    • RE: GO F2P LEARN FROM OTHER

@AcOrP I was also one of those players who quit very soon after the launch. The performance issues from DDOS and in general made too often the playing unpleasant experience. Gold seller owning the city plots and other bullshit pushed people out.

@AcOrP said in GO F2P LEARN FROM OTHER:

B2P with premium subscription and when the population get too low go F2P is the current safest standard. If you go F2P from the start and you lose that population you have no move to get fresh population into your game.

This is how I see it as well. I have to give credit to SBI that they handled this transition very well, at least if we measure the result with current popularity of the game.

More like incivil, perhaps you should start from here to catch up a little bit.

    • RE: Why we need attribute respec options.

Attribute reroll possibility is simply a must, from new player point of view but also if there will be notable balance changes between "classes" and roles, and in addition if players just want to try something else out, perhaps test out new abilities they have unlocked. The reroll system can be somewhat limited but not too restrictive.

    • RE: Is this a new hyped up Albion or games that fall in that territory?

@Jetah Not a clone but it is easy to argue that Albion has most similarities with Fractured than any other game which is why so many compares these two with each other.

      Fractured is effectively a MOBA.

Wait... what? I hate MOBAs. Guess I can uninstall now?

I was hoping for a fully fledged heavy MMORPG like UO and I hate nothing more in this world than MOBAs...

The combat is MOBA -styled but the game is still MMORPG, so relax. 😉

I would say that no-one is comparing Albion and Fractured between each other because of the isometric view, it is more about the genre and mechanics. Moreover, it is interesting that those who have actually played Albion have seen and understands the similarities and those who have none or less experience do not, coincidence? 😂

It is also possible highlight characters, animals and mobs when they are behind trees or make the flora slightly transparent when someone is moving behind them.

@Nekrage said in [POLL] Guild tag beginning or end of the name?:

      @Tuoni I don't understand what I am looking at.

The entire guild name is showing?

Yes, the guild's name is Immortals and the alliance tag is RO. (*)

      EDIT: (*) or KO

@Szai said in [POLL] Guild tag beginning or end of the name?:

I agree with the under like most mmos IF there isnt the militia name, some games have 3 or 4 layers of name, guild, title, other. that is a mess. Front is better than End, Bottom full name is best

It is true that having a lot of information can be a mess especially in situation where several players are on the screen at the same time. However, if players can adjust the amount of information what they want on their screen from the settings then this is not a problem at all.

@Prometheus said in [POLL] Guild tag beginning or end of the name?:

We'll likely move the guild name (full name) it under the character name, yes 🙂 We'll see what to do with the Militia. Perhaps just an icon next to the name if possible.

This is good idea. Militias are tie to cities right, therefore, IF every city will have its own original banner from where it is identifiable on the spot, perhaps this same banner can be shown on the map next to the city as well but in addition in these militia icons (which can be e.g. shields). That way people can easily link a militia icon to a specific city when they see one.

    • RE: Why bake bread?

@Razvan said in Why bake bread?:

      @Tuoni
In Albion different crafting stations want different food (they get bonus nutrition). Maybe Fractured devs want to make something similar?

Yeah it is true that something similar would be nice, however, perhaps that system could be develope somehow further. 🤔

It is okay that some food offer bonus nutritions but perhaps specific foods could buff the NPCs as well. If e.g. a blacksmith favors meat stew that could give on top of the nutrition also a temporary buff so players gets bonuses (+x%) when they craft armors or weapons for example. These bonuses can be resource return rates or a better chance to get higher quality items or something like that.

Even we do not have much protective or healing spells in use at the moment, I am sure those will be added when group content is coming more into the game.

    • RE: How will you be making your $$$?

Crafting, trading and playing with the market are the typical ways I make money in MMORPGs. Moreover, looting other players, especially if there will be some kind of bounty hunter system, then definitely that one too.

It would be cool to have frontline healers smashing enemies from melee range and healing nearby allies at the same time.

    • RE: Crafting from a wishful thinker

RNG does not automatically mean bad system and it really depends how the system is implemented. If a crafter have 10% change to craft a good quality item it might sound gambling in individual situations, however, if we examine that with larger sampling and we take account probability calculations, then the RNG will have less impact for the result. For example from 100 crafted items you get averagely 10 good quality items and the margin of error is just few percentages. When the sampling is getting even higher the margin will have less and less impact.

    • RE: Support/Healer type builds

@GorTavaro I played in Albion a support build which mixed buffing, debuffing and damage dealing. I played with a Demonic staff which could affect DoTs for pressure damage, armor pierce to cause armor reduction or create AoE healing debuff on certain area. I also run with leather armor so I could play more closer frontline, however, I sacrificed some damage this way. If I wanted to go full support I could even choose Druid cowl's AoE energy replenish and knight boots for protective shield to help my team mates. However, most of the times I chose other cowls or boots for self-sustain or extra damage and my focus was in the debuffing. Something similar I could also play in Fractured, at least with one character.

    • RE: How do you think the Economy will actually function?

I hope there will be local constructible and upgradeable marketplaces in towns and therefore local economies as well. I am quite confident that resources and consumables sales quite well. I am a little bit concerned about how the crafted items will sell, especially because the flat tier system and everyone can craft almost everything mentality. Moreover, enchanting might cause too much variations to gear pieces which just do not sell.
