It’s not. We’ve always felt that sandbox MMOs tend to discourage players who don’t appreciate hostile interactions. Because of this, we have designed a unique universe that will allow you to choose whether to start in a brutal open-PvP environment (Tartaros), a solely cooperative one (Arboreus) or a mix of the two (Syndesia), according to your race of choice. Travels between planets and interactions with other races will be possible, but subject to limitations.

Thanks for the heads up, didn't know there was a new one! Will try to watch it, it does seem like it has opened more questions than answers indeed. but as far as the previous Q&As goes and some of his answers to people on the forum, that was the consistent thing.

I believe what they're trying to say in that is if you're already a part of that city, you can have a vote and win the election.I'm not really sure where you've seen the 'taxing a city to take control of it', but all of the Q&As i've watched suggested that there are only 2 ways to take control over a city, by votes or by siege.
If you're not part of the city, you do it by siege.
if you're already a part of it, you can do it by votes. If the city is under dictatorship rule and does not have votes, you can get you and your buddies to siege it to take control of it. -

you can't really siege on planets iirc.
To siege a city/town is to take control of their city.
Demons cannot stay long in the human world, in the same sense that Humans cannot remain in the Demon world or Aboreous for long. You can't even enter arboreous if you're Evil aligned.I think what you're looking for is PVP or 'PK'ing on other planets which is possible. As a Demon, you can travel to the human realm and engage them in fights without having to lawfully engage them and vice versa.
Humans living in Syndesia however can also PVP but only if it's under a lawful agreement.

You can travel.
There is also an asteroid mechanic, think of them as 'random biome instances'.They have varying intervals, some are once in a lifetime, once a year, month, week, etc. etc.
and they can last for hours to a week.that way people have a chance to get the 'scarce' resource that are inaccessible to them, particularly if it's guild locked.
This is also the design philosophy behind the three planets. If I understand and remember it correctly, and im certain someone will correct me on this...
The three planets are designed to cater for all 3 niche player needs.
Open world PVP can only happen in Tartaros
Lawful PVP can happen in Syndesia
No PVP is for Arboreous but there are certain parts of Arboreous where this is possible.So if PVP is what you're after, Tartaros would be your choice of planet. This doesnt necessarily mean that you can't travel to other planets and PVP, you can except for Arboreous, you need to be aligned with a peaceful alignment to enter it.
There is also a very big difference between knocking a player down vs killing them.
knocking them down doesnt give you any negative effect, killing them however would put you on negative alignment.

if you watched the Q&As you'll be able to get the gist of the idea that the devs are trying to push.
They want travelling between planets to be a laborious task so that people would actually plan for it and use the towns/cities in between as a 'resting spot' or w/e. if 'fast travel' between planets is implemented, that would defeat the purpose of several mechanics implemented in the game, one of them is the Asteroid mechanic.

All markets are local. There is no planetary merchant system. Players must deliver their products to local markets and may now use any means of fast travel to do so.
In regards to equipment, you will have the ability to sell those are local merchants.

the wiki is not fully updated, a much larger and more detailed content for your Qs can mostly be found on Q&As, the knowledge about the game is definitely quite scattered so popping up a thread can definitely help answer more of your Qs.

i'd strongly suggest that you read the pvp mechanics of the game first and the difference between all 3 planets to get a gist of an idea of how PVP will work.
as for ZVZ, it was already answered/hinted on the Q&A that they intend to work against the typical zvz cheese mechanics like player stacking and over loading zones to lag it.
They haven't fully disclosed everything yet but those were the 2 key main areas that they've highlighted.
It sounds like your concern is on the server overload more so than the tactic itself though.
If it is the tactic itself, then it's being addressed or will be addressed. Devs have acknowledged that it'll generally be the way to go on large scale pvps/guilds, but there are many mechanics that would sort of avoid the zvz, one of them is the asteroid mechanic where scarce resources would have limited time means of accessing them.
if it is the server overload, then i'm not too familiar on what their approach is to remedy that.
There would definitely large scale pvps that are not directly related to scarce resource but a strategic location though, that'll get interesting.

general trend of the sandbox mmo's leans that way later on in the game, but this game is actually trying its best to thwart against that direction.
There are body collision, and other mechanics (that I'm not too familiar of) that are being implemented or going to be implemented to thwart people from doing something like, oh idk. 50 people stacked up on one cell.

Yes you can, this was covered in the Q&A.
You can either do a 'hostile/violent' take over or by votes.
It depends on how the town is being run.If a town is being run in a 'democratic' way, there will be votes.
You can also run it as a dictator and forever be its leader.As for violent take overs, once a town/city has been taken over, the victors will have a choice of either booting out everyone that lives there and let the entire place decay overtime or absorb them as a subordinate.
