautiful tapestries, banners, coaches and beds, and of course, magical tunics and garments…ok, no more spoilers.

Ehm, just for a while… as anticipated, I’m going to parade another basic instrument, vital for every hero throughout Myr: The Milling Stone!

      stonemill insta.jpg

You will need strong arms to spin those big stones, but don't give up grinding the grains abundantly harvested in the meadows and fields of Myr. The Milling Stone will allow you to obtain white flour to produce the bread that will feed you during heroic journeys through new lands or sitting on the sofa after sunset.

Ok, now I should warn you:

      Light SPOILER.

Do you have access to Alpha1-Test2 and you don’t want to know anything more?

      CLOSE THIS PAGE!

For you, brave-hearted and thirsty of knowledge, here’s the sneak peek.

Combat won’t be the same thanks to a set of new spells: fireballs, magic missiles, paralyzing touches and many more will help you to challenge the new and old foes of Fractured!

      See you guys!

    • Fractured Content Pills - Week 20, 2019

      Hello everyone!

      Here come other Fractured pills!

We reiterated so much the importance of the housing system. In Alpha 1 – test 1, you had limited room to personalize your house. In the future, after you found your favourite spot (may it be the shore of a river, an idyllic isolated valley, or a town) you will be able to choose the design of your ideal house. Which materials are you going to use: wooden logs, bricks or stone blocks? Everything will have an impact on the decaying of your building, so be careful!

      Here are some possibilities

      Towns.jpg

From the sketches to the final work!

      house 01.jpg

      house 02.jpg

      house 03.jpg

And if this doesn't sound deep enough, in the future (unfortunately not in Alpha 1 – Test 2) you will also have the possibility to make a field and dig up furrows for your personal vegetable garden. You will cultivate what's necessary for a long journey or to train your alchemic abilities!

      So, let's get farming!

      farm close range.jpg

      farm top.jpg

Last but not least, our Devs are working on the new creepy spiders that will populate the zones of the Deadwood biome. While you roam through the marshes of the Whispering Woods or the Creeping Woods, pay attention to the crowding, tickling and striding sounds coming from the rocks of the ancient ruins! These horrors like to use poisonous spells that will slowly make you lose consciousness, leaving you paralyzed to turn you into a tasty meal for their spiderlings!

And now, in all its darkness and putrefaction, here is one of the Crawling Horrors!

      Spider Lich base04.jpg

This kind of spider is quite resilient; they will deal a massive amount of damage through their toxic bites. Ah, one last thing: when they die, they will explode dealing toxic AoE damage.
It’s better for you to run away as fast as possible!

      See you next time, warriors!

@Znirf Thanks for reply. It does make sense, it´s just sad that primitive weapons will be useles after few days, no matter 🙂 Casters won´t need them anyway (stats on weapons will not affect casting in any way, right? Hope so ... for unarmed casters).

It's still too early to talk about these kinds of things. 🙂 Anyway, there will be weapon enchantments with crit and spell damage bonuses. It's also possible that we will create something more specific for arcane spells (staff or rods that give enhancements only for spells from a specific School of Magic).

It has been stated, that Primitive weapons will have damage about 20% lower than metal ones. But as game is supposed to have horizontal progress, is there anything to compensate this ?
Will primitive weapons be, for example, better for enchant (stronger enchant bonuses) or will they be more customizable ? Or will we never ever see any flint dagger two days after game release when everyone will have metal weapons? Would be sad, as "primal feeling" of primitive weapons and clothing - heads of monsters as helmets - is nice. Let´s hope we can at least use them as skin.

Hi @asspirin! Since primitive weapons are easier to craft and to obtain they will be just weaker than the metal ones. 🙂

@Znirf Anyway, will there be warehouses in towns? Does anything happen to them after a siege? If not, and we can only store materials in chests from our houses, are these house plots safe spaces? (on demon planet I mean). I read that people can walk on your plot, but nothing about PVP/PK rules (demon planet again) and frankly it would be quite frustrating to get killed on your plot while crafting.

Yes, certainly there will be banks and warehouses for storing resources but we still don't have a detailed design for this kind of mechanics since it's something that we will implement later. If you want to take a look, here we already discussed about sieges and city attacks. 🙂

After reading a bit about housing and towns I came to the conclusion I'd rather be a hermit with a house close to some town because this way I can't lose my plot. Open world house plots are fixed.

That choice depends on you, remember that in the beginning there will be only some main towns, others will be user-generated over time. So, choosing to locate your dwelling far from a city center could give you the chance to became the governor of a future town. 😉

To my understanding this is also the case with town locations. Do we have a map with possible town locations yet? If no, are we going to have one prior to release?

As soon as we will implement cities in the game we will also release an updated map.

@Razvan said in Knowledge System Account Wide:

I read what the devs have to say about this and it just looks like a marketing scheme because a new character is obviously not as powerful as a seasoned one (even leaving the gear aside) since they don't have abilities and talents. Knowledge is basically XP used to unlock the said talents & abilities (which are discovered in an interesting way and can be leveled). Having knowledge gain bonus as a premium account feature tells me that (like any other mmorpg), the game will be a bit grindy.

The Knowledge system will prevent "hierarchic" boundaries. Of course the seasoned characters, with more in-game understandings, experiences and discoveries, will have advantages (I think that it's a core part of the knowledge, also in real life 🙂 ) but there won't be great disparities between new and older players, giving a usefulness to all of the mobs, places, and abilities.
