@jaggernsk welcome to the forum!
The concept of "enough PvP" is subjective.
From the perspective of a PvEr who's farming by himself and gets ganked by a red train, there is too much PvP.
From the perspective of a PvPer who wants to kill anybody without drawback there is not enough free PvP.
I think at this point the best system is the one which makes everyone unhappy.

RE: 3 Planets, 3 Different Games?
@Xulu they will be three planets with different rules, with the possibility to travel from one to another, I don't think we know yet how this planet travel will work, but I've read somewhere that it's going to be a "Great cooperative effort" to move from a planet to another.
This combined with the fact that foreign races will have a forced limited time on another planet will ensure that demon outbreaks on Arboreus (for example) will be very limited in occurrence and duration.
I'm not scared at all by this, actually, demons will be able to stay like 30 minutes on Arboreus and they will be highly debuffed by the planet, every mob will be hostile to them and resident beastmen will have buffs to counter them, so I guess it will not be something to be concerned about at all. -
RE: Patch Log - v.a.2.5.0f + Jail System Info
@fr4me01 it's a PvP game, of course, in fact you can do PvP.
It's also a game where, in the human world, you get punished if caught being an evil PvPer, so yes, you get punished for doing PvP.
Differently from other games, in Fractured being evil comes with a cost, you must be willing to pay it.
You kill a person every week? You won't have so bad a karma to get punished much.
You kill tenths of people on a daily basis? When you get caught you serve your time in punishment.
It's not like your killing didn't destroy hours and days spent by other players and it's not like wild PvP is the main core concept of Fractured, that's it.
If you don't address the problem you'll end up with Arboreus, Tartaros and Tartaros Two.
Chosing to be good has rewards.
Chosing to be bad has risks.
You decide.
Plus, I've never said everything is perfect as is, and I'm not in favor of a system that prevents you from playing at all, which is way somewhere in some topic I've proposed some sort of forced labor mechanic, allowing the jailed evildoer to play somehow while serving its sentence. -
RE: Grass in your house
@Ostaff some houses also have gatherable plants in them, which respawn!

RE: Bounty Hunting & Jails - Official Feedback Thread
@OlivePit actually you could just let them play at will with some limitations, for example the inability to flag as evil (so that they can't commit more crimes) and "selling" stuff to city markets without getting money for that, to simulate forced labor.

RE: skill cooldown
@hipo20 truth is sometimes skills do animation (or half animation) but they're not actually fired, maybe that's your actual problem?

RE: Bounty Hunting & Jails - Official Feedback Thread
@SirAlbion the only thing I agree on is the fact that jail actually puts you out of the game completely, techincally banning you, unless you're willing to play an alt while you wait for your sentence.
It would be nice if you could do something while in jail, like forced labor, mining resources for the community, or something like that to keep you busy somehow.That said, it's necessary to have harsh punishment on a balanced world for PvP against unwilling targets.
You can PvP as much as you can steal in RL, but if you get catched you pay for it and it is just fair.
About the invested time, when ganking you're probably "destroying" days of work for the average PvEr you kill, so it's not like days in jail would be unfair, again given the fact that you can play something somehow. -
[Minor/Trivial] Opening Chest While Other Chest Opened
If you have two chests close together and the inventory of one open and you click on the second one to open that too, the character will walk towards the second chest, briefly open that inventory too, then since it also briefly exited the range for the first chest inventory to stay open it closes both.
Bug is totally trivial and it's fix can be postponed, since you can reopen again the wanted chest and the wasted time is minimum, but still a surely unwanted effect, to be fixed when more important things are.

RE: Jail System Bugged
Jokes aside, I think the true bug lies in the fact that when you flag evil you should instantly go down to 0 karma, so you can't have positive karma while evil, so you can't be jailed with positive karma.

RE: Can build storage chest and tanning tub on top of each other
@joop next step is: all the hides you put in these chests get processed after 16 hours!

RE: Metal Gear not so Solid
@Logain ah right, I could build one in my house too, now that I think about it!

RE: Change to Syndesia, the true mix of PvE and PvP?
@LonelyCookie actually a lot of PvPers are already saying that this system is preventing them from doing PvP during this alpha, and usually when every side is complaining about how things are going it means you're doing it good.
That said I can't talk about numbers, of course a big organized group will always smash smaller or less organized ones, but giving a perma-malus to low karma characters will make it easier for smaller groups of heroes to go and smash red players, putting then them to jail, for example.
If you remove looting system you just fully take away the actual risk component in the game, which i find fundamental for it to work.
I think that currently the main problem is players luring mobs on other players and letting them be killed without even flagging red.
As a potentially good PvE player I too fear we'll end up with two Tartaros if the PvP problem isn't addressed, but as I said, PvPers are already complaining for jail to be too harsh, so maybe the devs actually nailed it and we just need to grow some good sherifs to build a punishing party against reds. -
RE: Metal Gear not so Solid
@Logain thanks, I will have to try it!
Which means I will have to check if we have built an enchantment table in town actually, I remember almost building the mage shop alone a couple days ago! XD -
RE: Patch Log - v.a.2.5.0f + Jail System Info
@Kralith you nailed it!
Some people think that PvP = Strong Big Ganker suddently raining down on Unexpecting Farming Noob.
Almost every game that doesn't address wild PvP ends up losing its whole PvE population, which means dead game more sooner than later. -
RE: Color Blindness and Health Bar
@GamerSeuss that's why I'm here!

RE: Change to Syndesia, the true mix of PvE and PvP?
The idea of a "balanced" world where full PvP is possible but has its consequences is not bad, if it's correctly implemented.
I think you shouldn't work on the loot aspect but rather on the punishment on low karma players.
Jail is alredy there and kinda punishing in terms of out-of-the-game time when you get put in, but it could be not enough, or not only fair.
As someone pointed out, being put in jail actually stops you from playing the game, which is not exactly all good.
Maybe a system considering a permanent buff for high karma characters and a huge malus for low karma characters could be better, you're not prevented from playing, but doing stuff becomes harder and harder the more you shift towards the dark side. -
RE: Metal Gear not so Solid
@Logain that's a good idea too!
Which reminds me I've never enchanted anything and have no idea of how it works! -
RE: Color Blindness and Health Bar
@GamerSeuss of course I had to deal my whole life with the fact that health bars are red!
The point is which kind of red you use and on which background color, some little differences in brightness and saturation that a normal person could see as "nothing changed" can be a huge improvement for color blind people.
There are really a lot of ways to overcome this issue with little effort, but I've no hurry on this, QoL of this kind can wait, but still it's useful to point it out. -
Color Blindness and Health Bar
Short version.
Health bar is something dark reddish.
Lost health is dark with a little transparency.
On terrain like grassland that transparency turns into dark greenish.
A bar made of dark reddish and dark greenish is not easy to be seen by a colorblind person, especially if it's thin.There is no long version.
(I know this is QoL for a little portion of players, but still wanted to point it out, since I'm just a little color blind and with some effort I can tell the difference between mobs remaining and lost health, but those who are in worse condition than me will really have a hard time!)
