Racial Diversity of Fractured Visualized
-
I was curious to see the diversity myself and figured you all would too, glad you enjoyed @eso
-
Really interesting and well done! Thank you!
-
haha thank you! @sunlion
-
@agracore Nice work, looks amazing. Maybe you can be friends with Prometheus. He loves metrics.
-
I would like to point out however that the forum does not allow mixed guilds, and for that reason, some players (myself included) have just created a default human guild to represent a mixed guild, and members may or may not in fact choose human when the game itself opens, though all have chosen human for the ability to join a guild on the forum together.
Also the number one guild, at its creation, was created solely for the purpose of allowing people to get their foundation points, beastman was arbitrarily chosen, by people in order to be able to join it. It has since been changed into a guild rather than staying like the "daily post" thread where it existed solely for points, but the metrics showing that many beastmen may be skewed somewhat due to both of the above.
I suspect demon is far more popular than it appears, and both beastman and human are less than these metrics are showing.

Haha awesome and I hope so! @specter
-
Very interesting input @greenfire I suspected that the races would at least be further off from one another than a 5% margin, so it will be cool to see if you're right!
-
@agracore I dont know man but your avatar+ those math calculations make me remember about Excalibur from Soul Eater
-
Would be nice as well if we could choose lich, angel or abomination too here
-
Fair enough haha I actually made my avatar and many other like it in that style for my friends on Discord, I do freelance graphic design on the side so it's just a fun thing to do @00
-
@greenfire I totally agree but at the moment it's kinda impossible to know, unless we did a poll on the subject
-
woa nice info!
and im happy its so nicely spread out
-
Thanks a bunch! @ufke
-
Well that's cool, good job!
-
Thank you @cinnao
-
I do not see such a clear advantage for any race with these numbers, 7% between the highest and the lowest does not determine much ingame, in fact, I was surprised with the balance. Very good.
-
Ya I totally agree @blackjacksjc
-
Data Analyst myself well done
Probably you'll be able to have data now with less hour of work if you ask @Specter and @Prometheus beforeDidn't know Sankey, you could look at http://app.rawgraphs.io
^^
-
Haha thanks and I'll check it out! @gofrit

I don't mean to disrespect your efforts, but there are a few issues with using the Foundation for metrics, some noted and others not:
- (as noted by OP) The Foundation hero data changes rapidly. The statistics may even be significantly changing in the process of attempting to record them.
- (as noted by OP) Not all users have used the Foundation hero creator to begin with.
- (as noted by @Greenfire ) Players who are setting up alignment / mixed-race guilds all have to choose the same race so that the antiquated Foundation system will let them join the same guild. There is no plausible way to determine which characters are "legitimate" and which race was intended for those that aren't.
- Some users may have experimented curiously with random options on the hero creator and then left whatever was there as-is.
- Some users may have left the community already, leaving their now-irrelevant characters in the database.
- Some users may have created alternate accounts with similar characters to their legitimate base account. I would presume that this would be more common with Demon players, as they will generally be more traditionally competitive and therefore be more likely to "plan" alt accounts, even if they're not used as sock puppet Foundation referrals.
- The Foundation does not currently support Abomination or Angel displays; we can't accurately presume which race a given user wishing to main one of these chose in their stead as either may be stood in for by a Beastman or Demon.
All the same, if deer are really the rarest choice, then I'm all to happy to be precious and special!
