I don't like the idea of spells being restricted to armor / weapon choices.
I would keep that with minimum too. However, I understand if some weapons have unique abilities and spells, maybe related to weapon categories.
One class of weapon where I noticed this is "Assassin Weapon" on most Assassination abilities that get restricted to Dagger and Handaxe.
Yeah, there were a lot of assassin weapon only abilities, but only few or none for others. For club there was one stun ability for example.
Was that handaxe really an assassin weapon too, like dagger..?
I did not notice that.
Yeah, I found handaxe kind of odd for an assassin weapon, but the Strike skills all had Dagger and Handaxe as required weapons and their descriptions had:
Your next strike with an Assassin Weapon is a guaranteed hit that deals increased damage.

I can see devs implementing "small cooldown" on weapon switching, so players could just use keybinding to switch weapon all the time and cast everything in succession and hit the target as well.
Realistically, having certain spells "require certain weapon equipped" makes no sense if weapons can be switches in combat and without a CD.
Well most of the higher tier spells seem to have a cooldown, which I imagine is universal... so even if they swap weapons without cooldown they won't be able to cast everything quick.
I just wondered if there is a reason for unarmed, say that hand gestures are required and one handed applies to focusing items. it makes sense since the shout based spells dont have weapon requirements... you say them and thus can have a two handed sword and not have to worry. however skills that require you to focus and aim you need either your hand or a 1handed weapon to point and "shoot
Unarmed could also be to eventually accommodate the martial arts school of fighting.

RE: How is everyone liking the game?
It's still early in alpha, but I like how it's shaping up - it's definitely come a long way since pre-alpha. Had quite a few additions this last test, some bugs obviously, but I didn't find anything too annoying so far like killing stuff, gathering, or building.

Lack of communication. We didn't get any contact pills or update what's going on since alpha test 2. I personally think it's a big nono since everyone is afraid of Kickstarter game to fail or disappear. Please even update saying u guys are going to vacation or anything to keep ppl knowing what's going on. When ppl don't know wat's going on, ppl just not going to put more money in it.
Since @Znirf joined, I've been seeing these about every 2 weeks except when Alpha1 T2 was running, but one did come out right about 2 weeks after the test ended. We'll see if it continues but it's been more often.

RE: Opinion on Monsters after the alpha
All of the newer monsters don't have loot tables yet and there's no knowledge system so the only point currently is for resources - hides, meats, fat, etc.
On the PvE side, I really hope they do end up implementing regional/world bosses - always loved those kinds of open world encounters.

we dont know, but i doubt it'll be easy. I just hope it requires to do everything in the game!
I hope it's insanely difficult to become an Angel, Abomination, or Lich and that it gets play tested during Beta since rarely do devs anticipate what players will do.
testing could make it easy. talk to npc, get the new thing. beta could have a few parts of the quest chain to make sure things work well. then for live the whole chain could be add in. if DS wanted to they could add in parts each week/month thus time gating it.
but i really would like to see it be a all-the-things type quest chain. get all the knowledge. do all the professions (that we can do). do pvp. do pve. do invasions. do defense of said invasions. do city sieges. etc. make sure the person is well rounded and has done it all.
I like the idea of gating it a bit by releasing it in pieces. Also like the idea of having to have done a lot of the game before being able to become a lich, angel, or abomination.

RE: Races and playstyles

@Yitra First of all, I was rereading my previous comment and I feel I might've come off as a little too combative, my apologies.
For the most part I agree with you. I do think certain limitations are absolutely fine. But if I look at it from my gameplay perspective - I enjoy full loot PvP. However, the funny side note on that is that I'm absolutely terrible at it and actually prefer to be a crafter and play the economy with the occassional PvP trip with friends.
However, if one world has no (or very limited) PvP which can trade with full loot PvP - how does this balance out? From an economical standpoint it's much better to play on a 'safe' world if where resources are 'easier' to obtain. The balancing act on this seems precarious. If you balance it around more dangerous worlds having better resources (risk vs reward) then effectively you create a tiered resource system where the playerbase who does not want to interact with such a zone will feel obligated to do so anyway (or trade for it, but pay a premium). But if those resources can also be obtained safely there is no reason to take risk, invalidating the playstyle of players who do want to play in a risky environment.
It balances out because traveling between worlds via Stargates is supposed to be difficult and takes a group effort; however Demons could do so via an eclipse so have more opportunities to travel to Syndesia and bring stuff back and forth. This means the Human world will likely become the main trading post between the 3 races.
Furthermore, it might force people who want to play optimally into creating alts purely for the sake being able to fully enjoy every aspect of the game.
This is going to happen no matter how the game is structured. Anyone who wants to play optimally will always take every advantage possible.

I wonder if people will be able to steal someones leather, while its being cured. Being marked as thief in the process ofc.
Hopefully so. As with all things, there's a balance to be found, but thieving should be an option.
Last I saw, items on your property can't be destroyed to stolen.
Period or just when you’re offline?
Had to go find the post from Prometheus (last half of the post) - https://forum.fracturedmmo.com/topic/5477/feature-spotlight-7-towns-governors-politics/18?page=1
As far as I know since that post nothing has changed and he didn't mention any caveats so it seems "not at all".
