What unusual weapon types would you like to see?

In every game I like playing a dual wielding class, with my preference being a dual wielding Axe melee shaman, beastmaster or primalist!

As I read the comments I just wondered "why can't we use anything as a weapon?" if you're out hunting and your weapon breaks, grab a branch. a group wants to raid your villa, grab a cattle prod. you're in the field planting potatoes an someone wants to sneak you, use the Sai as a weapon or the hoe if you were tilling the soil.
I like the idea of improvised weapons, especially given how environmental the game design is. Maybe these improvised weapons can be used as bases to create more permanent armament.
This would also help with "my character can't beat this dungeon" concerns by adding environmental weapons specifically designed to turn useless characters into mediocre characters in the context of the dungeon. For instance, a character with no fire damage would be able to pick up torches, but an actual fire mage would still have higher damage output.

Dark Knight in FFXI made me a fan of Scythes.

if spells/abilities can interact with each other then a wind user could take that torch and amplify the fire. A melee character might be able to heat their sword.
i wonder if we could burn the room!?

Regardless of what kinds of weapons are in the game. I would like to see wild variations on the general weapon types. There could be multiple different kinds of art assets for each different type of weapon. That way you could find very unique items.

Non-traditional weapon types I think COULD be neat include whips, using nature (earth shifter, water manipulator, etc.), and animals (lightning hawk, flame wasps, etc.).

This might not be necessarily a weapon 'type', but I'd like to see some weapons that are alignment specific. Not necessarily "limit scythes to evil, and greatswords to good" because that could cause build imbalances. But it could be something like with the planets, d the sword cursif a good player uses an evil swores them and vice versa. Also, maybe neutral players can equip them without being hurt, but they wouldn't get the entire benefit of using the weapon.

@cursedreaper Maybe the alignment specific stats could be an enchantment. So you could have the sword or scythe as you please but then you would have an enchantment placed on the weapon by a trade skill that would be for your alignment. That way people can choose which ever weapon they want and add on the appropriate enchantment if their alignment changes over time.

I'd be hella interested in Eastern weps like rope darts, hook blades, tekpi, crescent moon blades, katars, and sasumata.

I would personally love to see Flails.
Maybe even some option to dual wield them.
If the animations were done right I feel they could look amazing.

Not so unusual but I love two handed axes, I want big, two handed axes!!!
