@Specter maintain? or get? how does it apply ? you need to be in a guild with 5 players ? can it be same account or have to be different account ?
-
@grofire Doesn't have to be a guild but you'll need to team up with 5 people to claim a small town. You can't use 5 alts on the same account do so, you can only have 1 house per planet per account after all. If your town drops below 5 people, you don't immediately lose the town. You'll have some time to look for new citizens.

I know the player cities will be available for the next test, but will the dock portals be available in the upcoming alpha test session too? Or will it just be basic city management functions for now?
-
Can see cities being a lot of fun, battles and what not.

sexy map

We'll try to get docks in, but it's unlikely we'll manage to, we are running a bit late with the implementation of player cities as a whole!

(Hands @Prometheus a cot, a razor blade, a twenty four pack of Dr Pepper and some beef jerky)
Boss: Well folks, looks like its another all nighter again!
Me: Bu...bu...but boss! My friends will call me in as MISSING. I've already spent a whole season sleeping in over here!
Boss: Wait, friends? You still had those???? Obviously, I am not working you enough!

Didn't see this map until now. Great info.

5 players. that 4 more friends i don't have. lol. lets hope some people get lost and wander into my town.

@Specter As i am fairly new to all of this: are there ways to let a governor make a town more interesting to other players (or guilds)?
Currently i have no clue as what makes my city more interesting then others. I can imagine that taxes and such might work in my favor. (the cool town name also works)
coming fro Chronicles of Elyria (more like Elusive) where i ran a viking themed group of players: are there ways to 'theme' a city? (besides -i guess- selecting a specific planet)
-
@Dordolio I'd say location is very important. From what I gather (no pun intended lol) the resources located near you are what might attract some players.
-
@Dordolio Location will matter as Farlander said, as will the goals of the town (warfare, crafting, trading, that kind of stuff), taxes and the overal atmosphere. I imagine it will be similar to choosing which guild to join.
-
@Farlander I agree with that. (and thanks for reading and answering the post)
Location doesn't make my place stand out. (there are some differences, like bieng in mountain area or (near) a harbor. The question is more towards what i can offer. I can say allow you to build a huge guildhouse or make room for an "lawfull pvp arena" or add a library for magic users. Can i give/take titles (up to a certain level)? landlord, chief military or master guard. or are these just words without any additional rights to manage in a town?
that all said, i have been waiting for a moment in time that actually makes me do something. (i am not yet very invested in alpha gameplay... but this looks like a major point in time and opportunity to find out more. I will however not go into harvesting etc. unless it will be usefull in time. (not liking to start over and over...)
so far i like alphas and betas to follow game development, but not for actual (heavy) time investment for gameplay. (maybe i might consider if it adds something to launch gameplay later on. Getting invested with players and groups to join the town is in a way also investing in the future. but like many games - the future is far ahead and many things will change.)
-
@Specter thanks for responding. Thats why i placed it below / near that i guess interesting looking area.
-
@Dordolio Towns will have specialization trees of their own, so for example you could make a town in an area with ore resource nodes and specialize in becoming the best blacksmithing town.
-
fellow players, if you have a town, or plan for one)_ and you have ideas, let me know, i will add details (if you would like) to worldanvil: fractured world
Feel free to suggest and work out some details with me.
