there should be a 4th class
-
man, beast, and demon seems pretty slim
-
Those are Races not classes.
-
Three races is a good start, for a game. Don't forget that each race have sub-races ^^ (except humans). Maybe they'll add it later, but they must polish the game first. And if they want to create an another planet or sommething like that for a new race, it will take a moment.
-
there's 8 races total though (not counting female human).
-
I would like to see a machine-like race, maybe an artificial one, even more neutral than humans perhaps.

But they have to be pure evil though..

Reptilians :3
-
@vezin Agree !!
-
Races: Machinery, Ent's, Elementals, The Undead (If they were an actual race and not just necromancer shenanigans), Titans, Giants, Reptillians (Aren't they just beastmen?), Merpeople, etc.
Subraces: Too many to count.
-
Extra races and other things like that is just nice fluff to have. Let the devs focus on the really important stuff first, like netcode with good synchronization and FPS optimization. After that, they need to implement core gameplay mechanics and make sure they work, like PvP mechanics, the knowledge system, are skills fun to use & balanced, does player collision work etc. Once all of the above is also fine, they can focus on polishing graphics and adding new races to attract new players. But if the game has a bad foundation, (i.e bad netcode), it really doesn't matter what the rest is like.
And if the devs do have extra time and aren't delayed in any way (which would really be a miracle), then I personally would like more Demon sub-classes. Particularly a dedicated anti zerg class that gets more powerful the more enemies are clustered on one spot (although it could be very possible that the blood vampire is already this class, we don't know yet!).
-
@basileus Yeah, the dev's need to finish the game. At least we know that if the devs have time, they can pitch in our ideas.
-
If they want to add races (and planets) they can do it later on. For now I would focus on what they have already planned and not go the Star Citizen route of adding more and more features and never release
-
As @Rofus said new races are never a bad thing as long as they are done well but they should really get what is planned done and released before then.
One thing that might be cool are hybrid demon/human or beastman/human races but I can't think of a lore reason for that happening that fits with what we've already been told
-
They will most likely add more in the future

I think this would be a fantastic way to step into a double start. Either the pure evil that Jetah wants or even the more neutral than esher wants. This way you could be one or the other and the planet they would start on would be split in half due to war and would have a no man's land, wall or some kind of zone between them that would signify that you are going a little too far.
This planet could be a bit bigger than the other ones, thinking roughly 75% the size of each planet for each side of the field.
-
Note that it's arguable that Angels and Abominations may function as their own sub-species (or sub-sub-species) variants, so those are worth taking into consideration too when tallying things up.
-
each of those have their own world so having a fourth race is not going to happen...

I Dont think it would be a good idea, it would break the low fantasy theme of the game

humans have technology and the world has magic so if we combine those two we get working machines.

I don't know. I think having 3 entirely distinct planets with their races is good enough for this game to launch. Maybe an expansion can have some planet X thing fly around and introduce a 4th. But I say launch first.
