This is something we're going to cover in a feature spotlight of its own, but I can drop some hints. There will be different schools of magic, tied to different regions of the world and to NPCs that populate player-made towns. The NPCs will be region-specific as well though. Bottom line, you'll have to explore the whole world, including the areas that are most hostile to your race, if you want to learn all the spells in the game. And then there are Ancestral and Divine spells, connected to the most remote locations and the Gods of Fractured... but I can't reveal more about those now, you'll have to wait for the spotlight

We've planned over 400 different spells / abilities, so you can expect plenty of schools as well!

So. I'm new here and I haven´t read every single thing about the game yet, can some1 tell me if the game will me magic/spell based or we can also be melee skill based? Thanks ^^

There will be plenty of melee abilities just like there are spells, sure

@prometheus Are you able to reveal if there will be things like necromancy and if you practice those "dark arts" would that affect you anyway in-game like morale/become a criminal.

@grimalkin Same here. Since there's no targeting, I assume we'll have to skill-shot our heals just like our damage abilities.

@prometheus 400 spells/abilities? Does these include passive ones or ones that are clearly going to be replaced? (i.e different tiers of spells so some spells are for beginning sorcerers to learn but evolve into stronger spells; therefore, counting as 2 spells since the new enhanced version "technically" has a different name?)
