Hi everyone!
Alpha 2 - Test 2 is ending on Sunday, April 26 (yes, that’s official now!), and we are already looking forward to the next testing phase...
...which is coming in June already!
Note: planning your city? Looking for a city to live in? Head to the dedicated forum section! There's a map of upcoming cities on Myr, too!
Enjoy and stay tuned, because there’s a handful of other exciting news coming in the next few weeks!
Hi everyone!
The first video update for the Fall Alpha is out – and so is the new Fractured Steam store page!
See you next week for the second video development update!
Enjoy Fractured!
Hi everyone,
a few days ago, we had to deliver a permanent ban to multiple accounts, all belonging to the same guild, who were using a hack to bypass memory limits (for spell presets) and talent point limits (for talent presets). The hack allowed these players to memorize more spells than due and, way worse, to completely fill their talent trees (having 200+ talents instead of 60). They then used this to gain an unfair advantage, particularly in PvP.
The hack was possible due to a bad oversight on our part - a lack of server validation for those functionalities. A fix for the issue, together with many other bug fixes, is coming in a big patch next week.
I'm telling this story because I want to communicate an important message. This is a beta. Part of its purpose is to receive your feedback and develop the game together. Another is to find bugs and vulnerabilities and have them fixed before release.
Everyone in the community is therefore encouraged to find bugs, exploits and even hacks, but these are all to be reported immediately and in no way exploited. Failure to do so will lead to a ban that could range from days to permanent, according to the seriousness of the exploit. Like all MMOs, we have player action logging systems. Abuse of an exploit will always get caught eventually.
On the matter of bug reporting, rest assured we monitor the forums, discord and other systems daily. The fact fixes aren't coming the day after a bug is posted doesn't mean we haven't added it to our backlog. We can't make a patch every day, and we have new content to develop together with bugs to fix.
Thank you for your understanding, and enjoy Fractured Online!
Best,
Jacopo
Dear Fractured followers,
we are glad to announce that the bug that forced us to postpone the launch of Alpha 2 - Test 3 has been resolved yesterday afternoon.
We've spent yesterday evening and the whole day today playtesting in depth to make sure no unlikely occurrence of the issue could still be around. Well, it seems it no longer is, which means the official new launch date is:
Wednesday, July 22, at 4pm CEST (10am EDT)!
I know some of you will be asking "why not starting sooner?". The reason is simple - having a launch on a weekend is really a terrible idea, since most of the team is not around to provide support in case something bad happens! Moreover, we wanted to give you some time to prepare for the new launch
When announcing the delay, we mentioned a compensation for your disappointment. That's already been delivered - 1,000 Dynamight Tokens have been added to the all the accounts with access to Alpha 2 - Test 3.
Oh, one last thing. Don't forget that client download and character creation are already available! City joining and claiming is also open, and will be closed again on Tuesday afternoon.
See you soon in game!

Hi all!
The Fall Alpha has launched, and with it comes the last video update – featuring City Maintenance, Trading Posts, Exploration & Legends!
Also, we'd like to extend an apology for what happened last night...
Are you excited for the coming of the Legends? 'cause we are!
See you all in game!
@Crache @Emmajane91 @Comferage @Jahlon @dj35 @Dinok @Mazikar as I've mentioned here, we want to launch the store together with some content updates It's coming soon tho!

And wishing for Paypal support, for us, noobs without credit cards.
Our store supports literally hundreds of payment methods - PayPal is obviously one of the top ones

They haven't really gotten over the vacation lull, it seems. Oh well, we will see something more here soon, I am sure!
We have, we have! Just got too personally "distracted" by development But I'm back keeping you all up to date now!
@rofus said in Can’t wait for the fractured store:
I wonder if they are going to add more items to the store already like extra cosmetics or Dynamight Gold packages
It's just Kickstarter-like packs for now. Cosmetics, gold, etc, will come once the game goes live
Oh yes, it's been an awesome day!
@Highlander two people are legit, long-time members of the Fractured community, not related to each other The third one we don't know yet, we've reached out to him/her, but it looks legit too!
Edit: it's legit!

Yes, a hardcore pve/survival challenge.

