Disapointed news but in other hand understandable, it is not reasonabale to release unfinished product. However, a year delay tells how much there is still to be done, balance and fix.

BOOM!
"As a result, we will be changing our launch date - and correspondingly, our final beta test - to spring 2021."

RE: Is there planned any "CD reduction" in case of spell saved?
Offensive abilities could be distributed to different categories. Some abilities could be used by any melee, some are shared by different weapons, e.g. by same damage type (blunt, pierce, cut), and some abilities are only for a specific weapon family. That way a different offensive themes can be created around different categories. I guess this is kind of what devs have already doing and what you guys have suggested, but I think the system needs to be more organized and polished in general.

RE: Is there planned any "CD reduction" in case of spell saved?
Everything can be OP if wanted but balancing is the hard part, especially when taking consider different kind of combat situations. If you make melee more tanky so they will be viable in ZvZ fights that makes them OP in smaller scale fights and especially in 1v1 situations. That is the challenge what FF and player collision will create, it effects more on melee than ranged.

I am actually more concerned about melee damage dealers and how they will perform in ZvZ fights. There are few things which might cause some serious balance issues between melee and ranged, friendly fire and player collision.
That's actually a very good point I haven't thought about. This is more interesting when you weight in that evil characters have FF on, while neutral+ characters don't. I hope they rethink this.
I think that is anyway something which cannot be decided and carved in the stone before wider testing. I guess having FF with evil characters is meant to make neutral and especially good players life easier in the open world, but I am not sure if that is the best way to do this. Actually SBI wanted to implement FF for Albion, but they needed to drop that because they did not manage to balance that system between melee and ranged. I am not saying that FF cannot be done, but it can easily cause serious balance issues, especially when there is player collision involved as well. On paper it sounds like ranged life is much more easier and safe when you do not need to worry about AoEs from allies.

RE: Is there planned any "CD reduction" in case of spell saved?
@Razvan True. In addition, I presume melee fighters will have AoE ability options as well and perhaps the dagger users can have something, like fan of knives in WoW (throwing knives all around the user), even their main thing would be in single target combat.
I would not be personally worried about ranged damage dealers, I am actually more concerned about melee damage dealers and how they will perform in ZvZ fights. There are few things which might cause some serious balance issues between melee and ranged, friendly fire and player collision. Ranged damage dealers needs to worry about these factors much less than melee, and therefore, I am really keen to know how the developers will handle this matter.

I would suggest that staffs could work same way as bows. Perhaps you need to craft or buy 'charges' to your staff (like runes in RuneScape) which basically works like arrows. Staffs could make less damage, but still offering mages something to do while downtime or when oomed.

RE: Life Skills?
I think that farming and leatherworking are confirmed as well. In addition, someone needs to craft bows, arrow, staffs, glass and perhaps jewelry.

I would understand beer, but coffee and tea.. c'mon. I'll put the cattle on.

RE: NPC organizations
There should be NPC factions related to the lore and to offer interesting and meaningful PvE content. Goblins are a good example of PvE faction what we have currently, but I am not sure what is their background story or are they just random mobs.

@Tuoni Also not everygame is for everyone. That's why everyone should - if possible - make their own picture of how the game works and plays before falling for these "influencers" that all they usually have to say is either non-constructive critique or critique that is mostly tied to them personally not liking it not really for something not working properly or overhyping it.
This is true. If someone is disapointed on one part of the game, this easily reflects to other parts as well. Meaning that also the good parts are examined from negative point of view because of the frustration in general. This happened for example with New World when devs decided to change the PvP system. One feature was changed and next the whole game was totally crab.
@Ostaff said in New World by Amazon - Anyone interested?:
@Meiki Aye. I agree. That's also one reason I never listen to rants or praise only videos. I only watch the folk that actually tell me how the game actually plays from a neutral stand point and let me decide if I actually like what's presented or not.
This is a really good point. Too much rant and I will personally pass, however, this is also the case with over hyping white knights who protect the product regardless how severe are the issues. I also like positive presentations which are objective, at least somewhat.
I have watched New World related stuff from several content creators and in my opinion e.g. Ser Medieval, Kali Gold and Force gaming are quite good of sharing ingame information.

RE: New World by Amazon - Anyone interested?
@Buckykat Okay, if you are a tester that is ofc a different thing, but most people are not. Opinions of NW seams to be really mixed in general, why it is a good thing to wait more information, especially those who have not tested the game themself.
I do not personally care of the community drama or the PvP rule changes, but I am more concerned how finished the game will actually be at the time of launch. No game is perfect nowadays when they release but hopefully NW will not have fundamental game breaking issues. Some testers are still very hyped and interested of the game, however, some of them have been worried about the development schedule though and that the release date will come too soon.

RE: New World by Amazon - Anyone interested?
@lyburnum @Buckykat If you want to base your opinion on rant and community drama then be my guest. If you think of that post in that video. It is not constructive critisism, it is a rant. If you name your feedback's topic "Lol New World is a Fucking Joke" you have already lost your chances to be believable and make the developers listen to you. That feedback could be great without all that aggression and negativity.
I suggest all those who are interested of New World to wait more information what we start to get after a month, when the beta test phase starts and NDA lifted.

RE: New World by Amazon - Anyone interested?
@Ostaff You can play with other people without a group as well. Housing, crafting, gathering, farming, trading are mainly solo activities. When I buy resources from a gatherer and craft some weapons for sale, I am already interacting with other players even I do everything solo. Perhaps I get ganked when transporting items from city to another and even then I am interacting with other players. On top of that even the most group oriented players wants to do solo content now and then. In addition, people do not have everytime enough time to start a group or perhaps there is no guildies/friends online at that moment (or not enough) so you cannot perform a group. Perhaps you are after certain skills from specific monsters and others are not interested.. MMORPGs are not just about grouping with others, those are most importantly interacting with other players regardless how that happens. In sandbox games this kind of freedom to play how ever you want to highlights even more.

I just recently got my invitation and so far am having a blast. It's fun. There might be some things missing or being unpolished, but so far I haven't seen anything that would make me change my opinion for the worse.
Glad to hear. Still waiting my invitation...

n MMO, in the idea of needing to have a group to do things. not having a group meant you were unable to get to high tier or kill hard mobs.
Just as it should be! MMOs should NOT BE SOLO GAMES! totally agree. here here!
Highly disagreed. Many players plays MMOs at least partly as a solo and some of the players most of the time. A lot of activities are solo oriented anyway, especially professions and lifeskills. People are still interacting with other players even they would not constantly group up. Therefore, MMO games should offer a good amount of solo content as well, even the hardest content needs group effort ofc.
