@Zori said in Road Speed Buff Bug?:
I had also noticed that cart movement speed doesn't change at all, regardless whether you're in a paved road or not.
I thought it did, but only by like 5%

I wonder if that would be tricky to fix, coz it is still technically connected
@kellewic you should post it for everyone to revel in the past
@Helix said in Player towns should not be safe:
This is going to be controversial, but I don't think player towns should be safe or grant immunity from pvp. It should be entirely dependent on the governor and the guild owning the town to provide protection for it's citizens. Like wise towns should require fortifications (walls, watch towers, etc) to be built around the parameter to keep unwanted travelers out.
This might be something for when all of the city features are actually implemented. There is probably a long way to go before we get watchtowers and guards and crap. Like we literally only just got cities... We need to test that the cities can actually be built into cities without issues before we worry about the devs making siege equipment to attack them and NPC's to defend them. Would you have preferred that they held off Alpha 2 test 3 another 3-6 months?
@PaulMacabre said in NO EU server? no thanks!:
i refuse to play a mmo when the server is in the US .. i rather play with lower population and have good ping then high pop with bad ping, its not only me, most people from EU will not be playing this game now! was about to buy the 299 pledge , thank god i found out before buying. i rly dont understand wye you give the EU the lesser experience.. its lazy and cheap. give us a dedicated EU server!
Maaate, how is that a valid reason? I live in Australia... one of the worst places in the world for ping... and ima not having any issues at all!! I likely won't even get an Oceania server, EVER!!! like geezz.... 300 ping is nothing where i live. In fact, it's actually considered good.

@Zori Unfortunately, it isn't possible to open them to the public. I live in Duath, rather close to the east spawn and wanted to make them accessable for all passers by, but couldn't. If you still need a town to live in tho, we are open to all
im already in town, but if i were being completely honest, i've barely lived in the town. as soon as we're done building and crafting our weapons, there was practically no need to come back to town unless you're storing items again.
I live all the way down in Eden, you can imagine the fun im having when I have to go to the Goblin Hills or Heartwood.
and that is unfortunate that we can't open them to the public, I was thinking about starting a town and making it open for everyone as it seems to be the logical thing to do but it looks like that would be a futile effort.
Lol, you aren't far from me!! I know the pain of going to Goblin Hills or even Heartwood. I went to Heartwood 3 times and Goblin Hills twice within the last 24h XD Am pretty disappointed about the crafting stuff restrictions, but i guess it sorta makes sense. Coulda been something they implemented when trading was available instead of now, when it isn't.
I don't know if any of you have realised... but the armour crafted with cured leather... is worse than the non-cured stuff... the only benefit of cured is that the chestplate is 3kg lighter... but it has far less defence... It is almost a waste of time even bothering with curing leather XD.
But, as a few people did comment, yes, if players are actively trying to craft them, it is very much more player friendly if the city isn't a city of rando's and everyone already knows who's task is what (crafter, gatherer, lumberer, etc.)
@Silynx I havn't unlocked that skill yet to do any testing, but is it possible only the melee 'skills' are capable of critting, and not magic based ones? Legit question (coz i probably wont unlock it before the test concludes)
I don't know for sure, but it is possible none of your skills stat off your weap, and that is your damage without casting that it shows on the weap.

@Xzait said in Skills do the same damage with any weapon:
@Vancushen As @Prometheus pointed out to me earlier on yesterday, not all magic spells deal magic damage. For example, Fire Bolt does fire damage, and Ice Spike deals frost damage. The Magic Missiles spell does Magic damage. So the +8% Magic Damage, only affects non-elemental magic
What about weapons? I tried fire bolt with the staff and with fists, and it did the same damage
If you take a look on the skill info on how damage is calculated, alot of skills don't actually get affected by your weapon. Quite a few are (Base Damage)+Int*(n). Fire Bolt is one of those skills.

I thought I saw this happen myself, but I dismissed it thinking i must have had some kind of lingering damage over time i didn't realise.

@catraccoon I personally believe that all of this is only an issue, due to the trading aspect of everything not being implemented yet. If players could trade, a solo player could simply buy crafted gear off of players in cities. Also, like @Zori said, your plot doesn't HAVE to be in the town itself. This means that you could simply ally with a city to be able to craft your own gear, but be a recluse anyways. This could either be an aggreed upon thing, where u help the city out with some things in return for being able to use the crafting stuff, or just cause and trust they wont boot you.
I was fighting Wisps with my friend @LilCassiopeia and my talent tree reset on me mid battle. I suddenly ran out of mana and it was regenerating so slowly, due to me initially not being a mage build, thus making my character completely useless for the rest of the fight. What makes it even weirder though, is that i still had all my skills to utilise. They didn't disappear.
This is what the beginning of the change from blended mesh to cut mesh looks like:
Same things is happening to me on occasion. Only on the weapons though it seems. The only fix I can find is replacing that weapon with another one, which shouldn't be the only choice. This would be a massive issue for players opting for 6 str, that need as little weight as possible on their character to hold materials.
After Alt + Tabbing to post the bug, it fixed it. Seems it is an uncommon bug, but still a bug.
I crafted a mage quarterstaff after checking to see that all of the logs gave no buff. Due to this, i made one out of Birch, due it to being the most available resource for me. However, after making it, I realised that, yes, the wood type does impact the bonus given, as I got a +50 in luck like i would have if i made a Longbow.