Hi everyone!
We've just completed the first generation of Myr, the continent Syndesia featured in Alpha 1 - Test 1! That's just the first iteration, and it's missing some key elements such as coast biomes, Heartwood and the Vale, but it's a major milestone nonetheless!
To celebrate, let's have a trivia game about Myr. Post your guesses to the following questions:
Prizes will be assigned to everyone who guesses the right number (or to the person who gets closest to it if no one does) ---> in the next 24 hours <---.
Need help guessing? Consider that...
You're free to discuss your guesses in this thread, but please make your answers obvious and don't post them more than once.
A note. don't worry about pre-alpha testers, they don't really have an advantage since the distribution of resource nodes and creatures in this new version is quite different from the one they're playing on. Let the screenshots talk!
Enjoy!
Hi everyone!
After a long hiatus in updates due to summer vacation and the total focus of the team on the production of Alpha 1, it’s time to get back on track!
A couple weeks ago, we’ve asked you to cast your preference on the topics to be prioritized in the upcoming feature spotlights. The Alpha 1 map was the clear winner there – so here it is!

As always, let us know what you think of this update… and brace yourselves for the Store!
Hi everyone!
Here we go with the results of the Myr Trivia - a survey where the community was invited to guess some info regarding the first iteration of Myr, the first continent of Syndesia.
The total amount of resource nodes in the continent is... 635,882! That's about 11,000 per km2!
@Mazikar, with his very close 687.250 guess, wins 1,000 Foundation Points!
The total amount of decorations in the continent is... 2,394,802! That's about 41,500 per km2, almost 4 times more than resource nodes.
No one got close, but one got closer: @Gantrydublin, with his 1,500,000 guess! Congratulations, 1,000 Foundation Points!
The total amount of monster spawners in the continent is... 7,303! That's about 127 per km2, which means 200-300 creatures per km2.
@Crozz, with his very good 7,000 guess, wins 1,000 Foundation Points!
How long did it take to generate the map and all of the above? About 5 hours on a laptop with 16gb of RAM and an Intel i7-7700HQ CPU. Certainty one of our artists' PCs with a ton of CPU cores and more RAM would have done better, but so it went this time.
@Aurellas and @Logain guessed right and won 200 Foundation Points!
Thank you all for participating and thanks to SpatialOS for making this massive world possible.
Got any question on the results? Ask away! If you liked the idea, we'll run more trivias during Alpha 1
Cheers!
Hi everyone!
October is almost gone, and we've been a little silent while we sprint towards the upcoming launch of the Fractured Pre-Alpha, which we are now glad to announce is really behind the corner.
That's not the only great news this month has brought, however. Let's cover them all!

As always, let us know what you think of this update… and brace yourselves for the Pre-Alpha!
Hi @VyrVandalous As @Logain mentioned, we do have additional funding, we're not limited to Kickstarter and store sales. On the other hand, it's also true we're not selling as much as expected, so we're (slowly) burning through our savings. We expect things to change radically though once we lift the NDA and Alpha 1 begins, without having to resort to any kind of "pay to win"
Hi everyone!
All good things must come to an end... and so do the Kickstarter-replica Pledge Packs currently available in the Fractured Store.
You've asked this question frequently, now the answer is official: pledge packs are going to be removed from the store at the end of the next Alpha test. This means they're going to be available for approximately 1 month longer (mid July), then they'll be gone for good!
To celebrate this big change, we've decided to apply a discount to current pledge packs. Say hi to the Crowdfunding End Sale!
Enjoy Fractured!
Hi @TianlanSha, our current UI as a whole is pretty much a placeholder (like our current player animations), as typical for games in alpha. We decided to use that asset because it had all the basic functionalities we needed - we could have made them all ourselves, but why spending precious hours of work on something that is placeholder anyway?
@Razvan said in Is this game using these Unity Asset Store assets and why?:
On the other hand, when it comes to assets (the ones that will be in the release), you want a homogenous graphics style, which is kind of hard to achieve by gluing together cheap assets from unity store.
Definitely, that is why all our 3D assets and textures are made internally aside from a couple exceptions - such as basic animals because well, a rabbit is a rabbit as @Xzoviac mentioned
Games that are assembled with random store assets are indeed terrible to look at.
Hi everyone!
We've got some great news: MORE is coming to Fractured!
MORE Founder Packs.
MORE Foundation levels.
MORE content than planned in Alpha 2 - Test 2.
MORE coronav... no, this one's not!
Enjoy Fractured!
Hi everyone!
Player cities are the next big feature coming to the world of Fractured. The first iteration of the system is going live in
. However, I've only managed to reply to some of the questions - in fact, we've perhaps cover half of the system, if not less!To fill the gap, I'm going to be live again on Twitch on Sunday, May 3, from 7pm CEST (1pm EDT). To tune in, just open Oxfurd's Twitch channel a few minutes before the time announced above - we can chat a little before the Q&A session begins!
