Loot system
-
Hey hey I want to make a question to the team. ^^
How will the loot system work?
Since we have an open world pvp, will we lose everything we carry with us if we die while out in the world (ex: Albion), will there be no risk for us at all or will that depend on the race you are playing?
Best regards,
Frost.

If I can add question to that, how will loot system work, as in will it be like in Diablo that you can get drops from mobs, or will it be player run shops selling stuff. If the 1st one will you be able to get "same" item with different stats?
-
Two very interesting questions
@Frost yes, you will lose everything you carry when you die, even if you're a Beastman on Arboreus. You can still recover the items in your body if you get back to it in time and nobody has looted in between though. Whether other players (not in your party) can loot you (and the consequences) depends on the race/planet, of course, as for all criminal actions
@MarkasUrthadar you will get drops from mobs, but mostly limited to special resources and currency. No complete items, aside from very special situations. All complete items will be crafted by - and therefore also traded between - players!

@prometheus Does the full lot system apply to PvP only or PvE as well?
And will there be areas where the drop is different, similar to Albion green, yellow, red and black zones, or will all be the same? And also if it apply's to both PvE and PvP are there any differences in how their drops work?

Looting a corpse for which you don't have rights is a criminal action. Quite classic.
There will be harder and easier areas of course, but no Albion-like stuff. They have that because of different PvP rules (not allowed, penalties, FFA). You know Fractured's world building is entirely different

@prometheus May I do a suggestion? How about adding a binding system? If you bind an item the item won´t drop but you won´t be able to trade/sell it, nor change it to other character, in other words the item will get character bound ^^

i think especially in the demon world this would be harmful
a world totally based on PvP ruled by the strong need to get the loot of enemy playerstherefore you have to choose the planet
-
@lohen Well maybe. Just change it according to the different races then maybe.
-
I like the albion system, make the game more co-op. I like to think that a clan can work togheter to acchiev things!
-
I have a question, in the faq they told us about the drop from the monsters, will they only drop materials, nothing more? Like, potions or something else?
-
Well, Prometheus said earlier in this thread monsters mostly drop crafting resources and currency. I don't think they will be dropping potions unless we use potions as a currency or crafting material.
-
@vengu aaah, i see, thanks!
I like when mobs drop something rare, it makes me feel real good. Like ToS, when you try very hard to drop a nice hat, nothing that will make the grind necessary, only comestic itens. You know what i mean?
-
Yeah, I get what you're saying. I've farmed plenty of mounts in WoW. We'll see if they have anything like that, because Prometheus did talk about special situations.
-
@vengu i dont think it would be cool if monster drop currency
“hey you cant find a sword because its logic but this wolf stole some money“ ...
A cleaner way would be drops that can be sold
-
@lohen I assume Prometheus meant that for example animals drop crafting materials while bandits drop currency.
-
@vengu thats exactly how it should be
-
@lohen I totally agree with you

Does resource are increased by magic find stat or luck?

This would't be realistic. Bandit already has X currency on him, he shouldn't magically be able to drop more than he has if a player with higher luck arrives.
Also what if more people with different charisma were hitting the mob? We would just have unnecessary complications. And little by little such complications build up and drain more and more of Fractured computing resources.

bandit has x but only drops x/4. if your luck is good they may drop x/2.
