RE: Can we have other means of information beside Twitch Q&A sessions?
@GamerSeuss But we are not getting updates in written format which is the concern of this thread at first place. Or perhaps you can point from where we can read about the content of recent Q&As.
Perhaps at start there was a good amount of written information available, nowadays there is hardly any, and e.g. the latest Feature Spotlight article is over 2 years old already which is kind of long time ago.
I have personally very different experiences from gaming development and unfortunatelly Fractured is not even close how much information other gaming studios provides updates to the community. EverQuest and DaggerFall are kind of bad examples, because those games presents totally different times. Today transparency is the thing, especially with games which have been funded by the players, therefore, people are more interested of the development and the progression in general, and because of that people will be also more demanding.
Videos as the only place to gather information is really bad because the information will also drown there. Most of the people will not found those ever and it is multiple times easier to refer written information rather than videos.

RE: NO EU server? no thanks!
@GamerSeuss I am not sure about that stable part, at least from my experience (as an EU player) I have faced mainly problems. However, I guess it works better localy.

RE: Can we have other means of information beside Twitch Q&A sessions?
@GamerSeuss Actually written updates of the progression is quite standard procedure in game development in general. Therefore, it is nothing too special to ask here as well.

RE: Can we have other means of information beside Twitch Q&A sessions?
@Razvan Upcoming plans for the game should definitely be in written format, at least as like a summary, however, imo videos should be the secondary communication channel. Videos are of course nice, but trying to find information from those feels really bad and the information will just drown there.

RE: NO EU server? no thanks!
I was wondering, why EU companies goes for NA servers anyway? Because of the markets or cheaper server providers?
I like the idea of having a one big server so we all can play in the same world, however, if that means crabby performance in general (like in Albion), then I would prefer have separated server options for different locations to guarantee better gaming experience for the whole player base.

RE: NO EU server? no thanks!
I play at the moment Albion Online which moved the server to U.S.A. at some point. I play from EU and the high pings and constant lag spikes are a huge issue, not just for me, but for many other players as well. The game lags especially in situations when you engage to the fight, in both PvE and PvP. These issues leads sometimes to unnecessary deaths which is very annoying. I cannot even dream to do any larger scale PvP because that content is simply unplayable, small scale is hard enough already. Today I tried to gank a juicy ox, but my skill shots landed about 15m short because ping and lag... I am almost ready to give up, but I will check if the upcoming patch and corrupted dungeons (1v1 - PvP) are actually playable and enjoyable content. Therefore, if there will be only NA servers at launch in Fractured, it can lead for unfair situations especially in PvP fights. Of course the general server performance has some impact to the general feel, will see.

RE: Need me some Bardness
@Oxfurd Well we know this much:
MUSICIANSHIP
The school of Musicianship encompasses several abilities that can infuse a hint of magic into songs and plays to dramatically increase the impact music has on the souls of the listeners.
Bards and minstrels using Musicianship can manipulate the emotions of other people triggering their most basic, animal feelings. Their music can influence any living creature able to hear the performance, but the effect usually doesnβt last for long β when the music stops, any affected being soon snaps out of the enchantment. Some Musicianship techniques even allow for the compression of mana into sound waves able to damage the creatures they collide with β a far less pleasant kind of tune. The power of most abilities belonging to this school depends on the Charisma of the bard.I like the approach that Bard can be used offensive and as an debuffer as well. I presume that on top of that Bard can be used traditionally to support/buff allies.

RE: No bindings or key layout
I am personally keeping main abilities in QWERTDFG keys, perhaps binding some of them to the mouse though. Albion has very similar key bindings so I am used to go with those.

