RE: Joining a Siege without being required to join the Guild.
@target said in Joining a Siege without being required to join the Guild.:
Instead of sub guilds maybe there can just be a contract system that allows mercenary recruitment of individuals/guilds or temporary alliances. It's more sandboxy and opens up potential political conflict if contracts get broken.
sub guild was the only word i could think of that meant what I was thinking. I was thinking of a way to under the banner of said guild but not needing to actually join said guild. I was thinking it could be open to anyone, solo player up to alliances. It would allow a solo player the opportunity to experience the content without being bound to a guild. It could give an opportunity for the guild to recruit a solo player too. It give opportunity for alliances to be formed if members of a guild help another guild.
I know some people just love their small guilds but still want to experience content that requires more people. This would give that option.
It allows the mercenary to stay true neutral without being forced to join a guild to help.

(...)we have 400 base(...)
No, you don't. If you look at the description of these spells, they are what you define as 'crafted spells' in this thread. You'd be hard pressed to have 400 different base elements for spell crafting. If you could name more than 50, I'd be impressed.
@Jetah said in Spell crafting:
(...)e're saying if we could craft spells then that 400*3 could be infinite.
It can never be infinite, but that's not the point I was trying to argue. Yes, you would have more spell combinations, but you would have less progress points to unlock them.
the game will have 400 abilities as posted in the KS and in the news. Even IF it was 50 and we could craft our own it'd be great. Those 50 would be harder to obtain thus making the crafting system more valuable.
why would spell crafting use progress points? once you unlock the spells and ranks you can use them to make unique spells.
@Gofrit
we're brainstorming and fantasising here. not to mention we can't craft them now but we maybe can in the future! -
RE: Volunteer GM Program
@Arterius
that's more of a veteran or mentor system. Game Master (GM) is a position inside the company usually able to make adjustments to game items, quest, or sometimes account issues.@Tuoni
for WoW it was a voted volunteer position. It was setup so that the community could chat with the class rep then that rep bring the biggest concerns to the developers. -

@apolleon if they plan to put bounties there should be managed by a ruleset to avoid people placing bouintys on people for no reason.
not liking someone is a good reason.

RE: Access to Schools of Magic to different races
@SlaserX
all knowledge is accessible to all races. -
RE: Suggestion; Sellsword/Hiring Board System
Bounties donโt need a reason. Sometimes itโs to send a message. Sometimes itโs to make a point. Sometimes you have cash to spare and that person bumped into you at the coffee shop.
There doesnโt need to be a malace reason to put a bounty on a character. As a Demon all humans and beast are my enemy. That is enough reason.

RE: Optional wasd movement?

@Jetah said in Optional wasd movement?:
When moving is with mouse, it leaves easier access to use abilities from keyboard. For example Q, W, E, R, T, Y, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Trying to use abilities with WASD is harder.
false. otherwise wow wouldn't have done it. WoW has 12 keybinds "1 through =", plus any additional you need, and uses WASD to move, plus moving the camera with the mouse. There's also modifiers with shift, alt, control so those 12 can be 84! while still using WASD to move and holding the rmb to move the camera!
False? If you use mouse to move with your right hand then you have your left hand totally free for abilities on keyboard.
@Prometheus (this is feedback on the current click-to-move too) and i've clicked on trees needing to move while being chased by a bear. only to attempt to harvest then die by said bear. you forget this game will have interaction with the environment, rocks, branches, flowers, ore, etc. anyone of those can stop your character and end in death. WASD would completely prevent it. Even with WASD your hand is still able to reach all the actions you'll need for Fractured, which is much less than WoW. I'm sure people will bind Shift to at least 1 ability and 1-x for the rest. The reason MOBA can keep click-to-move is because the environment isn't interactable at all or much less than in a MMO.
Yes, in WoW you have more directions because moving camera is supporting WASD, but in Fractured moving is not like in WoW. You do not have that chance to turn camera and because of that you can only go 8 directions. Still waiting example of isometric game where you can have more directions in use with WASD.
8 or 16 or 32 don't matter. i'm not sure why you're so caught up on it. for long duration travel using a key will be more comfortable than holding the mouse button.
@Jetah said in Optional wasd movement?:
@Tuoni said in Optional wasd movement?:
What valueable WASD moving systems brings on table what current click to move can not already handle?
controllers can be setup to play the game where disabled individuals would have access. if the game was on console one stick would be movement, it'd be no different in this situation.
I do not know what you mean by this, but the game is not designed for consoles.
point was (hince the IF part) the movement would be similar to a console. direction with WASD is no different than direction with a stick/d-pad.

@kellewic
if recipes are generic with items then it could be any meat and the quality of that meat could determine any bonuses (if any). This way we don't have 10 different versions of stew. -
RE: An option to NOT choose a deity?
I can see Babilis being pissed you didnโt follow them and would randomly curse you!
-
RE: Bounties and how they should work (long running discussion)
But people don't listen to the cryers in towns. They're usually shunned or ignored completely.

RE: Racial languages
Being that Fractured wouldn't have NPC quest, how would language learning happen? Assuming the planets had their own language.
I could see books, pages, tablets scattered around the worlds as relics of the pre-fracture. maybe the dungeon delve could have certain levels with random NPC that could teach it, or other professions, or knowledge.

RE: PLayer-Made quests/dungeons
so uh Neverwinter had this and people would build npc boxes. they'd make the walls tall and put in high hp mobs and people would just slaughtered them for xp. swap xp for knowledge and it's the same system.
the Neverwinter system was designed so players could create content and allow other players to enjoy that content. the mobs would scale with your level so it could be done at any level range.
Option 1. copy Neverwinter and let users vote and devs remove the really bad ones.
Option 2. Let a volunteer group of players approve the designs. ultimate authority is with DS.
Option 3. don't put it in.I'll say that some of the player made quest were awesome and some were bad.

Thanks! I thought I had read everything but spotlight 5 I missed somewhere along the way. That one has the info I was looking for

@sharo said in Guild housing and relations:
@loxreaten yeah but in open world other players can join and come in, I mean a private area for guild members only (maybe the gates could have guard npcs who you can hire to keep peeps out)
i could see the guild hall having an area instanced from the rest of the town. there's needs to be some place to erp.

RE: Stall/Vending
yep. and there's a reason we love all in one stores. i'd hate to have to drive to 15 stores to get groceries for a week or two.

RE: Additional Systems Re-post
@gothix
hard to kidnap someone when chat still functions.remove their ability to communicate within the game, only allow a local /say or if they are gagged then remove that!

RE: Market
DS wants Fractured to have individual stalls for items being sold. so if you need a chest armor, you'd have to look through them all or wade through trade spam to find the 1 place that has it. or you'll see 1 in 15 different stalls and you'll have to remember which one had the best one for your build.
it's going to be a nightmare and 3rd party sites will exist for more efficiency. Instead of depending on 3rd party sites, it should just be in game.
@Prometheus
ok new idea. there's individual stalls but there's a board we can search through to find the item we want. we still have to find the shop to buy it. -
RE: Body building
how about your abilities used determine how your body looks?
you start with magic, so you're probably thin, you decide to use a 1h sword so your body starts to shape up and become defined. you continue to use that sword but also use a 2h so you become stronger.
