Should the animals kill each other
-
Dont get me wrong I know were in alpha but damn is it weird too see the wolves directly beside the bears we all know of one other game ,that tied too make an ecosystem and does but can the damn animals avoid each other or at least bears and wolves it just makes sense.

They should! There should be factions of animals/tribes/etc that are hostile to each other. It's always weird seeing predators and prey right next to each other. Even if the predators aren't hungry/murderous, that doesn't mean the prey want to just hang out with them

Have either of you ever spent considerable time out in the wild? Animals know how to read each other. I've personally seen coyotes walking around deer, and them not interacting. Yeah, the deer looked ready to run at any minute, but they just sat there and continued eating under the deer feeder. It's only weird seeing these things if you've never been out, or only know of animals interactions from TV.
Yes. SOME animals should avoid other ones, but not all of them.

Well, I don't really see the point of mobs fighting each other. At most they could change the spawn points so animals that are prey and hunter don't spawn near each other.

Something a little bit like that kind of "virtual ecology" has been done in a historic verison of Ultima Online. It did not go well.
It'd be interesting if wolves attacked deer and such, but at the same time I think that the typical player isn't going to stop to notice that kind of thing. I'm expecting that the typical player is probably just going to run around killing everything that moves, because players gonna player.

I actually considered mentioning that too! It was a fun watch years ago when I watched it.

it would be pretty neat to see predators rank up by killing prey.

@Jetah We'd best ready ourselves with the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch!
If I see a rabbit, I can't assume it's an ordinary rabbit! It's the mouse foul beast I'd ever set eyes on!

I loved walking into an area where the npcs/animals were fighting in UO!

Maybe not implement the whole virtual ecology, but at least prevent that herbivorous and carnivores to mix as if they were friendly would already help, just to keep things slight realistic.
I am saying that it would be nice to implement at least that and not a complex system because, as others have mentioned, when the world is fully populated by players, there will be no animals around for long enough that they can agro on each other

They have this in the Elder Scrolls Online. The original Quake had npcs that were hostile to each other as well. No complicated ecology needed. Just have them interact in some way.
