Hello,
First and foremost, I'm totally against slavery in any form, and find it one of the most shameful parts of the world history.
Yet, since there're Demons, who are not particularly nice entities, will they have that kind of labour force to satisfy their needs?
Question inspired by a program on the National Geographic

This post is full of awesome clarifications. Trying to get a few friends on board with this but they are being hard to sway with what there is available at the moment.
Yeah, it's hard to get people on board right now. We'll just have to wait for more information to be revealed. Once the devs start talking about stuff like the knowledge system, I think we're going to see a lot more activity.. Hopefully.
@Prometheus, thanks for the answers. Good to know survival isn't going to eat up all our gametime.
oh, I'm so eager to hear more about this knowledge system. I love wierd/unconventional builds, can't wait to theory-craft in whatever system devs are gonna come up with ^_^

Under one form or another, this question always come up in pre-release communities, for every game that is and ever was
If I make a game someday, that's definitely a topic I'll make sure we address in the first version of the design doc, hehe.
Probably because most people are sick of Asian female armour concepts

Like the concept very much! I hope you do not have to kill monsters too often as a hero to learn more about it. Otherwise, this would be a "grindy" feature too. But if I understood correctly, you are really focused on preventing grind which is great!
I think it could be nice, if heroes are able to discover some abilities also only when playing together with others and doing specific actions. This would encourage players to interact more with others and play cooperative.
Well, I already called it grindy-ish. Any game has its grind, really, but implementations are vastly different. I actually like what I see here; as @Logain rightly pointed it out, grind in Fractured seems to be rather restrictive. You can't just stick to a couple of "sweet" spots, you will have to move on and seek different ways to gain Knowledge points. Unlocking all info about creatures is unlikely to be required, unless you're a completionist.
As for unlocking some abilities through teamwork, it may be possible, especially if there're specific "teamwork" ones. -
RE: Contest: Involve people?
A great idea, but, as Ghoster pointed out, it excludes non-artists. It's fine to do such things, I love fan art, there're some stunning works around. But it would need to expand eventually, to include wider masses.
However, at this point in development, I don't think they should do such a thing. They're very few people working on an ambicious project, I doubt there's room for fan contests now. -

I see your point, but it's not really a reduction, slaves are still individuals, always have been.
That's for sure! What I meant by "downplaying" is that a slave NPC would be just a character who works for you - at most you would have to keep it alive. Other MMOs (such as BDO) have hired workers, but the concept is similar.
NPCs in Fractured instead have their own lives and businesses. You can't order them to do this and that. You can buy from their shops if they've setup one and it's open. If you're a regular customer and/or have a high reputation in the city they might offer you discounts at most. Just a couple examples, but you get the idea. Slaves wouldn't work in this picture.
@Logain sorry but that's not planned as of today!
I see, kinda like NPC's in good old Gothic, at least as I remember them.
All right, thanks for your replies  -

T'was in the forest when I got it,
So I sat me down to find it,
I could not find it no matter how long I looked,
So I took it home with me.What was it?
Note: Baldur's Gate 2 players keep quiet.
A splinter? Pretty nasty things, sometimes get them so deep underskin

RE: Contest: Involve people?
Less content means more room for imagination
Besides, some art may turn out to be inspirational for the dev team. I see no reason not to create a subforum for creative people to share their visions, in one form or another. Need not to be a contest, just for the sake of it.

RE: What unusual weapon types would you like to see?
Well, it may not fit, but I'd love to play someone with a musket and a rapier as a side weapon.
Actually, humans may have advanced to firearms in this universe -

I have to admit I simply know a solution to the first one, it's been around a while
And it's snow all around over here for the last month, and I like it after 5 years living in a warmer place ^_^ -
RE: The riddle cave
@esher I just have to recommend adding Wildstar to your list, seems reasonable It's underpopulated, true, but there's some fair f2p, fun gameplay, and an interesting story in there.

It's been a couple of days already, so I will go a bit to give out a spoiler: forget the numbers, a=1; b=1 doesn't really matter, a=b is the key.
Not sure if this isn't more misleading then helping
Saying anything more is basically giving out a solution my point is, people often focus on numbers instead of mechanism of the whole thing. You can substitute 1 with anything as long as a=b here.

@fyrsey it's true. i can only play about 30m to 1hr a day during work days of week and more at the weekends. i can survive 3 months with a 4-game series. i'm just looking for a coop PvE game, and ... friends to play with. i've played with no one but random players since i knew how to play games. that's the hardest part, harder than the game difficulty.
Well, if you stick with one community long enough, you should find some people you're happy to play with But I'm pretty much a solo player myself, even more so nowadays. Extensive gw2 experience didn't help, selfishness flowers there

i bought the whole red faction series in black friday. Steam added VND right before black friday and celebrated it by a sale week. Actually, the prices in VND are cheaper than USD already. After the week, fuck it was black friday then. Twice the fun, we did burn our money man.
Don't forget the Christmas sale soon

RE: The riddle cave
@esher funny that you mention ME, I just finished watching full let's play, really enjoyed it, felt like watching TV series, great story, and games aged rather well. And now watching Andromeda, don't want to buy it just yet, too many good unfinished games in my libraries
