The alignment part will not work because it can change. I am not sure where I stand with that race locked guilds, perhaps I am fine with both options... Anyhow, even the ingame guilds would be race locked, nothing stops guilds to be multi-race communities and just create separated sub-guilds into the game. Therefore, the race lock can be bypassed very easily so perhaps the locking is vain in the first place.

RE: Is being a Demon all around negative?
@Nekrage said in Is being a Demon all around negative?:
So far what I have been reading about Demons is that they start with Negative alignment and seem to suffer some pretty damning negative effects because of this.
Cons to being a Demon:
Always susceptible to loot loss on death with full loot PvP always active. This is actually a pro (for demon minded players). Those who want hardcore PvP content typically want full loot ruleset without any restrictions.
The base idea is that different planets offer different content for different playstyles. Every race is meant to play most of the time in their own planet and just make short visits to other planets now and then, if they want to. Therefore, I would say that you should not worrie about the demons because they are just fine, and if the Tartaros environment does not appeal you perhaps the Syndesia with restrictive PvP system could be better option. See you there..

RE: Anyone else concerned how the last design journal was literally two years ago?
It would be nice at least get the Q&A content in written.
Long videos are not the best place to store the newest information. @Prometheus

RE: Why we need attribute respec options.
Attribute reroll possibility is simply a must, from new player point of view but also if there will be notable balance changes between "classes" and roles, and in addition if players just want to try something else out, perhaps test out new abilities they have unlocked. The reroll system can be somewhat limited but not too restrictive.

RE: Is this a new hyped up Albion or games that fall in that territory?
@Jetah Not a clone but it is easy to argue that Albion has most similarities with Fractured than any other game which is why so many compares these two with each other.

So your saying it has Trammel........that sucks. Trammel is what ruined UO.
Well Arboreus can be somehow compared to Trammel, however, you are saying that it ruined UO because it became so popular?

This is a comment what you could expect from Donald Trump.

RE: What's The Stance on "Foul Language"?
@Nekrage What you can actually expect from a player whose character is named Caligula... Anyhow, lets hope that at least most of the inappropriate messages can be eradicated, perhaps auto-censoring system can offer some assistance.

RE: GO F2P LEARN FROM OTHER
@AcOrP I was also one of those players who quit very soon after the launch. The performance issues from DDOS and in general made too often the playing unpleasant experience. Gold seller owning the city plots and other bullshit pushed people out.
@AcOrP said in GO F2P LEARN FROM OTHER:
B2P with premium subscription and when the population get too low go F2P is the current safest standard. If you go F2P from the start and you lose that population you have no move to get fresh population into your game.
This is how I see it as well. I have to give credit to SBI that they handled this transition very well, at least if we measure the result with current popularity of the game.

RE: First Play Reactions (a note to the devs)
@Listatta It is always nice when people makes so comprehensive feedback like this. It also includes very good points with constructive critisism. I would say to that 'point to click' part, have you tried to move holding down the mouse left button? I play these 'point to click' games 98% of the time that way (if it is possible). It makes the moving much more smoother and keeps you better ongoing.

RE: GO F2P LEARN FROM OTHER
@guduffra20 Yes I understand that, I just got confused because the reference to currency and its value, because that is not a guaranty of low level salaries, depending of the country we are speaking of course. If we think of all the countries which uses euros (€), the average salaries in different countries varies a lot so they are in unequal position from the start. Moreover, yes it is reasonable to take account different local markets and offer discounts if that is possible.

Perhaps they should do something with the combat then...
... You mean like finish the game, because it's in alpha?
I mean that the combat is clunky, abilities unresponsive, and the general feel is quite unenjoyable.
In general, combat is a very crucial part of MMOs and if the combat is bad it does not matter how good are the other aspects of the game, it will fail. We could say that Fractured is just at Aplha stage so no worries, however, it is not self-evidence that developers gets the combat fixed, it will need work. Moreover, it is not rare either that released games have underwhelming combat systems even the developers have tried to do their best.

The game design seems to be leaning towards being 95% combat, with everything else as a side project.
Perhaps they should do something with the combat then...
It is true that at least at the moment the professions are kind of left aside and I really hope those will get much more attention during development. Sandbox MMORPGs are at best when they can offer players true specialization also outside of the combat centric activities.
@Nightmarestang said in How in depth is the crafting going to be as far as supplying players with things can it be a proper business?:
One of my favorite things about Darkfall was that you could be a pure crafter and specialize in specific areas for you guild. I'd love to see that here. Ever since SWG, I've always wanted another MMO where you can focus on crafting only and not have it be a side thing
That would be really cool and welcome possibility.

RE: GO F2P LEARN FROM OTHER
@FibS Sure but the currency is not always the best where to compare because if we think only the Euro countries the average salaries varies a lot. In addition, a low value of currency is not a guaranty of low level salaries either like e.g. in Sweden or Norway. Therefore, from sales & marketing point of view it is better compare countries and their average salaries between each other rather than just the currencies.

RE: How in depth is the crafting going to be as far as supplying players with things can it be a proper business?
@Gothix With epic crafter I bet he meant a dedicated crafter who can craft the top items regardless is there any skill involded and how much there is grind or RNG included. And yes crafting can also contain skill or at least know-how, e.g. which is the most effective way to craft or what are the products where you should focus on. If everyone can easily be the top crafters then there is something really wrong with the implemented system.
Even in Albion where the crafting is quite simple and straight forward the dedicated crafters distinguish from the everyday crafters in many ways. Which products you should craft, when to use focus, what tier buff food you should use, where you should refine resources and craft specific items to save money and materials, transporting resources and items between cities and selling right stuff in right local markets. Also you need to buy resources and materials with right prices so you can make profit. Therefore, crafting can be complex system as well, a skill which needs knowledge, experience, calculations, background work, effectiveness, making notes etc. Of course the crafting skill is different when compared e.g. for combat but it does not make it less valueable expertise.
If we are going to see so simple crafting system in Fractured that everyone can easily be masters, then I would say the developers have failed to deliver good enough crafting system.

Yes, but I was wondering what is the problem there? How on earth it is possible that someone needs to pay 5 times more from a game than others? I did not understand the point. Or is there so biased payment system in use that someone needs to pay basically 250$ of a 50$ game because of different currency.
Minimum wage in Ukraine is ~150€. Minimum wage in France is ~1500€. If you want to open your market to countries like Ukraine or Russia you can't sell the product at the same price you'd do in France.
Okay so we were speaking of avarage salaries and not actually the value of currency. Okay that confused me.

If you buy that game with dollars from Amazon or Steam and you use a credit card for example, you will pay the same price as any one else regardless what is value of your country's currency.
Steam has regional prices set by the developers. For example, here's a list of regional prices for New World and The Witcher 3.

yea, I'd like to see if crafting skills allow for a specialization in economic roles. same with farming, too. I know they have talked about permanent enchantments for gear.
My cornern is that the focus will be too much in enchanting and the crafting part is left quite narrow.

RE: New MMO
Been waiting for a new mmo to come out for some time now and this one looks promising!
And you still need to wait... The release will be perhaps in 2022. It was set to 2021 Q3 but at the moment the development is ABOUT half year behind the original schedule.
