In-game guild ranking.
-
@lehuan5062 and I had a private discussion on Discord about guilds and @lehuan5062 was wondering if there will be some kind of guild ranking in-game. (I am not talking about the upcoming guild profiles ranking.)
-
@vengu thank you
-
@Vengu @lehuan5062 of course! There will be a ranking by total members, towns controlled, sieges and staged battles won, asteroids conquered - and more! I'm quite fond of metrics

"towns controlled", does that mean a guild can run more than 1 city?

It should be. Now I have a goal for my guild. I love POWER.
-
@prometheus "total members" really? Does that mean guild has a huge cap size (otherwise this would be pretty pointless right?).

Yes, it means that

When you create a guild, the cap is quite low, but it can be raised if the guild controls a town (or more than one) and certain buildings are present within the town. In theory, there is no limit to how high the cap can go - in reality, there is, since increasing it gets harder the higher it already is. This makes "total members" a good indicator of the guild's power, not only of how much of a zerg they are
-
@prometheus ah darn, I hate guilds already. People tend to just flood into a guild (cause you know everyone and their "ez life") making a game with zerg army annoying. Sigh, lets hope zergfest pvp isn't a thing.
-
@prometheus seems interesting

That depends on how 'other rewards/benefits' scale depending on the size of the guild.
-
@logain No it doesn't because as they mentioned there will be pvp, so regardless of their "guild related" content, there will be zergs and don't tell me you can't group up to kill poor little plebs with a full gear no brain no skill zerg.
-
@chrightt we can't tell the players how to play - large groups are inevitable. What we can and will do is discouraging "zergs" - for instance, by:
- Making combat favor skill and coordination to allow small team to prevail over zergs;
- Making expanding guilds too much cumbersome, leading to the formation of "zerg alliances" rather than "zerg guilds". Why that's better? Because an alliance is far most likely to break up than a guild.

Plenty of PvP players are 'min maxers', since that's a crucial element for success in PvP battles. If the PvP relevant bonus/benefits granted through guilds diminish with the number of players, there's a high incentive to stay with a tight, small group of people.
