How will be decided which group takes a farming spot on Arboreus (animal planet)?

@Yitra
that sounds good on paper until you have 50 guildies that need gear so you all/some head out to a spot to get materials.Yeah, that why I am playing PvE so I don't have to waste my playtime on replacing my gear all the time and fighting of morons who's only pleasure in life is beating other players most likely below their level/gear etc
-
@Yitra I expect the pve areas to be overpopulated for this reason. It has been my experience that most the pks do indeed search for easy prey. They speak about the fun of fighting other players when in fact what they really mean is the fun in beating down kills that have little chance of fighting back. I've seen many a new player spawn with pks trolling. They aren't there for the loot just to get some easy kills for the sheer fun of bullying weaker players. I detest this playstyle. To me the form of pvp that should be emulated in a game is organized pvp or specified pvp zones where everyone is actually there to fight other players.

Real Life and Work gives me enough adrenaline and "killing" to settle for an easy life in my spare free time

I think humans will be most balanced race in this aspect. Just chose to roam through ZOI that's controlled by good guild.
There will be some PvP, but you will have protection of guards, and of players around you (good guild ruling the zone) against attackers. It will not be PvE paradise, but it will also not be a murder box.
-
I think on arberous there should be enough resources to go somewhere else but if there really is trolling maybe you ca initiate a duel or something maybe call an moderator
-
@dj35 I hope mods dont deal with in game politics even if its bad language, players should police these things imo
As long as its not DOXing or anything illegal.
I think guilds /civilization should be able to bounty drag a player in to jail.
Leaving them in a player driven time out if needed .
pk and steal the guys loot business or livelihood if they piss off enough people so onas soon as devs start dealing with trolls instead of putting the tools in the players hands to fix the problems, it can snowball, and snowflake the server (never a good thing in a PVX game) because player generated hate towards each other creates great wars and Intense rivals especially if players can punish each other withing the game mechanics

the game developers shouldn't interject on these matters unless there are threats.

Yep, GMs should only react if:
- hacking / exploiting = player ban (no mercy)
- botting = player ban (no mercy)
- gold seller messages = player ban (no mercy)
- extensive normal player (non whisper) public spam = player muted for certain period (this can be progressive for repeated offenses)

i was thinking more personal threats but yeah that too.

I think personal threats are fine too unless doxx related
People will say they are gonna kill each other so on, on the regular
Cant get a gm involved everytime a player chimps out because you stole their boss
If someone is going ott in the abuse block em and move on or use the in game systems to pk/punish them
Gms are not babysitters
Unless a player is actively endangering another person.
Or is cheating botting hacking then all is fair in love and war
-
the game shouldn't encourage personal threats. no other game i know lets them slide.
stating that someone will do physical harm to your family isn't allowable under most TOS. the great companies will actually press charges or pass the threat over to the police and let them handle it.

What kind of games did you play? Psychopath XI, the road to insanity?

Seriously? I haven't been in PvP related games, but if this is the "standard" now. Those kids need a
nosebrain job or get out more often.

Usually what MMOs do is following:
- do not react to initial whisper content, because you are able to ignore player if you don't like his messages
- if player is going around ignore mechanic (remaking new alts to re-whisper you), then GMs intervene and ban the player

Harassing a player with multiple alts ofc shld be upgraded to a gm.
My point isn't that it's ok to be that way, by fine I mean should not be delt with by gms
Because dealing with player arguments adds a massive work load.
If you choose not to block someone then the problem is at you end.
If you block them and they make alts to keep harassing you, then you can raise it to gms.
Just my opinion I dunno what the rules will be like

It's been my experience in most mmos that is someone uses vulgar or hate speech those are bannable. Vulgar usually gets a warning and hate speech is usually auto. It's not hard for a gm to pull speech logs either.

only exception, and it's a fine line to walk, is on RP servers. a messed up word can be the different between ban or not.

Seriously? I haven't been in PvP related games, but if this is the "standard" now. Those kids need anosebrain job or get out more often.I was ganking in Albion with some guildmates when this guy comes naked on a cheap horse (he needed to change his portal lock and had to walk to the portal to do so). We killed him and I got the kill. He then pm'ed me explaining what he wants to do, asked that we don't kill him again and offered to pay 10x the price of a cheap horse for passage. I replied that it's not about the money, but about spreading the message that we own that area or some bullshit like that. He kept trying to cross the zone and we killed him every time (which I agree that is a bit toxic). Anyway, the next days he kept pm'ing everyone in my party telling how he will find us and gut us like fishes and bullshit like that. At this point the game was still b2p and he only had 6 characters (so it was to deal with), but about 2 months later the game went f2p and somehow he remembered about us and for a while I got so many pms from different characters that I deactivated my whisper channel entirely.
Anyway, the point is that this kind of people exist. However, I think the real-life threats and in-game threats should be treated differently because in the latter case it's basically just stupid kids whose mouths talk without their brains but are harmless otherwise.Returning to the initial discussion, expecting GMs to do something about this situation is unreasonable. What we need is a way to dispute or secure farming spots.

so we should treat swatting lightly too? threats to the player should be taken seriously. I will report them all. if the player continues then i'll press further for some type of action to happen.
at no point should a threat be passed on.

Why should it be taken seriously?
Why cant you just block them and move on?
It's just words... they have as much meaning as you give themWhy let some pleb have so much power over you, actually feel threatened by these scrubs?
if you dont feel threatened then you are just abusing a system to try get someone who's actions you dont like banned.
Wich is a waste of gm time.
Deal with it in game.Block PK move on
Also not sure what calling the police in real life declareing a fake crime to scare a person has to do with abuse in a game
