what do you like to see next from the developers?
-
They should be back in a limited scope this week. Hope all is well and they had a chance to relax..... now its time to make a game!
-
Still a few days too early tho, its August 13th and they said the first 2 weeks, so the earliest probably Aug 15th

@jetah
A roadmap is something they need to do in order to develop anyways. Community content requires time and effort that detracts from development. It's crazy how much effort a single 10 minute video takes from a company. It's a lot different than turning on your recording to record PUBG gameplay moments.Don't get me wrong, I think community updates are important... but there are pros and cons.
Edit:
Hahaha, didn't realize how many pages there were here. Hopefully I don't cause too much confusion

@highlander
right now they need to multi-task. they need to develop, promote and engage with KS backers.
-
@jetah said in what do you like to see next from the developers?:
(...)promote(...)
I'd say focus on development before promotion at this point in time. It would be extremely helpful to retention rate to have more to showcase and there is only 'one first impression'.
-
@logain
You need both. Backers want to see progress. You don’t want the developers being quiet while they’re developing. Backers would be asking asking for updates.Bah, I missed the promotion.
Promotion brings in new backers which helps development. They’d still need both.
-
Promotion, by promoting your actual work.
Empty promotion just saying "game is great, it has this and that..." is meaningless. The best way to promote the game is to develop the content, and then showcase it to the players.
-
@Gothix
And you get the “omg the Devs haven’t make a single KS update since the campaign ended. They must have stole out money and ran... i knew they were going to do that.”

And you get the “omg the Devs haven’t make a single KS update since the campaign ended. They must have stole out money and ran... i knew they were going to do that.”It is possible for the devs to focus on development and provide updates to the community occasionally without actively promoting it to new players for more paying backers.

@blah64
but why wouldn't you want new cash coming in? the 100k from KS isn't enough for them. at 2 years till launch that's only 50k per year; minus KS fee's and taxes (if any for IT business. in america you're taxed on those backer rewards too).I'm sorry but you need new clients, those also tell their friends, and maintain development progress and updates to KS/CF (crowdfund) backers. You need all three.

Because:
Dynamight Studios is a financially stable company. Careful business planning, coupled with backing from the three founders and private investors, make us feel safe about the future of the project. Moreover, we already have open channels with a few large game publishers that have shown interest in Fractured.
If they were dependent upon crowdfunding to stay afloat, there is no way I would have supported the project with such a low goal.

You would want new cash, but at the same time, you want to avoid people seeing the project, thinking that's not flashed out, and heading on without dropping money. There are studies to that field and it's a lot more financially viable in the long term to give people a stunning first impression (if that is possible, and as far as we know, it is, since Dynamight Studios is financially stable).
That doesn't mean you wouldn't give updates to your existing community, which is entirely different from a promotion!

I personally would love to see the skill system in game, i think i get the knowledge system in general but would like to see it in practice, still hoping they add something unique to the immortal level pet etc, would love to know how pre orders are doing too as really want the character creation and creature taming SG's, as i really like to play druid/ranger kinda class, with a per and spells maybe a close up on some of the character models. it would be great to have some more way to earn points in the foundation system too. here's hoping for an update soon too.

gameplay, especially combat.
-
So, how about those vacation photos?
EDIT: we require proof that you didn't just stuck yourself in some basement and spend vacation on PC.
-
I'd like the devs to explore some of the weapon creation, what kind of components would be involved, would wood type help with your durability? Would there be different ways of creating items, to get different bonuses, or is it going to be simple?
-
I want to see more gameplay video with for example some PvP, and I also want to see more spells and their description/stats, why not a list of 100 spells to start theory crafting and balance adjustment before the pre-alpha.
-
hmm, shouldn't the shop be online soon ?
we haven't heard from the developer since they come back from their vacation, i wonder on what they are working now.
-
@grofire Seems like it should be, but they did also go to that conventions that...I think just finished? Still, they are being a tad slow.
-
At this point... something? Anything?
Been over a month with no news!
