Why Albion is boring and Fractured will not be ?
-
Hi all,
My name is Kwen and I'm new here.
I'm very excited by this game !But when I read the informations about it, that remember me Albion...
I enjoyed playing Albion during months but after a moment, it seems to do the same stuff again and again for eternity...Why this game will be different ? How the developpers will keep the game away from "SandBox boring same stuff everytime" ?
Thank you

Hi @KingKwen and welcome.
I am a former Albion player too and even there is some similarities there is a lot differencies as well between these two games. Albion was too much repeating same stuff and it felt endless grind for sure. I personally have high hopes with Fractured and it has potential to make most things better than Albion. Character progression is more horizontal focused and avoids repeating same activities over and over again. Moreover, because Fractured cares also of PvE minded players, they will for sure focus more on PvE related stuff than what Albion did. Okay, Albion is trying to fix that problem, but I dont know how well they have managed.

To put it simply: Fractured will actually be a game, whereas Albion is just a race to pay the most money, thinly disguised as a game.
It's like the difference between a firefighter who saves your life for free and a very expensive stripper dressed as most of a firefighter.

I think the devs here actually want to make a fun game, as opposed to draining as much cash as possible from the players.

No clue really. Maybe will be just as bad as Albion.

How you can predict that way if you don't have a clue.. Imho Fractured has now a chance to learn and not make same mistakes what Albion actually did.

That won't be possible.
Albion's design forces hardcore, P2W PVP, with a heavy bias in favor of guilds, for the endgame of all tasks - even crafting.
No matter how awful Fractured hypothetically becomes, it will always have three separate planets that are all equally viable at endgame... or at least, "endgame" on Tartaros will be completely irrelevant to "endgame" on Arboreus and vice versa.

Hi there and welcome!

Personally, I just hope that devs will stay true to their vision. If you look through Albion's patch notes you'll see that it had good direction at first, but since Carleon update they've butchered their economy, capitalized more on instanced areas, which is the opposite of what should've been done, and there's also little to no new content, by which I mean once the "meta" has settled and all cookie cutter builds has been found, there is little to no ways to invent any new playstyles, etc., etc.
All problems with Albion are rooted with devs losing their vision and having wrong priorities as a result.
I just hope Fractured won't repeat their mistakes, which is going to be rather easy because of the unorthodox gamedesign.