RE: Is Alt-Spamming even a bad thing?
@MaxFlex I agree that in Albion scouts are a problem in every way.
@MaxFlex said in Is Alt-Spamming even a bad thing?:
But in this game, making many characters or accounts is GOING to be pretty pointless because of how the game is planned. You should be able to have 1 character and be able to respec it however you want. Plus there should be enough Knowledge Points to spend on everything and still have some left over.
Actually you cannot respec however you want because e.g. attributes cannot be changed from the fly like gear or abilities. Therefore, you are kind of locked to play a certain playstyle. On top of that there is three main races and all their sub-race options, therefore, I would say it is not pointless to create several characters.

RE: How to implement fast travelling?
I do not mind if there will be a little bit fast travel options because that helps people to group up and this also encourages to explore a larger portion of the world. Playing just locally will bore people faster for sure. However, I would prefer naked traveling so items and resources cannot been transported. I can personally play without fast travel that is not a problem but I know a good amount of people wants to spend their play time doing something actually meaningful rather than running around hours to get where they want to.

RE: PvP Flagging Requirement
Nah, it is already beaten to death. There will be more focus on PvP in future, therefore, you will eventually get what you want. Not sure what is planned next though but perhaps some deeper city management and crafting could be coming, and perhaps city sieges (just speculating).

RE: Is Alt-Spamming even a bad thing?
@Farlander I do not think that people will get banned because they play from the same location. It is quite common that friends and family plays together. I bet that honest people just plays regardless of shared IP and those who runs several accounts at the same time uses VPN.

There is a difference between having multiple characters and having multiple clients running. I have no problem with people having alts (multiple characters run one at a time) as apposed to multiboxing (running multiple clients at the same time). True there are some time based situations where alts can give a big advantage, like garrisons in World of Warcraft. There are other situations where they do not, Like gardening in Black Desert where crops only grow while you are online and the contribution points to rent farm plots are shared across the account.
In themepark games like WoW (retail) I do not mind much of the benefits from alts because the impact is typically quite small. However, garrison is a good example where alts can matter a lot. That BDO systems sounds somewhat interesting, however, in other hand it benefits those who can play 24/7.
In sandbox games with player driven economy and open world PvP the situation is totally different. There alts can give economical advantage over other players and alt scouts are used for spying ganking opportunities. These two factors what alts can bring to the table are something I personally see as the main downsides of them.

RE: π‘ Suggestion | In game | Repair system/mechanincs
If I remember right, the last knowledge is that there will not be repairing system at all and everything will just decay and eventually broke for good. However, if repairing is needed, then repairing with ingame currency would be easiest solution which offers very effective gold sink at the same time.

RE: Is Alt-Spamming even a bad thing?
Alts will have a huge impact for economy in Fractured. Why travel to another planets gathering resources under heavy debuffs when you can do that with alt who already live on that planet? This will also lead that guilds will have sub-guilds on another planets making the access to all resources as easy as possible.
In Albion alt scouts are a real pain in the ass and developers there wants to limit that kind of behavior. People are scouting all kind of content especially gates, hotspots, dungeons and such. When people arrives, a little bit later they will be ganked.
If all this is possible in Fractured, of course I am going to benefit the loop holes as much as possible, however, I would rather like to live without this kind of alt behaviors.

RE: Is Alt-Spamming even a bad thing?
@Razvan @Logain I guess people can benefit from alts used for crafting and farming. More characters means access for more timed plots like farming and processed resources (e.g. tanning tubes). In addition, we have so little information of crafting in general so it is hard to say what kind of mechanics there will eventually be implemented. I personally hope that we will not benefit from alts or at least that the benefits will be relatively small.

@Razvan said in Is Alt-Spamming even a bad thing?:
Alts can be a bad thing, but I don't think anything can be done about them.
Examples in which alts offer advantages: if the game has a crafting focus system, having more alts = more money. Scouting ahead with a cheaply geared alt to protect your main from gankers / camping an alt outside a dungeon so you can see who comes in. If the game has travel limitations for zergs, these can be bypassed by having multiple zvz-ready alts located at key areas.True. Alts can and will be used wrong for sure, and that is the main reason why I do not personally like much of alts. I understand alts so people can play different races and classes, but the positive things will stop there.
