How many players will get invite to the pre-alpha tests?

@logain Open world pvp ends always to be a ZvZ (zerg vs zerg) with a purely spam of aoe spells that's why I prefer PvP with objectives like for instanced PvP (aka Capture the flag, Capture the point, Escort and so on, or the most common arena).To me the vision of the game has not changed. DS said from the beginning that the target would have been both PvP and PvE so it would have been foolish to believe that the PVP would not be restricted. You can still go for mindless open PvP (PK or Zerg) on 2 planets.

What about pvp with these elements? River beetwen players and stuff...

@finland There are plenty of anti-zerg things that can be implemented. Player collision is one (makes it harder to stack in the same small area), and there already seems to be friendly fire. If friendly fire is extended to AoE, then that could be a nightmare if you try to zerg. They can also make skills that scale with the number of players hit, essentially making them anti-zerg skills. Echoslam and Fatal Bonds are some good examples from Dota 2. Wastrel's Demise and Spiteful Spirit from Guild Wars would be great if altered for AoE targeting.
I also very much dislike zergs, and prefer small scale pvp, so I'm hoping there are mechanics implemented to combat them. I still love open world pvp though, and hope Fractured's vision of it doesn't get compromised.

@target yeah I hope too on something like you linked from dota, that wasagood example. Our feedback will be crucial anyway. Balancing and fixing spell/abilities is hard that's why exists a community. But I hope that will be a capable community that will give the right feedback. I totally dislike overpowerd skills/heroes in many moba.

Having misread that, let me ask what I though that the question was.
How many planets will be there, at pre-alpha? All? Only Syndesia to test both pvp and pve elements? None?

@phaethonas only Syndesia and I suppose only human race. I think they just want a firs feedback prolly engine/gameplay related.

@phaethonas I'm sure at 100% that will be Syndesia only. I don't know if we get the 100% of the Planet to test and I don't know if we can test more race. But I doubt that we can test Demons or Bestmen that usually born on a different planet. Anyway we'll see this fall.

For prealpha??
I personally am 100% certain we will have about three flavors of GRASS BIOME that don't quite compose a planet, and will be able to play as Human only - with female if we're lucky - and do little more than swing a sword (and not anything else) and shoot a fireball (and not anything else).
At this stage they're going to be focusing on the procedural generation actually working right, as well as the basic movement engine and battle systems. I'd be pleasantly surprised if you could attack other players yet, and if the day/night cycle was implemented.
It'll basically be a stress test to see if the game implodes when more than ten players log in and all move to different areas of the world map =p

It's random. They pick few people randomly between those who were active. So yeah you need to be social and partecipate but most important is: you have to be lucky
