pre alfa date ?
-
we know from the roadmap that its should be this month, but already an half month passed, and to my understanding the pre alfa should be 2 weeks, so that doesn't leave a long time before it start, and it will be hard to prepared for it like this... @Prometheus @Specter can we get at least a week notice before?
-
@grofire
do you expect them to just start it and not notify everyone? I'm quite sure they'll tweet it, post a news story, post a KS backer update, etc. When it's ready, you'll know.
-
@grofire
Promised at the end of this year.
-
@jetah i just want it to be notice before time so we can get some time prepared....
@33Hp according to the roudmap, its in October.
-
I guess an early notice would help a part of people try to get some time off work (free days) etc.
-
The month has been reported but probably the day will be a surprise.
-
@grofire
you might get 3 days unless they have a pre-alpha build while working on the internal build.
-
@33hp поц, что сказать. Даже забыл когда тесты. Фейспаун. Ты не достоин тестирования
-
The pre-alpha is being postphoned to November.
-
@specter OK thanks, just please a week notice, or more it's better.
-
@specter said in pre alfa date ?:
The pre-alpha is being postphoned to November.
Could something like that be made official and posted in a news statement, just so people are aware and even better yet, including the reason ; )?
-
Its all good. We will get our chance.
-
I totally missed the bit of information about it being postponed to November Oh well, no biggie, this is a busy month for me anyway so November is ok for me
-
@logain Prometheus is going to write a newspost, hopefully later this week.
-
aw. I was relatively free these next two weeks, but I expect my schedule to go hideous starting the week before black friday, just because it always does XD Still, better to have a demi-functional mess than a non-functional mess for a pre-alpha. Make sure the devs hand out specific instructions on what they want tested, and how to turn in bug reports. this ain't my first rodeo, and clarity and ease of reporting is an immensely beneficial thing when the system is expected to crash 72 times cause you looked at it funny XD
-
One thing is for sure.
If people keep crashing, bears will not end up hungry. Full map of naked people all over the place running back for their gear, cursing the wild life.
-
it used to be devs kept quite about their projects until open beta was ready. then they started doing closed beta-> open beta. then they started doing alpha-> closed beta-> open beta. now they've come up with something called pre-alpha... I don't know if we're heading in the right path in terms of game production or not... people become more and more entitled as I've seen players commenting on how devs should move their release dates to fit with the players' schedule. I've also seen devs justify half finished messes as just "alpha" while charging players insane amount of money for the privilege of being part of the testing phase.
-
@althalus I was mostly joking, but you have a fair point. to some extent, the use of limited player participation in the alpha stage is a trend that comes from devs finding the results almost as useful as formal QA, and the players pay you to do it, as opposed to you paying the professionals to do it right, as long as the players actually make proper bug reports. I have done proper QA on actual games, and I know what to expect, so I'm not expecting alpha, let alone pre-alpha, to be anything that a buggy hot mess - but it always amuses me whenever anyone gets into a pre-beta game and then complains (not reports, but kzeches) about bugs. Like what did you expect, ya goofs? it's nowhere near release right now!
-
@specter Thanks for the update.
-
The sooner the pre-alpha the better, I don’t want to fall off the leaderboard
