Bought the Governor pack

Which evidently means I get to name and claim a town. I don't really know what that means yet, but I'm leaning towards Syndesia as the location.
Perhaps with experience in Alpha/Beta I'll change my mind, but I do like PvP, just not the aggressive, griefing kind (I tend to the carebear, I suspect). I prefer bigger, realistic, kingdom-style, long-term PvP, and Syndesia seems like the best fit.
Anyway, thought I'd introduce myself here. If anyone's interested, let me know!
-
I'm a pretty big carebear myself. I'm not sure if I'll evolve as a person once I get a better grasp of the game but I do believe Syndesia would be the safer bet. It's more balanced versus full-on coddling and full on griefing territory.
-
Yeah, that was my impression too. Anyhow, if you'd be interested in trying out my town, you'd be welcome.

@roccandil
Welcome to the group of governors
I think most of us will wait till the experience of Alpha to decide how their towns will be.
Especially since a free town, if we want to make one, can lead to a fast losing of our governor status. But iβm still up to try a free chaos town. Maybe i can be a real good chaos leader

Welcome to the group of governorsThanks! I expect I'll stick with a guild town, and hopefully avoid forcible eviction.
Am wondering if there will be any functional difference between lawful/chaotic good.
-
@roccandil i donβt know for towns itself, but for your character for sure. At least i hope it will, otherwise the whole system would not make sense, if it just matter if good, neutral or evil.

We will soon find your Governor's Corruption as did Bard against the Master of Lake-town
but you shall not escape away in your riverboat of gold but instead hang by the noose
as your ambition ceases and instead lines our pockets of the Jewels of the realms
-
Wait, I thought we were on the same side?
-
Yeah I was thinking of scooping that up myself but decided that since I only have 3-4 hours of game time a night it probably wouldn't be a good investment. Congrats though
-
@Roccandil if you leave the guild wouldnt you be forcibly be evicted? I'd think it would be a better idea to join a town where you aren't forced into a faction or guild and be at their mercy... I would hope that most non-guild town mayors would just ignore players who keep their head down and do their own thing unlike guild towns... would be nice if we can just go into the forest and build our hubble and not be part of any town...
-
@Althalus A town being a guild town does not mean that only people from the guild can live there. The Governor can kick out anyone, regardless of the town being a guild town or not.

Of course, you can just claim a part of land somwhere remote and build your house / home there.

That's cool; we can have embassies, maybe.

Interesting question popped into my head after reading through this... has there been any literature on how land takeover/town ownership will work for beastmen?
-
@Roccandil see you there Roc.
-
@Pluto They can claim land on Arboreus just like the other races can claim land on their planets. Only difference is the lack of PvP on Arboreus, so Beastmen cities cannot be besieged/conquered.

I was wondering.. What if towns and cities in Arboreus would face sieges from PvE factions.
-
So what happens when all the plots/towns are owned?
-
@Pluto I believe they will procedurally generate more land then.
-
Oh, wow: that's cool!

Is there a route where you do not lose being the Gov. with the package? Also any real incentive like collecting taxes or anything to be a Gov other then saying you are
