@finland said in PK punishment:
@gothix so there is no point to say that a game is for both sides right?
Well, you are the one sending people off to other games, not me.
@finland said in PK punishment:
@gothix if are players that may ruin the game why not ;). The point do we want a dead game with 1k players around or do we want a game with lots of players around. I suppose that there will be lots of PvP action, I just ate PKing activities.
I think it's time for you to accept that PK and full loot is in the core mechanics of the game. ^^
I don't know what else to say to you at this point.
@finland said in PK punishment:
People comeing here hoping for pking but I wonder why don0t go on Albion XD
I don't think devs would like very much that you are sending people off to other games.
The only issue is that knowledge takes a long time to get.
But I'd assume that in Alpha / Beta there will be a way to gain knowledge "faster", to be able to test everything.

bubbles around the area. about all i can think of. i know archeage had limited numbers for sieges but i don't remember how it was done.
Yeah, iirc in ArcheAge zones around the castle turned to siege area, and I forgot what exactly happened when people not assigned to siege tried to enter. They either died, or got ported out.
However, in Archeage that was OK, cause siege was GvG, and guilds chose people that would join the siege, so noone else had nothing to look for there.
In case of open world siege, that allows multiple guilds to attack, who would have the right to select who can join in and who can't? (this is the issue)
First come first served doesn't seem right, cause if you are unfortunate and multiple randoms fill the spots first, then your guild members can't enter, and what if your guild is the main factor in defending a city? (they control it)
Adding extra rules so that first "controlling" guilds enter, then if there is room it allows more people in, could get complicated and still pose issues, what if some people disconnect... are then new people allowed to take their place? What if people return after being disconnected, and their controlling guild misses them, but now there is no place for them to join back into?
Multiple issues to consider here if siege spots will be limited.

Considering a number of things like; a) the top down perspective with no heavy graphics, b) Unity, c) SpatialOS, I'd say that they will manage 100-300 tops.
It could be "the last man standing" combat style, so it would get better as it approaches the end.
(which might very well be, due to full loot system, and people loosing their shit when they die)
Boobs, legendary boobs.
We need good sliders in character creation screen.

I played today and it’s broke. Please fix.
How is that good feedback?
Cause at least they know it's broke then!
@Jetah I don't think peoples feedback will depend on how much they payed for access.
Particular person will provide feedback as he otherwise would, regardless of the package price. Someone who will provide good feedback will always provide good feedback, and vice versa.
Also, people who can afford pricier packages do not necessarily provide better feedback (or vice versa), this just does not depend on cash. This depends on how involved player is, and what kind of mindset he has.
Hello! I am not a member of one of those nations that you originally requested translations for, however, I would still like to provide translations to my own countries language (Croatian) and leave them here because... well you never know if you are going to want them at some point in time.
Tbh, you could also name this section Balkanski Forum (Balkan Forum) as several nearby European countries understand this language and use 90% similar language. Balkan European region holds quite a bulk of players.
So here goes, for Balkanski Forum:

I hope dungeons aren't just giant landfills loaded with garbage mobs. I've yet to see a game actually have intricate dungeons that require thought, teamwork, and expertise. It's always the same stuff: walk in, faceroll mobs, walk out.
Original "The Secret World".
It's a real shame Funcom ruined it and went for cash grab, completely nerfed model, with Legends expansion.

@finland well then you have all asian mmorpgs at your disposal. they all have seperate zones for pvp and/or retarded karma system. so don't complain.
I was following Ashes of Creation so far with great interest, but recently I gave up on it. Then I came and joined to here.
AoC had great promise, but then they confirmed rock paper scissor system, that basically ruins all 1vs1 and small group PvP everywhere, and completely rekts 1vs1 arena.
Also they have this retarded PvP punishment system, where if you are killing players that do not wish to fight back, you are LOSING your stats, until you become a 2 shot target, also your gear has a chance to break.
Devs at intrepid studios actually have face to call that PvX, and actually think PvPers will come and play that crap.
Needless to say, I logged off from there and never came back, and will not. Right now I am hoping Fractured will be good for PvP crowd.
Sadly most MMOs i followed over past time got ruined by devs catering to sensitive folk.
@finland said in PK punishment:
@gothix I edited the post up there. Anyway if people will stop arguing about "carebears" I will stop arguing about "pkers". My sword is ready every time someone summons a "carebear"
It's what I'm saying, not everyone of them lacks the skills to fight, just prefers not too. The same way not every ganker lacks the skills to engage in skilled PvP (or PvE for that matter), it's just that he goes by principle "red is dead" and considers everyone a target to kill, regardless if it's a gank, a fair fight, or even an opponent stronger than himself.
The difference is that sensitive players tend to join in to PvP MMO under development and ask for that MMO to change so very often, requesting mechanics to allow them to opt out of PvP if they wish so. Constantly writing threads about PK punishments and PvP opt out availability.
Meanwhile, PvPers do not join forums of PvE MMOs under development and ask them to add PvP. If PvE MMO is being developed they simply do not join it (asking for changes), but rather just go join some PvP MMO being developed.
THAT is the difference.
And then after skipping PvE MMOs being developed they join in to PvP MMOs being developed and find bunch of threads of those players asking for those MMOs to turn to PvE as well. THAT is why they have issue with them.
Sensitive players aren't satisfied of half MMOs being PvE, they want ALL MMOs to be PvE, so they can pick and chose, and they do not care about PvPers having something to play too.
(i hope you better understand now the difference)
I think Humans are the only constant since Beastmen lose abilities off world as do Demons (except during eclipses where they don't get debuffed).
My opinion is long-term I think more people will choose (or switch to) Humans. They get the most stuff and overall have the easiest time due to the freedom they enjoy.
Yeah this is why I also consider human. More attributes to chose, and human tech kinda offsets those demon buffs anyway. Also humans get to fight for control of human world, where the mix of good and evil guilds will be most intense, so sieging and GvG will actually make more sense then on demon world (where everyone is evil) or beastmen world (where everyone is good).
Also human world will have most traffic, as this world is most accessible for all 3 races, so there will be most players roaming around those parts, and it's kinda fun to be able to control zones in which you can set the rules after (you have a feeling you are making an actual impact on the world).
Also as noted, most player density on that world, means most PvP available at more constant intervals.
@finland said in PK punishment:
@gothix Is the same as using the term Carebears
Not really, calling someone like that does not insinuate they have no skills, just that they prefer not to use those skills to fight other players, and that they are usually requesting game mechanics to protect them from PvP (which is quite correct).
Now if you would go and say "hey you, you suck" and add other attributes to describe this player, that would be insulting.
@finland said in PK punishment:
@gothix Insults? I have not insulted people. I'm just trying to show the difference between PvP and Pking.
Well basically calling other players (for whom you have no idea about) skill-less, and just pkers that attack weaker targets, saying they are not able to pose any real competition at skill based combat.
Yeah, I'm in this for the "long term", so I'm not really interested to just quickly try out all the content.
This is why I want to know all the details before choosing what race is best for me, because when I create it, I'm sticking with it.
Also I prefer something more constant, rather then short time buffs, available only during some events. This can be nice, but I find constant things more to my liking.
@finland said in PK punishment:
If you like we can go play some MOBA or FPS. This way the carebear can show you how to PvP (oh.. no way to pking there not games for ya prolly so you are not PvPers but just PKers).
Yeah insulting other players, insinuating they have no skills, and saying "skill based games are not for them" certainly shows you in good light. It shows your righteousness and spotless character, lol.
